Interim #2

by Dapper Dog
The Resistance: The Resistance suffered a blow but they have bounced back as many core members start to help and build specialties into what was a rag tag band of trouble makers into something approaching a real opposition. Rayne Soras came through with additional ships and support from off world, the members put in hard work and turned a glorified bunker into a functioning base and living space and they even found a scuttled Clone Wars cruiser and began bringing it back to working order.
The Aznuri refugees have banded together and work now hand in hand with the Resistance and the Chaldi and Hbanu tribes have offered their aid as well to the Resistance. Even Vandil, true to her word, has been feeding agents of the Resistance vital information on movements in Rygor in return for some dubious backdoor deals. There are whispers that something big is coming.
The Jedi: While Oraka still does training at his home he does take a tour of the Orlandis Temple and does his best to impress upon the others that trips should be minimized so as not to expose the new resource to aid with this Guardian Malvik produces a secure transmitter device that allows Master Surro to interact with people at the Cabin or at Varo’s Sword, this is a fixed device so she can’t move around but she is accessible.
Master Surro provides training in the Temple as well and any Jedi that wishes to spend time there is welcome, Valus spends his time at the temple now while Neela has established a modest cabin on the island with another woman who works at the clinic away from the base and all the faces that glare at her, for good reason.
Oraka senses the time is coming for many of them to face their trials and be the Jedi they were meant to be.
The Crimson Dawn: News spreads fast that Tididol the Hutt died, a chem overdose is what is spread and Vandil with little opposition because her major rivals, including the Sand Demon, in the local cartel were dead. She seized control and then made it known she was now with the Crimson Dawn which would have initiated more violence but there was no one left to challenge her. Now it’s just her and the Disciple, the Disciple has the backing of Dryden Voss and Vandil has the backing of an unknown but powerful figure and everyone is whispering if they can work together or if a war is coming.
With the mounting body count in the slums… a war seems most likely. Vandil is a ruthless monster but she has supported the Resistance and is a known quantity, but the Disciple seems to be willing to pay more and wiling to kill anyone that gets in her way and has no desire to assist the Resistance.
Bankor: The people of Bankor are in a tough spot although the Empire is building schools and doing good works they are also cracking down hard on anyone that is even remotely suspected to be aligned to the Resistance. It is a dark time and there are rumors it may get worse… much worse.

by Xanna Teevou
Xanna spends much of the next few weeks in training with Master Oraka, developing her connection to the force and her skills with the lightsaber. She also works closely with Valus as a friendly face to aid in his recovery and redemption, and takes the position of Jedi liaison to the Resistance.
Turning 20 standard years old in the interim ("You look good for an old person." - Liua) she celebrates with her friends and presents a gift to each of her fellow 'Jays' (Jedi Padawans and trainees). The designs have a unifying theme of blue, black, and grey, but are tailored to suit each person.
Jedi trainees receive the following from Xanna before Day 7 begins. Feel free to use them or not!
Armoured clothes: +1 Soak, +1 Melee defense, 2 Enc, 0HP

by Sacha Ordo
Sacha is extremely busy in the three weeks that pass after they Resistance rebuilds Varo's Sword. She spends the first week and a half finally building the armor she'd been working so hard toward for the previous month. She's proud of what she accomplishes, but decides that it needs some improvements. In particular, it needs beskar to be truly complete, and the design is built to accommodate it in the future.
She also fulfills a request from a fellow Mando, Venator, for his own suit of armor. As the first suit of high quality armor she's built for another of her people, it's a turning point for her.
She does find time to spend with Juri, Daunt, and Dak during that time. For the Resistance, she helps with equipment as needed, often making improvements at cost.
Once she finishes the complete focus on her own armor, she encounters Neela Takee at the base, and, not recognizing her, they eventually decide to begin Sacha's training. However, after a week, Sacha has realized the other's identity. While she has been trying to keep her cool, there's only so much tension that can build before it finally breaks...

