We can't stand with a committed force power unless we take the -2 strain per the houserules? I figured maybe since we're obviously going into combat it might be possible to activate it just prior to combat as a reaction to what's happening, but it's good either way just wanting to be sure.

Am I reading correctly that the Light in the Darkness only gives Light points if you get a Triumph, and otherwise sets up for The Anzuri Endure (which gives you a Light Point on success)?

I would check equipment lists but sensors on a ship could do it.

No, you need ship sensors like a starship or large transport. Your rental has lights and a basic computer.
