[Day 5- MM] Mondays am I right? [Closed]

Admiral Yulani sipped her kaf as she waited on the command deck of the Dictator reviewing the reports. It was a solemn ritual, first the kaf and then the reports, she needed the kaf to wake up and she needed the reports to give her detailed reasons why this world needed the efficiency and guidance of the Empire.

This morning would see an alteration of that ritual as she waited for her morning appointment. At least the kaf was good this morning, mental note give Ensign Iujo faint but daning praise at the next all-call.

Dove was slightly nervous. Yes, it was a great opportunity to come all the way here to the Dictator, but damn was she nervous about the circumstances and the reasons. Regardless, her cybernetics was catching every step of the way, in the case that this information could be useful for the Resistance.

Like a good upstanding citizen, she followed her escort to the command deck, and the scent of kaf reminded her that she craved another cup herself. "Good morning, admiral," she said politely as they arrived.

The Admiral handed her a datapad and said, “Four different security leaks, one I could understand as soldiers sadly have loose lips but four, that means we have a spy. You seem capable, so you are going to catch this spy.”

“I have provided dossiers on three potential candidates, a Jurdak Surt, Yusandr Baol, and a Ria’la Tu’roth. Jurdak was a CIS asset, or at least adjacent, during the war, has a grudge against the Empire and been spotted working with Resistance assets, and also you know him.”

She continued, “Yusandr is a Republic soldier, one of the few that wasn’t a clone trooper, and has proven herself a capable adversary at least on the battlefield, she seems the least likely but possible. The final one is Ria’la Tu’roth with the local news network, has already done several anti-Empire pieces and seems to have ties to the Resistance.”

“Find this spy, it may be none of these suspects, and eliminate them. Questions?” she finished.

The incidents in the report are all information that Dove fed to the Resistance.

Her expression sobered pretty quickly as the Admiral jumped straight to the heart of the matter. This wasn't a woman to play games with. At least not this early in the morning when she was still getting her first round of kaff.

Looking over the presented dossiers, the setup made her feel... uneasy. If they had managed to drag up these three, then it was likely that she herself was a suspect. To her, this seemed like a setup - because she herself was now a suspect too even if the Admiral didn't say it. And this would be the case to prove where her loyalties lay. Most likely, the Admiral might've taken her in for questioning on the suspicion alone were it not for the fact that the Inquisitor favored her.

Small blessings, perhaps. I think I see your game, admiral, a slight quirk at the corner of her mouth as she looked over the dossiers. "Eliminate them? You wouldn't want to bring the one responsible in alive, for questioning?"

“If you feel that is best, I have adjusted information flows so anything they might have known is moot,” she responded.

“If killing is morally objectionable we can handle that ourselves. We just need a target,” she responded casually as she sipped her kaff.

"I see. No, it should not be an issue, hopefully." At least killing was personally not objectionable for her. Didn't mean that situations couldn't arise that made the killing difficult, of course.

"Are there any other suspects if these three don't turn out to be the culprit, that I should be aware of?"

"If there are I am sure you will smoke them out," she replied. "That is what members of the Inquisitorius are good at right, tracking down enemies of the Empire."

"So I've heard, admiral. Not that I'm nowhere near such a grand title myself," she agreed with an amiable smile and nod, trying to gauge the Admiral's thoughts.

OOC: Don't know what skill I'd roll to try to glean the Admiral's intentions in this scenario? Perception?

Even if Dove suspected a possible trap, or a set-up, she wasn't able to get a read on the Admiral's perfect Imperial posture.

“That is all, you can keep the datapad. Good luck on your hunt,” she offered as she turned to her command staff.

“Dismissed.”

OOC: Threat pocketed for later.

"Yes, ma'am," Dove gave a crisp and proper bow of her head, though opted against keeping the datapad. She had no need for the info there, and she didn't feel like risking the unknown hardware today.

Now how was the amazing Dove Gray gonna spin herself out of this one?
