She smiled and then frowned to cover up the smile.

"I don't know, surprise me Petrus," she said effecting a cutesy tone like the girls in the holovids.

Petrus snorted laughter. "You're the worst." He said, smiling.

He poured a generous amount of smoothie into a glass, handing it to her. "There ya go. Enjoy. Grab a seat if you like. We'll be starting pretty soon..."

Petrus checked his chrono again, then glanced at the door, his blue eyes concerned.

"Nice to meet you, Xanna. More like a new friend... We got to talking about this holovid series, and I was pleasantly horrified by everything he said about it, so I had to see it," she explained.

"I am thinking he is having this effect on everyone Sacha. 'Pleasantly horrified', I like that description." She nodded and looked at the Liua-Petrus interaction then back at the seats. Reflexively she picked the one that would allow her to escape quickly if it turned out to be terribly bad. She smiled at herself when she realised.

"So what is the procedure here? For the watching?"

Door opened and another lady walked in. Seemed Petrus invited only girls and a Trandoshan (who probably wouldn't be a rival in mammalian courtship). Even casual Dove with her hair down looked like she turned looks.

"Hey, I'm not late, am I?" She held up a bag with drinks and snacks, which was adding even more to the pile of refreshments everyone brought. "Had to make a pitstop for snacks, and... oh right, I'm Dove. Haven't met all of ya before, but I'm pretty sure I can place the names from what Petrus has told me."

So this was the spy friend. Unless Petrus had more gorgeous friends hidden away? This was the one playing a dangerous game with Valus. With Petey introducing them she nodded. "Hello Dove. You are not late, we have yet to turn on the holo...contraption."

The people we meet, they usually go their separate ways. Sometimes we tell the day by the soup that we make, and sometimes when I am alone in there I get this urge to bake."

She shrugged and lifted her hand to her nose, smelling the grease before wiping her hand clean on a napkin. "Is that Sorosuub WD40 hydrogrease? I need to restock after Petrus broke, and then I suppose helped to fix, the kitchen sink."

" 'Course! WD40 works on everything, and it's good for Nautolan skin! We can get mighty dry without some insulation."
She nods along at what sounds like a pretty epic soup kitchen
"Petrus broke the sink? Doubtless in a fit of epic exhaustion after cooking soup for three days straight."

Sighing sadly
"I haven't baked in aaaages. Not since folk told me the seaweed cake just wasn't working out, I'm real jealous Miss Xanna."

Vaya returned, better groomed and much improved in outfit (which had in fact been clean and easy to find). A cream-colored double-breasted tunic mimiced an Imperial officers', although it came with velvety grey leggings instead of jodphurs. As she usually did, she left off the capelet, which had seemed a good idea at a time but upon reflection was too much for pretty much every occasion.

It was once upon a time high fashion in the Core, several years back when non-Clone naval commanders were the toast of the town. It was now several years out of date as far as fads went, and her version was fabricated from off-the-rack specs rather than organically tailored, but she'd kept it in good condition. It was one of the few non-practical pieces of her previous employment that she'd held on to, the sort of thing she'd wear when in an office doing datawork where her superiors would be expecting her to keep up appearances, or dealing with the office of a planetary Governor or regional satrap.

She felt immediately awkward as she re-entered the Karath's apartment, but covered it by making directly for the snacks table and pouring herself a glass from the three-quarters-full bottle she had brought. She toasted the room -- "Vaya, I live across the hall," and waved the bottle in her other hand -- "Bankor's finest hyperfuel-grade desensitizer. You might need it for this show." She gave Liua a look. "Uh, if you're of age, that is." She glanced at Petrus in confusion.

"No." Petrus said, shaking his head firmly.

After a moment, he smiled wryly. "But she's right otherwise. I know a great drinking game... maybe another time." He cleared his throat.

"Aww, shucks," Dove chuckled warmly, "that's nice of you to say, sweetie. You don't look too bad yourself either in that dress. It's very cool."

"Hello Vaya, I am Xanna and this is Liua. The big guy is our friend Sloan." She placed a hand on her heart before waving.

"Ah that's cool. You must be Xanna." There was something of an appraising glance as she looked at the blue girl. Dove could see why Petrus seemed fond of such a pretty one. "I hope you're working Petrus hard. He needs shaping up and all, but his heart's in the right place."

"Yes, I am Xanna." She looked at Liua when Dove asked about Petrus. "Well, my assistant manager and I will need to have a serious discussion about Petrus' performance. I mean, we have tried to work him hard. But Bowse remains our only reliable dishwasher." She gave a 'what can you do' shrug.

Liua added, "I don't think he even knows what a dish looks like."

She was thankful for her boss and best friend, which made her frown as she didn't like having to depend on others.

"Oh, it one hundred percent is, and weird cultural appropriation at that," she assured Floats, amusement in her voice despite her mask revealing nothing. "I mean, it almost isn't just because it's so far from reality. So I'm looking forward to seeing it in action."
