Clueless [D1MA]

[Petrus Karath]

"Oh, I, uh..." Smiling awkwardly, Petrus brushed a hand back through his hair. He laughed as she did. "You know, one of these days, I'm actually gonna have a clever response when you say something like that to me." He said, smiling ruefully. He'd gotten a bit smoother over the years, but Dove was still a bit too much for him to handle.

"Hmmm." Petrus nodded. "You're probably right. There's a lot about what they did that I didn't understand, but at least I got some of it. Otherwise, I just know what you've told me." His lips quirked. "And when Jaina Calmbrooke went undercover to spy on the Clan's enemies. But that might not count."

He browsed a little further along the aisle. "Maybe we should do another session sometime, huh? Teach me some more of your stuff?"

She snickered. "Better start practising then. Best I increase my rate of remarks so that you'll become more used to them." All those hours watching holos had to pay off for him eventually.

"Eh, yeah... don't believe everything you see in the holos," Dove shook her head a little. There was a lot that tv left out. "But sure... we can do that. You were thinking of sparring, or...?"

"Yeah, sure." Petrus gave her a wry smile. "Haven't gotten your fill of seeing me blush and sputter lately, huh? Okay. Bring it on, Dove." Sometimes Dove did make him feel like he was an awkward teen again, desperately trying to answer a question Master Secura asked without stammering. But she also could put him at ease.

Shrugging, Petrus slipped the boxers into a bag, moving on to swimsuits. He seemed to be looking at relatively modest ones, anyway. "Sparring? Yeah sure. Whatever you think is a good idea. The things you've showed me have helped keep me alive these last few years. I feel like I'm gonna need it all, soon."

"Always happy to help out, you know that." Following him to the swimwear, she eyed some of the more tight and revealing speedos, wondering what Petrus would look like in those.

"You got pretty good natural talent at fisticuffs though, so you're not lacking too much in that department. Was there something else you wanted to learn? Like shooting with a blaster?"

Frowning, Petrus leaned in a little closer to look at one of the speedos. After a moment, his eyebrows went up. "Yikes." He said. "That, uh, is that a popular item?" His lips quirked. "Maybe depending on other factors?"

"Blaster? Maybe." Lifting one hand, he looked down at it with a frown, as though trying to imagine it holding a blaster. "Most of us didn't use them. I think the older teachers discouraged it. Not actively, but in little ways." Uncivilized. He could almost hear Master Kenobi's wry sarcasm.

He looked over at Dove. "Maybe in blending in? You can definitely draw attention, but when you want to, you just become another person in the crowd. I think I've gotten better, but..." He sighed, "-I think I'm gonna need to do that even more, now."

Dove just laughed at his reaction, and gestured for the shorts instead. They seemed more like something he'd feel comfortable in.

"Sure, we can do that. And in a way, we're already doing it by updating your wardrobe, right?" she gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. There were a few tips and tricks she'd have to pass on to him, but this was not the place.

With a sheepish smile, Petrus selected one of the more modest items, a nice material in Dark Burgundy. It would probably look good on a Nice Young Man like him.

"Yeah." He smiled at the reassuring touch on his shoulder. "I guess so. Blend in, and impress the ladies. Perfect." He quipped.

Tucking the last item into the basket he'd found, he looked at Dove. "Anything else? I feel like we should at least take a quick look for you. Come on." He waved an arm. "I'll buy you a new lip gloss, or, uh, eye-pencil, or... make-up stick." He brushed a hand through his hair. "Maybe I don't know much about women's beauty products."

Her fingers touched her pointed chin in a thoughtful gesture. "Hmmm... a lady can never have too many lipsticks, I guess. Or is there something else you think I should get? New underwear, or a new swimsuit for that trip?" she nudged him once more in a teasing manner.

[Petrus Karath]

"Oh, I, uh..." Petrus made pretty much the same noises from before. After a moment, he chuckled, shaking his head. "Hah, and even after you warned me." He grinned. "I'm sure whatever underwear you have is more than stylish enough. Would've made all my fellow students jealous, I'll bet."

He raised one eyebrow, fingers coming up to stroke his chin. "On the other hand... do you have a swimsuit? Maybe you want one in the local style. To fit in, y'know?" Hey, maybe he was getting a little better at this...

"I do have a swimsuit, and it happens to be white and very stylish." She did prefer the monochromatic-shades, after all. "The only place I don't fit in with that would be on the Tattooine Swimming Team."

[Petrus Karath]

"The Tattooine swimming team?" Petrus' eyebrows went up. "Isn't that a desert planet? How would that even work? Do they just find a soft but buoyant sand dune?"

He spread his hands. "Well, I'm just saying. We could take a look. See if you see anything special for the trip. Y'know, if you wanted..."

[Dove Gray]

"It's a joke I heard once, because yeah, Tattooine is supposedly just sand, sand, sand, sand everywhere." Dove laughed softly. "But ok, sure, we can check it out."

Since they were already in the department for swimwear it wasn't exactly a long ways away to find lady swimwear. There was probably no surprise that Dove was first looking at the two-pieces that showed off a lot of figure.

In truth, Petrus hadn't quite realized what he was getting into. His blue eyes widened, just a little, upon spotting some of the two-pieces. His eyes flickered from the swimsuit, to Dove, and back to the swimsuit.

"I suppose that even, ah, a former student like me can see the appeal to some of these." Petrus said, smiling blandly. "See anything you like?"

"Hmmm..." there was a white two-piece that had her attention. And after a moment of consideration, she shufled skillfully through the sizes on the rack until she found the one that would suit her.

"This one!"

[Petrus Karath]

"Alright. Good pick, good pick." Petrus nodded encouragingly, smiling. It looked like she was happy with it. Which made him happy in turn.

"Guess we're good to go, huh? I'm glad you got something, too. Or do you need to try it on?" Petrus rather suspected that Dove knew her measurements by heart.

[Dove Gray]

"Nah, no need. I know what will fit me," she waved off the suggestion. "I know you just want a chance to steal a peak at me changing, but it's not happening."

[Petrus Karath]

"Ooh. Found me out." Petrus grinned. "And here I thought I was being clever. Guess I really do need some more lessons, huh?"

Slowly, he lead the way over to the register. "Thanks again, Dove." He said as they walked. "It was fun. And hey, I always wanted to try being stylish."

"Any time, kid. Small moments like this, moments of normalcy, is needed in times like these." She gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder. "And I had a good time too."

Petrus' smile was warm. "I'm glad. See, I know how to have a good time, huh?"

Some shuffling and the exchange of a few credits, and they had their purchases.
