[Day 2 - LA] No One Survives [Event-Combat]
Posted: Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:23 pm
by 13th Sister
OOC: This will be a combat thread for three players, this is a dangerous combat and the odds are in her favor. Facing a squad of five Elite Storm Troopers, Elite Trooper Sergeant, and 13th Sister. Engaging in this combat will increase Suspicion by .5 applied after the combat.
13th Sister had cut and sliced her way to the heart of the enclave and stood over the battered and broken form of Viati. She sneered under helmet and said, “Primitive, tell me where the Calm is?”
Viati spat at her and said, “I will never betray my people!”
“You seem to be laboring under the misconception that your people will survive this. If I don’t get what I want, I will burn your forest to the ground… every last primitive will die. Then there will be no Calm, and there will be no Aznuri,” she hissed at the woman before lifting her with the Force and tossing her outside as the flames grew in intensity.
The structure collapsed as she stepped through the fire and said, “Last chance, primitive.”
Her circular hilt blazed to life with twin crimson blades as she waited for an answer. Viati found the strength to rise and shouted, “The Aznuri Endure!”
“Pity,” she said with a casual pull of the force the young woman was pulled into the waiting crimson blade and then cast aside.
“Troopers, no one survives.”

OOC: This will remain open for the next 24ish hours and closed if not filled as combat tends to take a while and I don't want to feel rushed.

Verse had not expected the time to come so soon. She'd only just gotten back to the enclave, on her way to speak some more with Sister Viati; when disaster struck. The Empire was attacking, and any plans she might've had were null and completely void now. Worse, Viati was thrown from the building she'd been in, and then out after her came...
...the inquisitor! Or at least someone who looked like one; despite looking female and the inquisitor was supposedly a man. But that wasn't important. Not at all. For before she could even fully consider the matter, a strange red lightsaber ignited and Viati was struck by it.
"No!" She yelled out while running toward the scene.
She was reckless. She was stupid. This might be the end. Quareme would kill her if it wasn't.
But she couldn't just stand by and do nothing. She had to act. Because she was a *Jedi*.
...Her blue-colored lightsaber ignited.

This can't be happening. No!
It was too much like her nightmare, except that Sinn'yatar's dreams didn't come with
smell, whereas the air in the Enclave now was choked with tibanna fumes, burning building material, and an underlying whiff of blood.
She willed her hands to stop shaking and her breath to slow as she sighted through the scope of her rifle at the demonic figure--the Sith--with its terrible staff of fire. But there was someone else there too close for her to make her shot--
Oh
no. It was Viati.

Such carnage...
Qareme liked to consider herself a calm person. However, first the slums and now this. It was enough to knock even her innate calmness.
She gripped her walking stick tighter as the woman was cut down, and hearing Verse charge forward she moved quickly after the woman. Running after her, fake limping be damned at this point.
Her walking stick was less walking stick and more yellow glowing pike at this point.
D2 combat event cool init:

Jedi… foolish, I knew this would draw you out of hiding. Well come then,

The Storm Troopers and their leader turned to the heroes as their leader directed them with a hand motion, the
battle was joined.

Verse didn't have to be goaded into doing exactly that, as she ran forward in a full sprint; then launching herself into a short flip right up into the 13th Sister's face. Their two lightsabers clashing instantly before they were withdrawn and then clashing against one another again. And again. Verse had not used these skills in years, she'd even worried that she might've forgotten them altogether... but in this moment her training came straight back to her and she expertly managed to keep pace with the Sith woman...
...and then completely overwhelm her defenses as she flipped and twirled around once, then twice; her blue lightsaber slashing its way right through its crimson counterpart, breaking it beyond repair before the blue blade continued on further to strike against the sister's armor.
"It's not too late to go back to the Light!" She yelled at the woman.
The 13th sister had clearly underestimated this Jedi; who'se stance was ready to continue the fight if need be, though she hoped, however faint it might be, that redemption would be chosen.
Attacking the Inquisitor, Custom Grip (removes 1 setback):

2 triumphs used to destroy Sister's lightsaber.
3 threat used by DD for ?

The weapons clash and then the unthinkable happens as her lightsaber is destroyed slashing her mask revealing a hateful yellow eye and deep blue skin and strands of dark hair. She hissed and spun doing a kick to knock the lightsaber from Verse’s hand.
She hissed, “Your Order is dead… and you will soon join them, Jedi.”
OOC: She takes 3 wounds, but using the three Threat to cause Verse to drop her weapon. 13th Sister's weapon is destroyed and Parry is used for 3 Strain.

13th Sister flipped the spare lightsaber scooped up… ugh it was not what she wanted but it would have to do. It did take her back it only briefly… back to when she was weak and did what others wanted and not what she desired… thankfully Lord Vader had freed her of such limitations.
The blade flashed out and struck the young Padawan, “How do you even fight with this toy, Jedi?”
She followed the maneuver with a powerful kick to spin and distract the woman as she landed ready to do battle.

