The pair of M&Ms (Mirialan and Mandalorian) rode through the outskirts of the dunes with Rannek at the wheel.

"So... you got an idea where we start looking?" He asked. "What kinda place does someone like that need to live out here?"

Sacha looked over a topographical map on the datapad. "They'd at least need shelter and water. Nothing's gonna survive without that, and if he's hiding out in the desert, he'll have to have somewhere to hide a decent cache of it... Rodians are from a swamp world, so it might be tougher for them than most..."

They spy a collection of structures. Like an old village.

Rannek nodded as she pointed to the map, “Seems a good place to start. Let’s head there.”

Sacha nodded quietly, keeping an eye on their location as they went. "Looks like it's not too far."

The ride out was relatively quiet as they drew nearer to the village.

"Dude probably is prepared in some way... we should be careful as we approach. Maybe get out and go in quietly on foot..."

She nodded. "Good idea."

Rannek and Sacha walked as quietly as they could but it seems the dunes and old buildings did give that much cover.

Advantage to detect an ambush or some important detail about his whereabouts?

As they get closer they can tell that this village has people and they have a lookout who most likely saw their approach.

“There are people here... I think they saw us. What do you wanna do? Straight on? Or get the speeder and bring it into town?”

They tapped their fingers on the speeder. "They'll have a chance to prepare if we wait, maybe get reinforcements. If we can draw them out one or two at a time, that would be ideal."

"Alright... why don't we pull up close to the town. We'll get out and approach... and I'll cover you with my rifle. If it's a trap... best to spring it and pull them out."

They nodded. "I'll see if I can limit the amount of attention I get at first."

"Who knows... maybe we can get him to come quietly." She laughed bitterly.

He chuckled as he started up the engine, "Good one."

They drove towards the village until they were a short distance away from the outermost domiciles and got out. They began walking towards the outskirts with Sacha a short distance in front of Rannek.

There is the a warning shot given and then a rodian shouted, "That's far enough stranger."

Rannek stopped where he was and tried to follow the blaster shot back from its point of origin while replying.

"Alrighty. Not the nicest reception... what's going on?"

"This is private property... so best keep moving on stranger," it's coming from a building some forty or so meters ahead.

"We're a bit lost it seems... been looking for someone. Maybe you can help?" He asked.

"Don't know them," they called back.

"You sure? Didn't even ask their name." He replied.

"Rodian guy. Name starts with a 'J' or something. Somebody wants him dead... or alive if this Mr. J would prefer that over the alternative."

The rodian called back, "Nope don't know them, move along."

Rannek sighed and thought about turning around before the image of the elderly Togruta woman and little Gibsy came back into his mind.

After letting out the sigh and taking a deep breath on the other end of it he replied, "I'm afraid I can't do that... I gotta see this Mr. J. Not gonna blabber too much, but I got a kid that needs to eat... And so you know... pretty desperate myself to make sure this gets done. No offense or anything. If he really ain't there then you got no reason to shoot us. If you do shoot at us I'm guessin' it's because you ain't bein' fully honest with us and we gotta get all our cards on the table. So... yeah... here we come."

He got his rifle in his hands and began walking forward with Sacha.
