Joint Operations in the Dark (Heist)

Rules: This is a role play thread and heist thread, the players have a total of 10 rolls they can make to complete the heist the first three rolls are at Average and the next four are at Hard, and the final three are at Daunting and no skill check can be repeated by the Heist team. Players should label their Heist rolls and they get two Heist successes if they fail a roll and the Heist rules apply; they cannot use the Heist successes on the Daunting difficulty rolls.

Players need to complete 7 rolls successfully to complete the Heist without having to shoot their way out, and once a Heist success is used it cannot be used again on the next roll. Imperial presence is high in the bunker, so gain a setback die for their presence there.

Due to working with Dredgen Huk gain a boost die to all rolls as his team is professional. Open to four players.

OOC: This is worth 20 Contribution Points.

With Fixit giving field support and HYDRA running communications blackout the CIS lead operation was ready. Dredgen was not pleased to have the Resistance on hand but he was a pro and he figured they knew how to get the job done.

The objective was the databanks and they would support each other getting there. He nodded to Trigger and they moved out as they began the stealthy op on the underground Imperial bunker that used to be an old CIS outpost.

Jabber shoulders up, adjusting his pack. "Are you ready to go guys?"

Well, this was going to be strange. A meeting of oldCIS and nuCIS. Like some kind of strange high school reunion. Or at least that's she imagined it must be like because she had never gone to school... or a reunion.

"Hey boys," she tossed her ponytail casually and gave Jabber a pat on the head. "Feeling better today, little guy?"

Rolling down her sleeve she concealed the slicer gear mounted on her wrist, held together by leather-work. Giving Jabber a little grin, she thought for a moment to lean down and pat him but he didn't deserve any further impropriety delivered from her. Having been asked by Jurdak, Dove, those that she now considered herself working for to be here, she wasn't about to disappoint.

All she could hope was.. was that everything was going to turn out fine, in the end.

Sinnya had always told herself she’d never enter the Foundry. The hypermatter refinery had consumed her mother, swallowed up too many of her childhood friends. Spat other friends out into jails and hospitals when they’d tried to organize for better conditions, too. I’ll be dead before I ever work there, she’d told herself.

But this was a different kind of job. Life was surprising sometimes.

“This garbage pile won’t know what hit it,” she chimed in with a cocky grin.

OOC: Team is go, I leave much of it to you but will interject as needed. Dredgen and his team go in a different way but give you support.

"Jabber, you knew a way in?" Dove looked to the Jawa who had done the scouting up ahead.

Jenna smirked, she was a bit impressed at their little friend, but rather than offer the words of encouragement for it she took a quick moment to assess the field again, "This.. is the first time I'm doing something like this for.. a reason like this," she said under a breath, chuckling to herself.

"Yes. There's a sewer line running from the river that leads to one of the basements. It's by an stormtrooper post though and I haven't checked it since. Of course, the only other option is to try to bypass security topside. " Jabber seems all business today.

“None of us look like we belong in there.” Sinnya considered the case. “Going in from below might be smarter. Plus, it’s too perfect if this place gets taken down from the sewer.” She bounced on her toes. “This post, we just need to sneak past? Or are they actually guarding the outflow?”

"They weren't earlier. It's past their security line, and as best I can tell there were no pressure sensors or reactive security. It is...ah, how should I put this: smelly."

"I've talked my way through people before, can do it again but.." she glanced upward, "but I could climb it, get in from where they least expect. Dove and I have the advantage of being," she looked between the two compatriots, didn't say it.

[Generally assuming someone translates Jabber for Jenna, made the choice and I'm sticking with it.]

"Wouldn't be the first time I've done the dirty route, but..." she looked to Jennah. "Might be risky to show our faces too much now, what with the current situation. But if you have a plan, we could split up."

Jennah was good she knew, and had done her fair share of team jobs like this, so Dove was willing to learn some from her as well out here.

"Split up? You sure about that?" Sinnya looked over her shoulder nervously. "You can borrow my respirator if the smell bothers you that bad..."

"On a job like this? Better to split up, not as easy to spot," she brought a hand up to her ear and tapped her commlink, "just stay in touch and be ready to get out fast if things go wrong. We're not looking to fight here, we're looking to get in and out without being seen, yea?"

"Plan being, I can scale up the top and probably get a better lay of the land. Places like this are bound to have a roof access I can use. Nobody watches the roof access, except on a smoke break maybe," she shrugged.

Dove tapped her chin as she considered the scenario. "Alright, I think that can work. You guys get the stealthy entries, hopefully, I'll do the front-door... just like the ol' days," she gave the group a confident smile. Confidence would hopefully be contagious, and boy were they going to need that for this mission.

"It's not gonna be glorious, but it's gonna be great. All of us working together, for the common goal." Dove tapped her ear to indicate her earbud-commlink. "We'll keep in touch as the situation develops. Give a little sound once your past the first hurdle. And we'll move in for a rendezvous if possible."

Jabber shrugs. "Fair enough. I'm tiny, so my route in is easy enough. Is anyone else going in that way?"

With the battle raging in the streets the Imperial soldiers were stretched thin but this bunker was manned and ready for battle. There was no way this station would be penetrated, it was virtually impregnable! The rebel scum will never get the secrets inside!

NEVER!

Vaya cut a very different silhouette than usual, wrapped in a thermal cloak, with a respirator and a set of bulky goggles trapped to her face. Only the occasional peak of an antennapalp from under the hood, like a skittish prairie rodent, gave much of a hint as to what was under all the gear.

"This is Team Druk," she said quietly into her commlink. She hoped both that she could be heard through the respirator, and that the fiddling she had done with everyone's communicators would be enough to mask and encrypt their transmissions. "We're in position. Entry looks clear. Uh, over." She'd gotten better at radio discipline after the live-fire drill that been her participation in the Battle for Bankor.

"When did you get all official on me?" Jenna said over the comms, mid-walk on a heavy wire that lead to the building. Before she could laugh she'd slipped, fallen, caught herself and swung down onto an exterior walkway with a clattering thunk. "Oww," she rolled over on her side, checking to see she wasn't transmitting, she wasn't.

Rolling over, pushing herself up, she put her hand on the earpiece, "Made it in," she said briefly, simply, walking off the shock of the fall with some ease.

"Okay, going in."

But Sinnya's efforts to blaze a (relatively) dry and stink-free trail were not going to go the way she thought...

Gurdy,

last time, remember this or you're on refresher duty for the next month.
