Astin took the young womans hand and shook it, he wasn't afraid of grease after all.

But... He didn't let go, instead attempting to tug the girl along as he made for the sink. "Alright then Floats, we're going teach you how to wash your hands when you're done tinkering. After that you're going to go buy some shop rags. greasyhands may be fine on a boatbut, this is a star ship and somethign like a second home." He lectured.

Astin took the young womans hand and shook it, he wasn't afraid of grease after all.

But... He didn't let go, instead attempting to tug the girl along as he made for the sink. "Alright then Floats, we're going teach you how to wash your hands when you're done tinkering. After that you're going to go buy some shop rags. greasyhands may be fine on a boatbut, this is a star ship and somethign like a second home." He lectured.

Getting tugged along
"But I wash plenty!.....I just tinker plenty too. Greasy hands are a sign of hard work in boat culture."

"That might be so, but it's also poor manners to shake someone's hands without at least whipping the grease off yours. If my mama was here she'd be liable to tan your hide for trying." Astin grumbled as they reached the sink in the kitchen.

Picking up a bottle soap he placed it in front of floats then turned on the sink with his clean hand. "Now wash." He said in the firm tone of an older brother.

Walking over to MIa, Ru'ni dropped his voice slightly, but it echoed in the enclosed ship and carried farther than he had intended.

"If I can't commit to this lifestyle, you know what to do with my space, yes? As we discussed about your previous Run?"

"Sure? But why keep it a secret? We're all friends here, right?" Mia asked, eyeing the rest of the crew.

"Just, with all the talk about strangers on the ship. I wasn't sure where the line blurred between overnight bed buddies and refugees." Ru'ni replied sheepishly.

"That might be so, but it's also poor manners to shake someone's hands without at least whipping the grease off yours. If my mama was here she'd be liable to tan your hide for trying." Astin grumbled as they reached the sink in the kitchen.

Protesting scrubbing sounds. The water turns black and stays so for a good 30 seconds.

"Just social lubrication is what it is."

"Social lubrication is what you usually use to get someone into bed with you, and it often refers means alcohol." Astin offered with a teasing tone, taking over the sink once Floats was done, to wash his own hands.

"And really if we were in your shop, or a garage I wouldn't mind a bit. This is a starship though, and engineering is no more then 10 meters from the kitchen." He glanced at Dove and grinned. "And I'm pretty sure some of us don't know how to get grease stains out of the furniture."

"I'm just asking you think a bit about it, Okay?"

"Well....since you're asking, I suppose I'll do my best to keep things clean round here, on account of it being habitation."
She manages a smile
"Don't want folks getting accidentally lubed and then getting the wrong idea now."

That earned Floats a friendly slap on the back. "You do that, and I'll see if I can manage to cook up one of your favorite foods sometime soon." Astin replied cheerfully, before moving back into the common room.

"You're right there, I figure talking about people getting lubed will cause more then enough misunderstandings on it's own. If you actually do it, the rest of the crew might have to lecture you about bringing 'friends' on the ship."

Blushing furiously, which on a red Nautolan, is quite something, as she follows behind.
"That's really not how I operate Mr Astin. Y'all seem like real social creatures, but I don't think I'd have much truck with strangers wanting to get unseemly with me."

"That's a decision for you to make, Floats." Astin said, giving the young woman a playful wink. "I'm mostly just teasing you on your choice of words."

"As for sex being unseemly, well I suppose a good portion of folk will agree with you on that notion. Not me, but I'm not going to try and dissuade you either."

"That's a decision for you to make, Floats." Astin said, giving the young woman a playful wink. "I'm mostly just teasing you on your choice of words."

"As for sex being unseemly, well I suppose a good portion of folk will agree with you on that notion. Not me, but I'm not going to try and dissuade you either."

"I was just raised very, you know....'proper' feels judgemental. Raised different I guess? But I don't think the empire has any business in the bedrooms of the galaxy, so I can just turn up my whale noises if folks are getting loud, and otherwise let'em be."

Lighting up at the mention of ship modifications

"Oh definitely, we need a radio system and a bar and amphibious modification...I've got uh, 22 credits to my name. So I can pitch in there?"

That was a bit of a disappointment, it also meant he would be paying for the modifications to floats armor out of his own pockets. Perhaps Dove to, but at least she would be playful about handing over her measurements.

"Well, you should likely keep your hands on those Float. You have shop rags to buy after all, and in this galaxy you never want to be flat broke."

"As for myself, I have a few hundred credits I could pitch in."

Dove had been observing the interplay between Floats and Astin, smiling as she did. This is gonna be good experience for Floats... just like it was for Petrus too to interact with real people.

Walking up to Dove, he leaned close to whisper to her. "You might want to wash your own delicates. You two likely wear different kinds."

"But yeah, leave all the stuff here I'll get started on it in the morning." He said back in his normal tone. "As I said, I make no garuntee la but I'll do my best."
