Scavenger Club

Well may we well make a thread for this.
So my immediate thought is that we should check out the ship graveyard. Though I think we may need a speeder car or some other form of transportation to get there.
Anyways, opening this up for suggestions on where to go and what dates to aim for to do this. If the club gets to big we can also go as smaller groups. Like 2 groups of 4 and go on separate days. Just a thought.
Why am I here? Cause treasure hunting is always fun.

Maybe, maybe not. There wouldn't be anyone guarding it if it was though!

Oh, I definitely need parts that I can maybe use for my glowstick, so I'd be up for a scavenging trip!

I can do the guarding. He can leave the scavenging to the experts. He would want his cut or maybe an in on getting a ship.
Though I think we may need a speeder car or some speeder bikes to get there and maybe to carry anything heavy/bulky we may find.

What exactly does "scavenging" entail mechanically? I would guess that foraging for, um, nature stuff would be Survival, but I have no idea re: searching for relics or mechanical parts...
(Am quite solid at Survival and Perception... and shooting. Don't really need mechanics bits too much since I'm not much good at using 'em, but would be happy to assist those who do for a share in barter or cash.)

Though my speeder bike isn't much of a junk hauler.

At base, it depends on what you're looking to scavenge. Perception is always useful for spotting things, but there are various skills for knowing what will be helpful/useful and not just dangerous or junk: Survival for picking out safe food or herbs, computers for salvageable electronics, Mechanics for worthwhile parts, Underworld if you were looking for illicit goods, Xenology or Knowledge (Lore) iif you were looking for relics or artifacts.... etc.
But they're just very general guidelines. Not a lot of definitions as to difficulty or examples... beyond it taking half the time if you shout "Utinni!".

Scavenging tends to be an Average Streetwise check under ideal conditions.

Sandcrawler would be neat.
Hmm.. what day do people want to try going for? D1 may be too early.
Do you guys think we should form up teams of 4? Mainly to keep the threads from getting too bloated and so that the group is more manageable for DD. Plus I figure that a speeder car can only really seat 4 people max, unless someone knows for sure.

Depends on the speeder, we could get a skiff which usually seats more

I recommend team scavenging because for the most part it's mostly just me saying what you found and that's usually the extent of my interaction unless something bad happens.
At least you can RP with others. I should add there should be a single roll for the scavenging but you can assist and it takes the whole slot.

The bigger speeders can seat up to six, as far as listed passenger capacity.

Yeah, definitely group stuff. If nothing else I intended to hire muscle myself, and we have plenty of muscle willing to come along it seems. ^^

I'm not what most would call "muscle" but I'm good at protection.

Looks like we're going to need a lot of scavenging trips if everyone who'se assisting is to have a decent amount of materials to mod/craft with, even with whoever's doing the rolling having good stats.
But hey, that just means more excuses for RP?