The Storm Troop leader was seasoned and barked for his men to regroup and they complied quickly gathering their weapons as he trained his weapon on Sinnya! The blast is pinpoint accurate as expected of a storm trooper.

The storm troopers knew they stood no chance this close to a Jedi so they dove into an adjacent building to give space and then leveled weapons on the weapon and fired! They didn’t strike the woman but one knocked her weapon from hand and the blast made her dive for cover!

Qareme had taken cover when her saber was shot out of her hands. Peeking round, she saw Verse in trouble from what looked like her own saber in te hands of the Inquisitor.
Not on my watch!
Qareme Rolled forward, scooping up her saber and jumped into the fray between Verse and the inquisitor. Her attack was parried easily by the woman, but she gave Verse some time at least.
(Move to stand, incidential to pick up weapon, strain to move into engaged with 13th sister. Attack - boost to next ally)

The woman was nimble and strong easily evading the attacks as she waited for her moment.

"Hey!" Verse yelled as her lightsaber was kicked out of her hands, "That isn't fair!"
And then the sister picked it up.
"Hey, that REALLY isn't fai-- aaah!"
She got struck by her own lightsaber, which was a pretty painful experience to be honest. Fortunately, she was pretty tough; and rather than wallow in the pain, she spun her body around to kick her lightsaber out of the sister's hands in a move mirroring the earlier setback, fate somehow allowing her to catch it in her hand while she simultaneously did a backflip.
"That's mine!"
This was a bad situation. The twi'lek girl was down. Sister Viati was down. Maybe it was time to retreat?
She moved toward the bleeding Viati.
Brawl against inquisitor, destiny, 1 setback from suspicion, 1 from defense, adversary 3.:
1eP+3eA+2eS+1eD+2eC 1 success, 2 threat, 1 Triumph, 1 Despair
Boost:
1eB 0 successes, 1 advantage
(so only 1 threat)
5 damage before soak/parry?
Triumph used to disarm/retrieve lightsaber and retreat back toward Viati as per discord discussion. Not sure how far of a distance that lets me travel so I'll throw in another 2 strain to use a maneuver to close as much distance as I can.
Despair for the despair dog.
9/17 wounds,
7/13 strain

13th Sister easily uses the weapon before losing it to evade any harm… “Take it Jedi… I don’t need your weapons to kill you.”
OOC: Despair used to upgrade her next check.

13th Sister circled the Jedi carefully and said, “Your friend betrayed you and ran… and now padawan, you are going to learn just how weak and pathetic you are.”
The woman came at her incredibly fast with knife hand strike and then a spinning kick that knocked her into a wall and was followed with her being slammed against the wall and the 13th Sister smirking as she caught the Jedi’s weapon.
She said aloud, “Execute, Order Viper’s Sting.”
There is a rush of air as a transport swoops in landing blocking the the path to the Inquisitor as she kciked the Jedi into the waiting arms of storm troopers. She followed quickly as her men started to pull back. She did not get the Aznuri… but a Jedi was an even bigger prize.
“Pilot, Camp-14… and tell Hrugos to continue the assault.”
She looked at the weapon she held and then down at the fires across the enclave and smiled. It had been a good day… despite her saber but at least she had the crystal.
OOC: Use Double Triumph to escape with Qareme. Combat is over. 9 strain before Parry and stuff.
13th Sister Brawl + despair + Destiny versus Zabrak Lady + Aim:
5eP+1eB+2eD+1eS 4 successes, 3 advantage, 2 Triumph

"No!" Verse glanced behind her as she moved toward the Aznuri and saw her fellow Padawan get overwhelmed and taken in what felt like an instant.
"Qareme!"
Damnit! Verse fell to her knees right beside Sister Viati, and grabbed one of her stimpacks to try and heal her. That was about all she knew how to do in medical terms, and she hoped it'd be enough. She then got back up again and moved toward the fallen Twi'lek, spotted one of the stimpacks at her belt and grabbed one to stim the girl with.
(1 stimpack used on Viati, one of Sinnya's stimpacks used on her)

Sinnya had fallen badly on a large lump of permacrete when the trooper's shot grazed her, knocking the wind out of her quite thoroughly, but she came around almost at once when the stim was applied.
"Is the Sith still here?" she muttered to the Mirialan she recognized from yesterday's adventure. Then, as her focus sharpened, "Viati! We have to get her!"
Verse rushed off then, and Sinnya limped after her more slowly, her heart hammering faster as they approached the spot where Viati lay.

"The Sith fled," she said to both of them, "but... she took Qareme. I don't know where. Probably that Camp-14 we've heard about. We have to... I mean I have to get her back. After all this... can you both walk? I fear the danger is not over yet, there's still fighting going on."
