Crackdown
Event Type: Origin, Local
Participants: Local Origin
Timeslots: Early Morning
Description: Captain Hrugos has made good on his threat and mobilized the Imperial soldiers in and around the slums to crackdown and threaten the people! He will find the dissidents and make them pay! Can you save yourself or rise to aid others against such tyranny!
Rules: Before the player begins they must choose if they are only protecting themselves or helping the people of the slums, just note Saving Yourself or Saving the Slums in your rolls. Saving yourself is far easier but aiding the slums could earn their support by decreasing your starting Obligation but will increase your Suspicion while saving yourself will greatly reduce your Suspicion.
They are Coming!: This is an Average Perception check, success here will grant a boost die to all subsequent rolls. The player notices the Imperials are coming. Due to events in the Initial Origin thread all players are granted a boost roll to this check.
Next the player chooses two of the following three options and must successfully complete one to be considered successful in the event.
This Way!: The player makes an Easy Stealth or Streetwise check to evade the authorities, if aiding the Slums this is increased to Average check.
Run I got This!: The player makes an Easy Combat skill check, not affected by weapons, using Lightsaber here automatically increases Suspicion by 1; this is increased to Average if aiding the slums.
They went That Way!: The player makes a Deception check or Leadership check at Easy, this is increased to Average for aiding the slums.
Rewards/Outcome: If successful and not aiding the sums they decrease Suspicion by 1 to a minimum of .1; if they aided the slums they increase Suspicion by .2 but decrease Obligation by 10 as the people rally to thank them as heroes.

Re: [Day 1 - EM] Crackdown (Event)
Captain Hrugos sat in the command chair of the transport directing his troopers he shouted, “I want those dissidents found and if anyone finds that troublesome wretch from yesterday kill her, no one gets the best of me and lives. You will be rewarded for your service to the Empire!”
Then the storm troopers begin the crackdown!

Re: [Day 1 - EM] Crackdown (Event)
Fortunately for the people of the Slums, Xanna Teevou and her friends were ready. When the Imperials came calling she had already made sure that the weakest and most vulnerable were safely out of the way. It helped that the Stormtroopers were so loud and obvious...
"Okay friends, they are coming!" She started herding the stragglers as the Imps moved in. One of the troopers must have been there the day before as he yelled: "There she is! Get her!"
But Xanna knew these streets rather well after these past few years. "This way everyone, follow me." The troopers struggled to get through the cramped streets and a few well-placed trash cans and stalls made it even harder.
Eventually she doubled back, borrowing a shawl to conceal her features. "They went that way!" It didn't slow them down all that much, but her earlier efforts had been successful enough. It wasn't hard to lose the Imperials again and rejoin her people in safety.
It felt good to be a hero again.

Re: [Day 1 - EM] Crackdown (Event)
One day made all the difference.
Two days ago, Petrus might have kept his head down. Did his best not to be noticed. Run and hid. After all, he knew all too well the price of resistance. Maybe it wasn't greater than the price of giving up, but it certainly felt easier to pay.
But then, just yesterday, he'd seen Xanna stand up. He'd seen Liua be saved because of it. It led them to Brother Sloan and Mahon, and maybe to another Jedi. Little things, but his destiny was altered.
Some might say it was all coincidence. But Jedi didn't believe in luck.
They saw them coming. People moved out of harms way. Perhaps not fast enough. It wouldn't be fast enough. Some of the people he was with weren't runners, too old, or too young. Children... Petrus felt his run slow. He raised his hands. "I surrender! I surrender!" He waited as a pair of stormtroopers closed in...
His blows weren't scientific. But they were guided by the Force.
He spun and kicked, the uncannily smooth motion sending his foot into an armored stomach, sending the stormtrooper to the ground. He grabbed the other's rifle with one hand, the other coming up to catch his head. Petrus spun, smashing him headfirst into the wall with crushing force. It was over almost as soon as it had begun.
Panting slightly, Petrus jogged onward. What he'd done was dangerous... but it felt good.

Re: [Day 1 - EM] Crackdown (Event)
The road trip crew had some business to take care of before the excursion out to old Jaklu...and business was good.
While Xanna and Petrus were well aware of the location of their Imperial adversaries, Sloan stood, eyes closed, centering himself, and the fight came to him.
He opened his eyes and found himself behind the barrel of several blasters. He didn't need to lose a tail...again. He ducked low and swept the legs of the trooper directly in front of him, then proceeded to dispatch the one behind him with two bone shattering elbows. In a subsequent flurry of palms, claws, and knees the squad was dispatched.
A harsh looking man approached Sloan looking at the imperial dog pile at his boots. "They went that way." He stated plainly, and absolutely could not believe the man fell for it.
Sloan stood side by side with his newfound comrades taking the fight to the streets, and it felt good...great even. The Force truly was with them.
Though he hoped Sister Hulia wouldn't be too upset at his brashness.
