[Day 2 - EN] The Darkest Hour
Posted: Tue Jan 28, 2020 2:34 pm
by Mahon Jiut
Mahon had sent out the word to anyone in the Resistance willing, but he made it clear this could be a suicide mission. He paced as he waited in Weggs garage to see if anyone would show and he didn't blame anyone in the Resistance if they didn’t. But he owed that Jedi a chance and he had sacrificed the only thing that mattered to him so he Hoped.
Resistance… no Rebellions were built on Hope, right?

It might be a bit of a surprise to Mahon when a tiny hooded figure pops his head within the door. "So, what's the job? Oh, and you were too easy to follow from the Nerf. You should feel grateful, I'm missing Utini Kids groupies for this"

by Ru'ni Wayne
Ru'ni didn't really give two shits about the Resistance, but after what they had done today, the EMpire had galvanized his distaste of them into outright hatred and he owed Qareme for coming to the aid of his people. There was a debt there to be repaid and despite the wounds he carried from today's war, he would repay it.
Entering the garage, taking as much care not to be spotted as he could, he looked around, spotting a figure he didn't recognize he was cautious.
"This the meeting place for the Zabrak hunt?" He asked, not wanting to give too much away in case this was a setup.

by Sinnya
Sinnya was here for the hunt, too angry to be scared. The Jedi had protected Viati, protected Sinnya herself; letting the red-sword devil and her Imperial minions walk away winners after today felt like letting the darkness from her nightmare triumph.
She was all business as she nodded to Mahon. Her gloved hand squeezed Ru’ni’s shoulder just briefly (if he allowed the contact)—a clear good, you’re here too gesture.

Mahon looked at the jawa and said, “It’s not a job, it’s a mission and there is no pay to be had here.”
Others were coming and he felt heartened to see his friends like Yusandr and others in the Resistance. He took a deep breath and said, “I don’t have a big speech, we all know what happened today, to the Aznuri. We let that happen, kriff, we are supposed to be saving Bankor and we let that happen.”
He held up a data chit and said, “This has Imperial codes on it, including some identifier codes for a ship. It’s time we hit the Imperials where they would least expect it, I mean to misbehave; we are going to rescue that Jedi. I can’t do it alone, and we owe it to her and the Aznuri to try.”
Yusandr added in, “No.”
Mahon frowned and said “No?”
Yusandr added, “We are going to rescue
all of them, if we are aiming to misbehave, then we go big or we go home. Those Imperial malakas have it coming, and I am sure many of those prisoners want payback. I’m in, and I think we have a new friend who knows exactly what we can expect.”

Petrus had made a promise. Actually, a few promises. He'd made one to Mahon, in a sense he'd made one to Master Yoda, and he'd made one to himself.
He'd cleaned up since the fight, more out of a sense of security than anything else. Doubtless the Empire would be looking for obviously injured people, with questions about how they got injured.
As he stepped into the garage, Petrus frowned, looking around at all the unfamiliar faces. At least seeing Mahon confirmed that he was in the right place.

The Jawa lets out a chortle of amusement.
"You might not call it a job, but it's a job. You're planning a jailbreak...a dangerous, high stakes jailbreak, but a jailbreak nonetheless. But whatever high minded ideals on it that you like. Don't worry, I'm flexible in payment...and those thugs have it coming after today."

Verse was fashionably late, arriving just in time to hear the two resistence leader-types talk about mounting their rescue operation. Good, that is what she was hoping for. At least she wouldn't have to try and assault the camp by herself to get Qareme out. She walked forward, her injuries mostly taken care of but their presence not entirely eliminated yet.
"Qareme tried to get me to be cautious about revealing what I am, but when I was stupid about it, she was right there with me. Because it was the right thing to do. It could've just as easily have been me that got taken by that... Sith inquisitor or whatever she was. She had my back, and I'm going to get *her* back. But Yusandr is right, if we're going to go, we should get *everyone* out. That's what Qareme would want too."

