[Dove Gray]

"Nah," she assured him with a warm tone, "most ladies like some muscle, but not all muscle, if you know what I'm saying. You're in pretty good shape, Petrus, so I'm sure if you showed off more, you'd get lots of attention from the local ladies."

She paused for a moment. "Besides... actors like that Dacen Stormheart are really fit, but the reason he looks so incredibly ripped in those shirtless scenes is because he's dehydrating himself to make his muscles look even more defined. And to channel Mia for a moment; that ain't healthy for you."

[Petrus Karath]

"Huh." Petrus' voice was muffled again. "Well. Huh." A short pause. "I dunno. I mean, can you see me showing off? Besides, I don't know if I want lots of attention. Just the right attention. From the right lady." A chuckle. "Well, maybe two or three. I mean, you keep saying I should experience more of life, right?"

He stepped out, spreading his arms to show off another garment.

"Living life a little is good for you, kid. You missed out on a lot of normal stuff earlier."

The jacket got a whistle of approval. "Ah, now that's a very nice look. A bit rough and cool, and also lets you blend in more with the crowd. Very nice. You should get that one, or something like it."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus grinned. "Alright, I like that. Rough and cool, huh? I don't think I've ever been rough and cool before."

He started to step back into the dressing room, and then paused. "You think I need anything else? Pants? Scarf? And are you getting anything for yourself, or is this 'all about Petrus' day today?"

[Dove Gray]

"Pants, for sure," she paused, "a scarf would look cool too. Not that you really need one now other than for looks. This planet is so kriffin' hot... makes me miss the more civilized worlds that have weather control."

Arkania didn't seem to bad now either.

"But this is your day, Petrus. You need some wardrobe updates to fit in better with the crowds."

[Petrus Karath]

"Hmmm." Petrus murmured agreement as he vanished again. "Hey, you ever been to Jaklu? It's by the coast. It's nice. Fresh air, cool breezes. Cram berries. I brought a few of those back. Remind me tonight."

He stepped back out, wearing a slightly different collection of clothes. "I feel like I've gotten better at blending in. Years of practice and all that..." He spread his hands. "I don't know, maybe I'm fooling myself."

Her eyes narrowed critically at the next garment.

"That is really not your color..." she commented, and shook her head. "As for Jaklu... just a short trip once. Isn't it just farms and stuff out there?"

[Petrus Karath]

"Right. Lemme try a red one, then."

The change only took a few moments, and he came out with the red version, a much better match for his existing clothes.

"Farms, trees, beach...". His eyebrows went up. "Some sort of hot spring resort?" Maybe she'd find that more interesting.

"Hot spring resort," she gave a whistle. "That sounds nice. I could use a little holiday." When was the last time she had something like that? Felt like she had been running nonstop ever since she left Arkania.

Seeing the outfit, Dove gave a thumbs up. "Red's a good color for you. Goes with your hair. And freckles. And hey, you should pick up some swimwear too if we're gonna hit that resort!"

Petrus grinned. "Ha. Thought I'd get you with that one." He smiled, regarding her with tilted head again. "And you're right. I think you could use a little holiday.

He stepped back into the dressing room, but left the door open this time, as he arranged the clothing into separate piles, of keeps and not keeps, wavering uncertainly over the tighter red top. "We, huh? Okay, sure. Sounds fun. Think Mia will go for it?"

He frowned down at the piles. "Guess we gotta pick out some swimwear, too." Petrus murmured. They hadn't in their initial selection, of course.

"Maybe, she could use some time to unwind and have fun too. Betcha she was probably captain of the water-polo team or something back on Chandrila." Dove laughed at the idea, but it wouldn't surprise her. Mia was surprisingly sporty. So was Petrus, but she doubted the Jedi had much sports-activities after school.

Since he left the door open, Dove peeked inside to catch a glimpse of what he was doing.

"At least swimwear isn't too difficult to shop. Kind of like shopping for underwear."

Petrus laughed easily. "Yeah, she probably was. Seems like she's done every sport at least a little, except maybe Huttball.."

Inside, he'd just finished separating the two piles, adding a fairly stylish pair of pants to the 'keep' pile. And the tighter red top.

He looked at her with a wince. "You're not saying I need to get more underwear too, do I?"

"I dunno," a sharp look below his belt. "Do you?"

For all she knew, Jedi had magical underwear that protected their virginity and superpowers.

[Petrus Karath]

"Uh... I dunno." Petrus shifted uncomfortably under Dove's gaze. Thankfully not penetrating gaze. "Probably not. I mean, not that I'm aware of. But if my fashion expert says so..." He spread his hands.

