Well, they were likely going to do something very "not smart"...so hopefully the people looking to get a payday from Vandil could show some street smarts.

"Ever thought about getting into the spy-biz, little guy?" Dove commented quietly as the trio stuck together to avoid patrols.

----

OOC: Forgot that we only have to roll once as a group.

"It turns out that spies and criminals have a lot in common..." Jabber beams up at Dove, clearly enjoying the praise.

"How have you been gorgeous? It's been a hot minute."

Vaya rolled her eyes at Jabber, and replied in conversational Jawa Trade. "What would your mother say, pip pip, hearing you talk to a lady like that, wot cheerio?" She'd spent enough time around Jabber and his recruits to start to pick up a little.

Dove snickered. "As good as one can be with the Imps running around and messing up the place."

"Right. Plan is to see what we can learn about the Disciple's whereabouts, the hideout, and what a likely resistance there would be. If we're lucky, maybe a back-entrance or something to avoid the worst of their defenses." She looked from Vaya to Jabber. "I think that the three of us should be able to uncover some; Vaya's smarts and knowledge, Jabber's skills, and my training."

------------

OOC: Using Improved Street Smarts for this session to uncover a vital clue about The Disciple/The Disciple's hideout for the impending mission. With 1 rank of Street Smarts, the difficulty is Daunting (4 Difficulty).
Street Smarts, Improved: Once per session, may perform the Improved Street Smarts action. Make a Formidable (5 Difficulty) Streetwise or Knowledge [Underworld] check, reducing the difficulty once per rank of Street Smarts [1]. If successful, the GM must reveal one vital clue pertaining to a current mystery the character is attempting to solve.

OOC: Do you need me to roll?

Jabber does a double take as he realized Vaya can respond back. It isn't impossible to learn, but few bothered, as the whole point was making yourself sound close enough to Basic to be understood.

"She'd tell me to find a nice Jawish female from a good family and buy a nice sandcrawler. Pump out a few offspring to take care of me in my old age. Don't chase the long legged shiksa..." Jabber brushes the aside. "Well, I broke bad long ago, so I might as well enjoy the perks."

OOC: I think we were waiting for some Valuable facts and hopefully some boost dice

Vaya looked down at Jabber with mock severity. "Well, upon your head be it." She reached up to adjust the still-unfamiliar shape and weight of the airy, silvery tiara Juri had gifted her. For the purposes of sneaking into down, it was currently as obscured as possible under the hood her outdoorsman's vest could zip on in case of rain. The contrast between finery and "vest with a hood" was not fashionable (were vests with hoods ever?), and Vaya felt extra self-conscious next to the incredibly well-put-together Dove.

Vaya rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on. "So as you might guess from the name, the Disciple's crew runs kind of culty... cult-esque? Anyway...."

D7EN fun disciple-enary facts (Underworld, 4 strain for 4 boosts from Neural Charm): 4eA+4eB+2eD 5 successes, 1 advantage

ooc: use 1 advantage to recover 1 strain, bringing me to 3/11 strain (plus maybe retroactively some more if I end up doing more Neural Charm in an earlier slot). Hanging triumph, and +2 advantages to the next roll.

Jabber starts searching...and doesn't find what he's looking for. Somehow, the valuable clue that Jabber and Dove were hoping to get does not surface. However...it seems that Force works in some extremely strange ways

OOC: During the "Hunt" they can get either 1 success on a non-combat roll or two free upgrades to any two non combat rolls, due some surprising intel they are able to fish up by accident.

"Well I'll be a Jawa's momma," Dove remarked with surprise at their luck. It hadn't been quite what they had been looking for, but it had made the trip worthwhile regardless.

"I'm not sure that's in good taste, Dove," said Vaya, her nervousness adding an edge to her wry tone. This was the first time she'd been back in Rygor in weeks, and the feeling of needing to constantly hide put her on edge.

"I'll take it." Jabber winks at Dove. "I can't wait to see your policy on nursing. Hey...we could die tomorrow. What do you have to lose?"

Dove had to cover her mouth to not laugh out loud. They still had to keep a low profile, and Vaya seemed pretty on edge already.

"Why, I'd lose the precious ability of keeping you mystified of what my answer would be."

Vaya watched the exchange, attempting a distant-yet-amused look. Is this a spy thing? Is this what tradecraft looks like?

"Is that how you speak to your baby?" Jabber covers his mouth in feigned shock.

"Maybe we can trade some secrets. I haven't showed you our base yet...we just got a bartender. Come on, what would one drink hurt?"

Jabber looks back. "We can give her a lift to our place Vaya. It's late after all."

Vaya raised her hands as if to ward off something, and dropped her voice to a whisper. "Hey, whattyou mean our place? When I get the choice, I sleep where I don't need a thermal cloak to take a walk outside."

Ever-the-spy, Dove did briefly consider going along with it just to get a chance to soak up the details of this CIS clubhouse.

"Well, my ship is plenty warm, Doc. Even when walking around in your underwear." Astin did keep the temperature up at comfortable degrees to accomodate his habits.

Jabber drops his voice too. "Hey, it's more spacious than my last place, and now we have heating and plumbing...plus, it's secret and cool! Literally!"

"So...is that a yes?"

Dove placed a hand on Jabber's head, almost affectionately.

"That's a no, little guy. It's past your bedtime, and I got important work to do."

"Your loss." Jabber let's out a dramatic sigh. "I guess we have work to do."

Vaya looked up at Dove, and down at Jabber. She was uncomfortably reminded of those drunken University nights, with everyone stumbling on in an electron cloud of hormones, probabilistically hoping they would end up with someone rather than no-one.

She hadn't been drinking, but she did have a headache. Maybe it was all the tradecraft.

She was way too old to return to those college days.

On the other hand, she could die tomorrow.

"Ah, what the hell," she was about to say, "I can introduce you to Trigger, Dove."