by Jabber
Jabber spends his time over the weeks scurrying around the planet, picking up odds and ends. There are a million and one things that the CIS could use, and their current credit count said they could afford maybe four of them. So the Jawa goes back and forth, setting up deals on supply lines, helping things fall off the back of speeders...but increasingly, his efforts focus on construction.
Not the engineering that Vaya, Ela and Djanik were doing, getting ships on line, droids repaired and the facilities up and running. Not the programming Bowze was doing with that doo-dad he had liberated from the museum vault. No, Jabber finds himself working on cementing the organization itself. They all have too varied backgrounds, too varied goals, too different demeanors, attitudes and visions to simply all be stuck together and just *decide* to be one group. No, the Jawa want to profit from everything in sight, Huk’s men are fiercely loyal and HYDRA...could politely be described are “strongminded” with a “clear vision”. As much as Jabber respects the vision that Bowze brought to them, and the leadership Djanik shows in getting things online, well, doesn’t eliminate the fact that (for whatever reason) persons tended to be rubbed the wrong way after dealing with them. So, it’s the adorable Jawa who comes in, sometimes playing the bad guy, but offering a concession or some gear to soften the blow. Sometimes, he’s the one to mediate when things flare up.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Jabber makes a point of being a point of contact to the Resistance proper, especially with the Senator.

by Ru'ni Wayne
The attempted redemption of Neela was a critical moment to Ru'ni. The inquisitor who had almost murdered Sister Viati (the woman Ru'ni loved) was not only being allowed to live, but was being welcomed with open arms into the Resistance; Ru'ni could not abide it.
In the three weeks that passed, Ru'ni has not set foot back in the base known as Varo's Sword. He pulled back from the Resistance entirely, although his former allegiances were well known among the people of the area and he still helped the common folk whenever he could. He still believed in the Resistance and what they were doing, the anger in his heart would not permit him to work directly with them in any capacity right now.
Returning home to the Sky Tree Sea, Ru'ni was greeted with another shock, as the elders told him that until he could let go of the anger and hatred that filled him, he would not be permitted to commune with the Calm again. Centuries of work to cleanse and purify the soul of their culture could not risk being rotted from the inside once more.
Between being cut out from the heart of his people, his self imposed exile from the Resistance and the Imperial lockdown of Rygor and Jaklu, Ru'ni finds himself adrift on the winds of fate, alone in the dark with his thoughts, and they are not kind...

by Jenna Karath
Fear festers and infects, but time can heal many wounds too. Eventually, Jenna finds herself getting comfortable with life again, as it is, and steps down off a wave of despair that overtook her when Vandil played her hand and beat Jenna to the punch. Not dead yet, she knew that being alive meant that there was always something she could do, something she could figure out, another path would open eventually. Yet every night the terror returned, the thought of what might happen to her family if she didn't play things perfectly, if she failed. That too became normal, given time, and she found ways to deal with the lack of sleep it often imposed on her.
Safety, was something she sought, and she found it in the knowledge that she could still do something if she ever was backed into a corner again. Even if it was fruitless, the security of a blaster at her side gave her peace. Still, she didn't know how to fire a weapon, well she knew the basics you might get from a serial drama or the like, but she'd never practiced or trained with a real weapon before. That was something she sought to change and sought out for herself someone who might be able to help.
A chance encounter brought her together with Jin Serasai once she joined the rest of the new rebels, and they hit it off.. in a sense. Jin became that mentor for her and early morning trips to the beach to practice her training as something of an amateur marksman became commonplace. So much so that it became routine, eventually sleeping with her blaster close to her bedside. It helped, it made the sleepless nights go away more often than not.
Time, and effort, helped her recover, move on, but the seed of fear in her heart nurtured itself even still.

by Qareme Torth
In the aftermath of the attack on the resistance, with Valus and Neela returning to the light as well as the discovery of a perfectly preserved Jedi temple, it should be cause for celebration among the Padawns. For Qareme, while she had been pleased and has continued to help Neela with her return, there are lingering doubts about herself. The failed trial had shaken her in a way she had never experienced, and it has made her question her own training.
Trying to use it as a way to refocus, Qareme spent a lot of time at the temple on the moon, staying behind during one of the trips and remaining there for a weak to work on her inner calmness which she feels like she has achieved. Being at such a serene place has also helped her feel more connected to the force. Master Surro has done a lot to help her, and while Qareme still goes to Master Hin she is sure he can see the slight hesitation in her actions.
As the planet becomes even more locked down, Qareme knows she will be needed more and more. A darker shadow still is set to descend onto the planet, and for the first time Qareme is not sure she is ready....