Petrus was not the only Karath there, however she was less brazen than her Jawa friend. Instead, Jax kept to the shadows as best as she was able. Trying her damnedest to stay out of ssight and glean what information she could.
[Should Inl stealth people's perception, or maybe have people perception my stealth? All except Petrus I figure.]

Arms crossed over his chest, Petrus nodded his agreement. "Verse is right. There's more people that need our help. We need to get as many of them as we can."

He sensed her before he saw her. Frowning, Petrus turned around, his blue eyes widening as he spotted the familiar figure.
After a moment, he smiled and nodded, obviously happy to see her.

OOC: Hard Stealth check with a setback as people are on edge.
Meanwhile...
Wearing a dark suit, a man worked his way through the crowd and said, “I suppose I signed up for this fool’s errand, Rayne Soras, late of the Imperial war machine. This will not be easy, but thankfully there are a few quirks in our favor there are no external defenses to Camp-14, it’s a prison not a fortress. The approach with a proper identifier should be smooth as commercial transports make drops for supplies.”
“Weggs if you would luv?” he added. She complied and put down a holo-map of what looked like a structure but it seemed incomplete.
“Apologize for the rough design, I had to build it from memory but Camp-14 is divided into two sections the Haven where the bulk of the Imperial staff and soldiers reside and the Dungeons where the prisoners are. Once our team has landed two members should break off for the Security section here to lockdown the Haven, this should cut down on resistance. From there they can also open the cells, some of the cells are not wired though so will need to be opened manually this includes solitary where the Jedi is most likely held.”
“A team with me will extract the Jedi and any others in solitary, we just need five sets of storm trooper armor an officer’s uniform for myself. There are transport the prisoners can use but I suggest we bring enough pilots, once the lockdown starts the rest of the transports can swoop in to bring added support.”
“We will have at best fifteen to twenty minutes maybe less if the Inquisitor is present.”

"I know a decent pilot we could bring in," she said. Honestly she didn't really remember his piloting skills but he seemed a decent sort and that was enough for her. "But where will we get stormtrooper armor?"

Jabber raises a hand. "Did you have a time planned? If it's right away, then the longer we wait the worse it gets. If you're doing recon...well, there's a possible distraction tomorrow that could draw Imperial forces away from the target?"
"As for duties, I'm not a bad lockpick, but I'm a little short for a Stormtrooper"

''Your plan is awfully simple''
Bowze came out of the alley from the same direction as the Jawa, hands behind his greyish robes and squinting at the map.
''But it is competent. More so then if the jedi or a drunk painter had made it''

“I have a hunch that’s already sorted out as of yesterday. Am I wrong?” Sinnya’s lekku twitched expressively (if opaquely, to anyone but another twi’lek) as she glanced at Weggs and Yusandr.

Petrus cleared his throat. "I don't mean to be rude, but can anyone vouch for you, Rayne? A simple mistake in memory, and you're just delivering a brand new batch of prisoners to the camp."
His blue eyes narrowed as he studied the former Imperial. Assuming that was true.

It was a fair point, he might be lying of course. So, Verse opened herself up to the Force, drawing upon its strength and the light within; hoping to if nothing else catch the man's emotional state. Even the best liars might feel *something* when doing so, right?

Bowze was dumbfounded, his jaw dropped in shock
This is the resistance?
The tall nemoidian massaged his temples and took a deep breath
''You are planning...no planning is too generous...you are cobbling together a rescue mission with such dubious intel? No wonder everything is going to shit.''
The nemoidian tried to supress a rictus
''You people have absolutely no clue of what you are doing''

She gets a brief insight of another building palatial estate perhaps, and a quick conversation, “Alderaan will stand with this so-called alliance… but we need more people to call this a real Alliance.”
Then Rayne’s voice, “You’re sending me to the arse end of the Republic… ahem Empire, but I’ll make contact one way or another, Senator Organa.”
“May the Force be with you,” the voice replied and then the flash of insight ends.
