Shadows of Bankor

The Inquisitor meditated.

His meditations were disturbed by an incoming holo-call. He rose and replaced his helmet and then approached the terminal. It was a priority message which made him nervous, was it the Master? No… it was her.

He frowned under the helmet and said, “13th Sister.”

“11th Brother,” she replied through her helmet.

“I bring words from Lord Vader,” she said, and he could feel her sneering smile in the words without seeing them. She gestured with her right hand added, “He grows concerned at your lack of progress in tracking down Oraka Hin and this growing resistance is becoming a problem.”

“I have only just arrived, Oraka will not evade me this time,” he said in his calm mechanical voice.

“Lord Vader,” he said the words with fear, “Need not be concerned, I will not fail.”

“He obviously does not share your confidence, or else he would not have sent me,” she said deviously.

“Lord Vader wants this matter resolved before his arrival, kill or turn this Jedi. I leave you that task, it seems fitting for you. The Resistance is mine,” she said folding her arms across her chest.

“Lord Vader’s will is absolute,” he said bowing his head.

“Oraka is mine and the Resistance is yours, 13th Sister. When can Bankor expect your arrival?” he said.

“Tomorrow afternoon, have Captain Hrugos on standby, I will not be wasting time,” she said pointedly.

“The Resistance will understand the futility of their actions and Bankor will know they are servants of the Empire.”

She ended the call.

The Inquisitor clenched a fist and turned seething at his own perceived failure and said to himself, “Oraka… don’t worry old Master, soon you will see how powerful I have truly become.”
