[Day 2 - EN] Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

Assuming Dove didn’t skip town she is given the red carpet treatment, a squad of five black clad storm troopers arrive to pick her up and bring her to the space port where she is ushered into an Imperial shuttle and brought into orbit to the space station. She is of course thoroughly checked for any devices or weapons.

From there she is ‘gently’ guided to the personal chambers of the Inquisitor, outside which stand another squad of black clad storm troopers. Inside is a large spacious chamber with a clean white design and bright lights. Nothing adorns the walls and there seems to be a large central chamber with a single mat on the floor.

She is directed to a dining area where a table is prepared with rather sumptuous appetizers and a fresh bottle of wine on chill. Standing by the window is the Inquisitor. The storm troopers salute and then see themselves out.

The Inquisitor gestured and one of the two chairs moves back for her to have a seat as he said in that cold mechanical tone, “Please, be at ease, Dove, Dove Gray.”

OOC: Hard Deception or Skullduggery check, with a setback for being thorough any contraband will be confiscated.

It had been... an eventful day, to say the least. And then she was going to round it off with the biggest and most terrifying event of them all. At least she had been able to take a couple of hours to clean up pretty good after all the excitement.

And Dove did know how to turn out a look, with her thick hair swept up in a neat bun, with the voluminous bangs still framing her face. A small black dress. Red lips. Even if she was to dine with Doom tonight, she didn't turn down the chance to turn out a look.

As much as she didn't like going in unarmed, Dove opted for not smuggling in any contraband for this meeting, figuring security would be high. She didn't have the trust to slip things by for this event. [Nothing smuggled in. Don't know if they can see cybernetics?]

"Sir," she tipped her head slightly in greeting. How did one greet an Inquisitor, anyway? Your grace? Exalted Darkness? "Thank you... for your hospitality." Dove sank her form down into the offered seat.

He didn’t turn his back but the chair moved forward into place for comfortable eating. He sat in silence for a long time and said, “What do you see when you look out this window, Dove, Dove Gray.”

She silently turned her attention to the window, wondering what else there was to see but space and stars, maybe a glimpse of the planet below?

"Just... space?" she first said, somewhat lacking in creativity. "Bankor that this station is orbiting, lots of stars. I've not really been one for deeper philosphy about the great void of space. May I ask what it is that you see there?"

"A galaxy in turmoil, resisting the proper order," he replied.

"Mm," she nodded slightly. Dove couldn't really deny that the galaxy was in turmoil. It hadn't really settled down after all the upheavals of the past years. "It's been like that for a long time, hasn't it? First the Clone Wars, and... then it never really stopped?"

There is an audible hiss as he removed his helmet and he said in his own voice, “The Clone Wars revealed the weakness of the Jedi, the Republic… but it seems many are slow to see that there is only one path for the galaxy.”

He put the mask on a pedestal and then pulled back the hood revealing long dark hair and added, “The galaxy cries out for aid, and then resists the solution when it is given.”

He turned and approached and said, “Please go ahead and enjoy the refreshments.”

By the maker, he was handsome. It was almost a crime to obscure those features under a mask.

"Thank you," Dove said politely as he indicated for her to partake in the appetizer. She really was hungry.

"Is that why you became an Inquisitor? To help the galaxy, sir?"

“Yes.”

“The Jedi had failed, they had allowed themselves to be tricked and destroyed. They had not seen their ending, it was beautiful how complete their eradication was,” he said calmly enjoying some fruit.

“So tell me, Dove, Dove Gray, why do you think I spared your life?”

Dove took a bite of the appetizer, taking her time to enjoy the flavor. Whatever the head honchos got to eat was bound to be better than what was found planet-side, she figured.

"Well..." she paused, reaching for the glass of wine. "You said you didn't like wasting good material, so I assume you see some worth in keeping in touch with someone who has... feet on the ground and a touch on the pulse of daily life?" Her red lips quirked into a playful smirk. "It couldn't have been just my good looks, right?" He did seem like a smart and practical man, at least to her assessement.

“That and I am sure you are plotting to betray me, don’t deny it. I would do the same if the roles were reversed. Despite how much you fear me, there is something that gives you a modest amount of courage,” he said sipping wine.

He gestured and her chair moved back slowly.

“Join me,” he said holding out his hand.

"Well, no, I'm probably not going to deny it, but I've kind of always lived dangerously. Bit like a lone wolf." Dove wasn't sure if what she had was really courage. A sense of fatalism, perhaps. Or just a result of her conditioning. She never really envisioned making safe choices in the long-run of things... retiring to a quiet farm to live out her somewhat short life wasn't appealing.

The movement of the chair did catch her by surprise, but she rose up to take the offered hand. "You know, if I had the power to move things as easily as that, then... well I'd probably use it all the time too."

Music started as he pulled her into a dance.

“It has been a good day though and we should not waste it on who will betray whom… so tell me a little about yourself Dove, Dove Gray. I am curious, I could simply extract what I want to know, but that seems gauche when I am sure you will be forthcoming,” the Inquisitor said.

“I like to think of myself as a hospitable host, most days.”

She raised eyebrows in surprise as he pulled her into a dance. It had been a couple of years since she was entangled in a deadly dance like this.

"My," she chuckled, giving him a raised eyebrow as she looked at him. "Gaucheness aside, don't you enjoy a little bit of mystery in your life, sir?" Her lips pursed for a moment. "As for myself... I'm nowhere near as thrilling as an Inquisitor, I'm sure. Chasing small bounties, musician... it's a living."

Dove had the agility for dancing at least, so she was at least not a disappointed partner in that regard.

"Saying that I'm from Arkania originally is probably rather dull details to share."

“We recovered three… no five storm troopers in the desert, ST-2351672 was strangely missing no sign. You would not happen to know anything about that Dove, Dove Gray?” he asked as they danced and then he dipped her.

She inhaled sharply in surprise as he dipped her. "No...? I'm afraid that doesn't ring any bells to me. The desert isn't really a place for me, to be honest. It would ruin my complexion."

And such pale and delicate skin as hers, she'd probably fry to a crisp under the intense heat of a desert.

“Hrrm, no matter then… surprisingly little data on that trooper,” he mused.

“I have half a mind to think he may be working with Intelligence, oh well. If you learn anything about this peculiar trooper do be a good girl and tell me,” he said.

She gave a nod, chuckling. "A good girl? Sure. Just know when I'm good, I'm good. When I'm bad... " a wink, "I'm better."

“Oh?” he said casually and gave her a spin and then pulled her back in.

“Do tell, and don’t be boring.”

As he pulled her back in Dove raised her leg slightly to almost embrace his, her lithe form pressing closer to his body.

Her face brushed past his, and her lips left a red mark on his neck before she whispered; "I have a possible lead on Oraka Hin."

“You really know how to impress,” he said smiling at her and then spun her again and this time let go as she floated around the room spinning until she was back in his grasp once more and said, “Don’t keep me in suspense.”

She did hold on a little more tightly after that spin. When guys said 'take you for a spin' she didn't think they meant literally defying gravity.

"Since you insist," she smiled sweetly. "Farmer's Market in Jaklu. I haven't been able to go and check, but that's what my initial search turned up."

“Jaklu,” he said tasting the word.

“Already you have proven yourself useful. Lord Vader will be pleased when we find Oraka and break him. The Inquisitorius has need of capable agents, I have need of capable agents… I have many needs,” he said smiling.

"Most men do," Dove chuckled, her body swaying to the rythm of the music.

"Some needs are easier to meet than others. Such as the more personal ones... the needs of the Inquisitors, well, that might be much for someone like me?"
