Jabber, readies his pistols, realizing that he is a bit unprepared compared to a lot of the others.

"I hear there can me trouble...I'm glad to be doing this with other people. Especially with a bunch this crazy."

Bowze looked over the landscape with his electrobinoculars, keeping watch for threats

"I asked around...there is supposed to be a new player in the Undercity, if that's what is here. Maybe we can get some intel about the area while we work."

Jabber does his best to keep his head on a swivel.

''Are they here? Really?'' the nemoidian was doubtful ''Perhaps...but I doubt they are the only threats here.''

Djanik looked a bit grim as he arrived, dressed in a nondescript gray jumpsuit, with pockets laden with tools.

"If we can avoid run ins with the local toughs, that would save a lot of time and trouble."

OOC: Just a note the Undercity refers to the underground of Rygor...

OOC - you mean under the ground, tunnels and sewers and access ways and basements, yes?

"You ready to get your feet dirty?"

(OOC wow I got turned around )

"Filthy." Jabber sniffs a little. "Vandil has a job later. This might work to my benefit"

OOC: Sorry Rygor is somewhere else. I guess this is it's own thing. Still, salvage away!

"I hope I won't catch anything" the nemoidian said looking disgusted, still observing

"Yes, well, nobody said overthrowing the galactic Empire was going to be easy, General."

Djanik began kicking about small heaps of scrap, trying to gauge what kind of materials they were working with.

This could be a rough job.

OOC: Are we sticking to the outskirts of the wasteland or going deeper in?

OOC: I think we are going deeper. That is the only way to justify the upgrade, correct?

“Hey now,” said Vaya, holding up her hands. “Why don’t we see what the easy pickings are first, huh? I didn’t sign up to get eaten this morning. Maybe tomorrow.” Still, though, she basically had made a profession of going down into dark places to find old things...

Ooc: I thought we weren’t incurring the dangerzone! My only real fear is getting beat up and then having to go into hazardous later day retroactively wounded, not otherwise averse. Since Jabber and I are rolling Streetwise separately, could one of us take the upgrade and the other not (and, of course, not be close to hand if Things Go Badly)?

Alternately/additionally, can we make some kind of Perception check to scout before delving too far (while still scavenging this slot)? If so, can all 4 characters participate, for [best skill/best stat] pool with 3 boosts, or is it more limited than that?

OOC: if you want to hang back that is fine.

Bowze thought about the dilemma for a good minute

''The easy picking might be less interesting but since we do not know the area quite yet proceeding gradually might be the better course.'' he looked at Vaya

''Furthermore I do not want you to do something you are not comfortable with.''

Djanik agreed.

"Best to start with the easy stuff while we get a lay of the land."

With a faint sigh, "I'd like to at least make it a week of owning a ship before getting holes shot in it."

"Fine, fine...I guess we should split up a bit then. This area looks kind of picked through."

The group split in to two, with Vaya taking Djanik with her (to her mind, the evenest split of danger-competence, with her assuming she and the Nemoidian were equally liabilities in a shootout). With excavation gear, an ascension gun, and infrabinocs, they find a good haul.

I think spending the advantages to increase the utility of the salvage is the right call.

Djanik, not yet having had his no good, very bad, terrible bad afternoon, set himself to trying to find equipment, parts, and assorted components suitable for trying to rebuild the infrastructure necessary to combat an overpowering force.

"It's a pretty good start." Jabber drags his haul back to the group. "I think we can at least get the sensors and the ship up and running. We have to have a discussion as to whether we want to try to repair as many droids as possible or upgrade the ones we have. But while we are here..." Jabber looks over the expansive region that they hadn't explored. "Do we want to take some sensor readings, or scout out more spots if we want to go further next time?"

Bowze really wanted to keep watch over the wastes just in case but the situation seemed under control so he decided to join the jawa in some digging.

''Hum...I don't...hum?'' Bowze was confused

Jabber starts to putter, loading his haul into the ship.

"Alright, everything in the pot that I've collected is here in the hold. Don't lose it."


Jabber takes a look back. "Do we come back another day?"

"I can stay longer, or fly us back."

Djanik shrugged.

"I'm game either way - and just as importantly, I can always bring us back another day."

''Guys...'' Bowze pointed in excitement at some large metal hunk ''...its...its...a droideka''