He cleared his throat. "Maybe just swimwear. I mean, it's not like I'm gonna go jogging around the neighborhood in my new jacket and underwear, right?"

"Hmmm..." Dove looked away, perhaps scouting for where they might find swimwear. Or underwear.

"Doesn't hurt to pick up some new ones. When's the last time you got yourself new underwear, anyway? Or do you guys have some special rules about underwear?"

[Petrus Karath]

A salesperson drew near, but seeing no response from either Petrus or Dove, quickly faded away to a discreet distance. The swimwear and underwear sections were adjacent, in fact, and not too far off from the dressing rooms.

"No special rule, no." Petrus said, amused, as they began to make their way over. "More of a general rule, of things that we shouldn't really be that concerned about. I would describe it as..." His lips pressed together a moment. "Functional. And... tan."

Dove shook her head disapprovingly. "Sounds dreadfully boring. And stifling." She heaved a heavy sigh. That kind of stuff sounded really unhealthy to her.

"Lemme hold your stuff, and you can see if you can find some new underwear, and some swimwear too." The tall blonde offered her arms to take the burden of piles of clothes. "Preferrably something not-tan. If you ever go on a date and get lucky, you wouldn't want to be standing there in boring, well-worn, tan and functional garments, right?"

[Petrus Karath]

"Maybe." Petrus shrugged. "Really, it's just something that we weren't supposed to concern ourselves with. Like..." he coughed delicately, "-getting lucky."

Reddening, he passed his things over to Dove. "But, uh, maybe I'll pick some up. I guess."

He circled around to the other side of a display, lips quirking as he examined the merchandise. "Not me, but some had some fashionable stuff. It was really more of a guideline, anyway." The shrug of his shoulders was just visible. "In a lot of ways, we were pretty normal.". Or maybe he still didn't realize how not normal they were.

"Everyone should get lucky once in a while," she chuckled and gave Petrus a friendly nudge in the side with her elbow.

There was a look of interest on her face as he spoke. "Really? You're gonna have to show me the fashionable stuff at some point, so I can judge for myself. By the way, you probably want a darker color for swimtrunks... light colors tend to get more... see-through, when wet."

"Gotcha." Petrus chuckled, laughing as she nudged him. "I'll keep that in mind."

His eyebrows went up; he looked at Dove, then back at the suits. "Thanks for the warning." He murmured. "I wasn't thinking of that."

Petrus shook his head. "But no, not me. Some of the others. Those around the same age as me, or even some of the instructors." He paused. "There was this one, a twi'lek, young for an instructor. She, uh, dressed kinda like you do sometimes. Kinda... tight pants, brief tops." He paused again, swallowing. "I remember seeing her a few times just before I, uh, moved up a level. She made an impression."

"Oho. She sounds like someone I would've loved to meet." Dove wiggled her eyebrows, chuckling softly at the idea of flirting with a Jedi.

"If things had been differently, you should've taken it upon yourself to be the fashionista to revolutionize it all. Introduced some corsets, high heels, leather jackets, and stylish hats."

Petrus grinned. "Wow, Dove." He shook his head. "She was pretty no-nonsense, though. I never heard of her flirting... not that I would have, of course." He shrugged.

He knelt down out of sight; there was some crinkling of plastic as he examined something. "A fashionista? Me? Yeah, right." Chuckling, he rose back into view. "Besides, we didn't really do that sort of thing. I mean, you've seen what I wear. That's pretty much the normal." Petrus' knowledge of Old Republic Jedi was fairly limited. "I don't know the first thing about... about any of that. Especially corsets or heels." He snorted.

"Of course you wouldn't have," she snickered.

The crinkling of plastic made her lean around to catch a glimpse of what had caught his attention.

"Normal, yeah, I'll give you that. Just not exciting. Or sexy. Or fashion."

The package was a pair of boxers, but a pretty nice set. The material looked soft, but would also like it would hold tight to a figure. It could be quite flattering... assuming one was fit. Or... gifted. Coughing, Petrus tucked the package underneath his arm.

"That's not what we were for, Dove." Petrus said, amused. "Although... there were some who were close to your line of work. Maybe they could have even shown you a thing about fashion." But probably not. He thought, his blue eyes flickering up and down.

Of course she did notice his flickering gaze. "Should I turn around so you can see my best assets?" Dove remarked with her usual quick wit.

"Just kidding, relax." She laughed warmly. "You should tell me about 'em sometime, but honestly, kid, there's a lot you don't know about my line of work."

And the less Petrus knew about what exactly she did during the war, the better.
