State of the Galaxy
The Galactic Empire is rising from the ashes of the Galactic Republic, the Senate still exists but they take their cue from the Emperor and most have fallen in line with his wishes to create a secure and peaceful galaxy. The Clone troopers are quickly being phased out for Storm Troopers, the few that remain in service serve in the infamous 501st, the rest seem to be retiring whatever that means.
For the average citizen life is as it was, though the loss of the Jedi Order that had stood for untold millennium is surprisingly weathered well as they were exposed as traitors to the Republic and nearly took over but were thankfully defeated and purged by the Emperor. For many citizens who knew little of the reclusive and mystical order their loss is considered a sign of progress. The Empire has painted them as religious zealots and fanatics and their destruction was needed.
Yet there are a great many that remember the Jedi Order and the Republic as a bastion of light and good and this new Empire is proving to be despotic and authoritative and in the Core exceedingly oppressive.
There is grumbling on many worlds of resistance especially on those worlds that were part of the Confederacy or have seen their fortunes decline since the rise of this ne Galactic Empire, there is no official galactic rebellion yet but the seeds are being planted for what may eventually become the Rebellion.
This is a time of darkness throughout the galaxy, ignorance rises, the power of the Empire is ascendant and all enemies are slowly being choked out and pushed to the outer regions. The Senate is slowly being stripped of powers and authority and that power consolidated in the hands of the Emperor and the Imperial machine.
In the hidden places there are still lights in the darkness, but will they grow or be snuffed out?
