Subject: [D3LE] Warrior's Heart: A New Chapter

Perhaps fortunately, Petrus couldn't hear Mia and Dove speculating. The show was about to start...

"Previously, on Warrior's Heart..." the narrator was an older man, rough and weathered.

A man and a woman, standing together in their undergarments, before a Mandalorian in full armor holding hammer and tongs. "Do you, Jaina Clearbrooke, take this man, Dacen Stormheart..." An explosion cuts of his words, blaster fire beginning to rain down, screams everywhere

"Those are the two main characters. She's from, like, eighty years ago, but she traveled through time. I told you guys that, right? Uh..."

The preview went on.

"You can't leave them." Jaina was yelling, tears in her eyes.

Dacen slammed his hands on the table. "I have to. I'm sorry. But I swore an oath. My hands are tied, cyar'ika."

"But our baby..." "ENOUGH!"

Jaina turned away, her chin tilting up. "Than I shall save them without you." She whispered, as his gaze dropped.

"So, when they cleansed the corrupted spirit of the First Mandalore, her baby inherited some of his essence, and... shoot..." Petrus stopped as the next recap came.

A Caamasi woman reeled back in horror. "No! They must be told! You can't keep this secret!"

She ran from the room, making to the top of a flight deck. And then, screaming, she fell, to lie crumpled on the ground. The holorecorder snapped back to the view above, a man's face hidden in darkness, handsome but cold...

"That was gonna be the best man at their marriage, you know, before the Kryze attack..."

Monitors beeped, the Caamasi woman was lying in a hospital bed. Jaina was there, holding her hand.

"Thank goodness you're awake, Aaliq. Are you okay?" Aaliq (apparently) shook her head, her eyes widening.

"I don't know. I can't remember... I can't remember anything!"

Melancholy string instruments began to play, with the occasional martial horn note, and drums. And the occasional manly grunt.

I desperately need this show in my real life.

Sinn had never actually flown a TIE before, or any kind of starship. She'd already noticed the inertial dampeners in this thing were way better than any airspeeder she'd ever handled, though.

"Hold tight. This is crazy, but I've heard spinning is a good trick!"

She wrenched the yoke and threw the TIE into a wild spin, hoping to throw the madwoman off by sheer centrifugal force.

Verse has delivered us art. It is glorious.

Verse needed to unwind after the day's events, and a festival celebrating good art was just the thing. Not that she knew much about art of course; so when she decided to participate she had no idea what to actually do for her entry. People did always say you should write about what you know. Maybe the same applied to painting? Well, it couldn't hurt, so that's what she did. Paint something she knew.



It was perhaps her very worst work ever.

Even she knew it. But the point of unwinding wasn't to be the best at something, right? It was about having fun. And... oh no, she had to present this to a crowd of art critics? Well... better try and bullshit them!

"Ahem, everyone? What do you think of when you see this painting? I think of victory. I think of victory in the face of adversity! Friendship! Overcoming impossible odds! As seen through an imperfect lens and juxtaposed against the... hey, where are you going? Get back here! Ahem, I mean, you can all leave and go look at other paintings if you want. You just don't understand the brilliance at work here!"

She sighed. Then giggled as the last art critic left her behind.

I do not pass go, do not collect 200 credits, and may god have mercy on my soul.

I was just super-amused at this moment of lady-spy confusion.

Subject: Not the beer! (Day 4 Mid Afternoon)

It was a lazy afternoon for Astin, and he found himself standing in Mynerva's chatting with the bartender when the earthquake struck. Luck was on his side as everything started shaking, and he was on his feet and able to dodge away from any injury.

Unfortunately the beer he was holding was not so lucky, and more then half of it found it's way on the floor. A truly terrible loss.

Oh no. That was not good. That was not good at all! With a hand on each of Veras' shoulders Xanna gave her a serious look. "This is difficult to hear, but you have to be very careful now. In Warrior's Heart the heroes always escape unscathed, even if they are attacked by a stealth-shielded mega-rancor. I think they had used up all their budget before that episode. But listen, my point is that in the real world spies get caught. Bad things happen to good people. The Empire would like bad things to happen to all of us, especially your father."

Her expression softened. "We do not want anything bad to happen to you Veras. So please be careful."

Oh no. Now the mega-rancors have stealth shielding.

Bankor: The Rygor region is at about 38 degrees C by late afternoon to balance the fiery humours please consume cool water; a rather dusty and sandy day though the desert is at about 40 to 43 by that time but the bilious humours are ascendant so please have a bantha burger, while the Jaklu region is at a pleasant 23 to 25 C and cloudy with heavy rain throughout the afternoon hours the morning hours. The Sky Tree Sea is a balmy of 39 C and very humid.

“Made sure the rodian family was secure, nursed the youngest on formula ma’am and then noticed you were out so I gathered my gear to get a patrol of the perimeter. I saw Imperial vehicles so I followed and then once I saw you engage I knew that had to be the sign. Very clever with the non-verbal commands, General,” he said with a military clip.

“Far cry from the clankers, but it felt good to hit the Empire where it hurts.”

Petrus blinked as Xanna suddenly performed a pretty good lift, and then dashed away. He took a deep breath. Well, he'd just have to trust her, too.

Instead, he moved quickly into the cafe, and from there to Veras and Djanik's table. "Hello there." He said, waving cheerfully, even as his blue eyes held worry. "Sorry to interrupt, but your dad's old pupil was just sending some friends of his to check on you. Maybe you should get a rain check?" He nodded towards the back door.

Meanwhile out at the back of the cafe...

Xanna had enjoyed a low key professional conversation with the chef. He had to get back to to work so she waited for the others to appear.

She had turned the volume down on Ensign Bryce's comlink to a more sensible level and was now listening in to Imperial communications while keeping watch for storm troopers.

Over the comm were reports:

“She has a speeder now…” came a trooper.

“Maker, where is the Ensign… where am I… I think I am lost,” another chimed in.

“Clear the channel I got her in my sights, sector…” and then static. It clears up and there is Liua’s voice, “This is… Trooper Sleemo, I’m uhh… just fine.”

“Who is this?” another called.

“Everything is fine here… just uhh, lost my helmet,” she replied.

“Give me your designation!” another voice shouted.

“Jays for life!” and then more chaotic chatter.

Liua is giving me life here. xD

Meanwhile the daring and handsome and also very heroic Lt. Higgy Wiggs made last minute adjustments as his Tie Fighter made an approach vector. “This is Lt. Wiggs I see the ship, moving to intercept.”

Don’t worry momma, I will make you proud he thought as he gunned the engine. The cockpit rattled and shook as he focused on the dastardly rebels! He touched the picture of his best girl, Marta, they were gonna get married when he got back.

Just three more weeks.