by Dove Gray
Few saw Dove at all after the rescue operation ontop of the Foundry, as she seemed to take the events exceptionally hard on herself. The crew of the Coyote saw her occassionally for meals, but her interaction remained limited the first days. Privately, the spy went through a rare mental breakdown over her failures in seeing through the Empire's deception.
But a few days later, Dove reemerged, more focused and hardened than before. A part of her had been lost, but in return she had grown from the experience.
Knowing that a Resistance-movement couldn't live on her and a couple of others alone, especially seeing how the past month had taken such a toll on herself for having shouldered too much on her own, Dove Gray threw herself at building up a unit of operatives for the Resistance, along with Jurdak Surt.
In the short time, she has become more of a leader and a teacher to others, rather than a lone wolf.

by Ria'la Tu'roth
With the communications available at Varo's Sword open to his use Ria'la spends the time available contacting the many and varied cells resisting the Empire and helps to spread the stories and victories of said resistance far and wide. Anything to build Hope that this might work.
The loss of his home and job has been levelled out by the duties for the Resistance meaning his slide into alcoholism has been arrested for now. Not reversed, merely halted at the current level. He still drinks too much for one of his stature.
Also he is occasionally seen to be apparently bunking with Rayne. Not all the time. Just occasionally. He even remembers to call him Rayne most of the time now, leaving the moniker of 'Handsome' for private use.

by Djanik
In the last few weeks, Djanik began to focus on recruiting pilots, old and new, and coordinating with the rebel supply chain on getting together some semblance of a squadron.
When that task was achieved, he turned his focus to training that squadron on flying together, covering for each other, and getting some level of comfort working as a team. He began relentless training his pilots, especially the less experienced, passing on as much expertise as he could in order to get the rebel forces ready to not all die in their first serious dogfight. In addition, he began asking the squadron to meet while grounded, sharing some time chatting, watching holovid shows, or even playing smash ball on the beach - helping them learn to interact as, if not friends, at least comrades. Those who asked why he had allowed Veras to join his squadron were answered with 'do you think I could stop her?'
His knowledge of Republic equipment and tactics also meant that he would spend what time he had remaining on preparations for the Mahon - both directing repairs when unusual Republic equipment was at play, or training crew on Republic consoles and operating procedures. Though he wasn't in command of the vessel, he would still have a role in shaping the crew who would operate it - so he feels a sense of ownership in making sure it will survive its first outing.
Though his only leadership role is in his squadron, he's been a frequent resource for mechanics, crew, and staff to call on for experience with specific Republic materials - so he's a recognizable face for many parts of the base - making any attempts to hide his identity a moot point.
Sparingly, as he has time, he's kept tabs on the street kids remotely, pass them small donations of snacks and useless bits of tech for amusement - just to keep them out of trouble.

by Daunt
Daunt spent most of the intermission outside of the rebel base, performing odd jobs like breaking legs for Crimson Dawn, both branches, until the fall of Tididol the Hutt. After that he took a break from criminal activities and sailed away somewhere with Lyla on a small speed yacht he kept as loot from some Hutt loyalist and renamed "The Hornblower". He was not heard from for the rest of the time and so didn't take sides in the conflict between the Disciple and Vandil.
Amid the Resistance he kept being constructive and helpful, aiding his close acquaintances in their respective pursuits, but never committed to any of the rapidly organising hierarchies within the Rebel movement. Those who knew him better than most could tell that he was nevertheless growing angrier and more short-tempered than before.

by Jurdak Surt
Along with the lovely Dove Gray Jurdak has been working to get the intelligence division of the resistance up and running. He looked to Jenna Karath as one of the first he would recruit for the job as he saw a lot of raw potiential with the girl.
Dak also requisitioned a ship from the resistance, one that he planned to get repaired and docked out for stealth missions that required speed and possibly might need to go off planet.
During the little down time he had he made a point to spend as much of it with Dove after she started to pick up his comms again as well as Sacha, Juri and Daunt. Though he could feel the last going down a darker path.

by Venator Praedae
Venator spends the next few weeks looking into securing a ship along with Sacha. They manage to find a fixer upper. In the meantime, he gets some custom armour made for himself and continues hunting down bounties.
