Don't look, I'm not actually here. [D7, EE]

Verse hadn't been back in Rygor for some time; so when she decided to take a look around the market again, she found herself surprised by the amount of patrols that were going around now. Well, maybe not surprised-surprised; after all, they'd been having some success against the Empire, and that couldn't go unanswered. But still, it was eyebrow raising, just how seriously they were taking this?

Fortunately, Verse managed to duck out of the way of the patrols as they passed by.

(not using DS, 2 threat either to strain or... something else if the GM decides to mess with Verse)

As she ducks back in she sees a trio of storm trooper accosting an old man and when he refused to show his identification one butts him with a rifle, knocking him to the ground.

Venator is just passing through and checking out more wares when he notices the stormtroopers bullying an old man. He chooses to ignore it for now.

Oh no, this was the sort of thing that Verse could not abide; and which tended to cause her to do stupid things. Like go over to where the bad imperials were doing bad things like hitting old men.

"Hey! That isn't very nice, can't you see he's harmless?"

They turn and look at her and then say, "Hey that's the Jedi criminal!" They level their weapons at Verse.

Her eyes widened a little at this completely unexpected turn of events.

"I'm not a Jedi criminal!" She yelled...

...as she started running away from them.

Well, at least she'd distracted them them from their daily 'beat-people-up' routine!

OOC: Athletics or Coordination to avoid harm from blaster bolts! Failed roll takes 8 wounds reduced by soak. Reflect can apply as well.

Verse ran hard and fast, but damn these stormtroopers could actually hit a target!

Or at least, they would've if not for the fact her lightsaber came on and handily deflected a couple of blaster bolts away, crashing harmlessly into a nearby wall as her laughter echoed through the alleyway. Taunting them with it wasn't the smartest thing perhaps, but this way they'd probably obsess with finding her, rather than going back to the beatings. Of course, the fact she took out a lightsaber would've been sufficient for that, probably.

3 strain for Reflect to reduce by 3, soak 5 takes care of the rest.

The soldiers give chase hopping on speeders!

OOC: Gain .2 Suspicion as they give chase!

He nodded and got to his feet with the help. He is thankful if a bit shaken from the ordeal.

Meanwhile, in the alleyways, Verse tried to give them the slip...

She gives the troopers the slip only to find herself face to face with the High Inquisitor as if he was waiting for her to be there.

“Verse Aura, we meet again,” he said calmly. He gave her a slight bow, “In some ancient cultures it is customary to give respect to an adversary. Consider this my gesture of respect.”

She did the thing sometimes seen in cartoon-holos where the characters drift around a corner while running, as if the street was made of ice...

...only to be face to face with none other than the high inquisitor. To say it was unexpected was an understatement. It certainly wasn't very welcome either.

"Uhwhaa?" uncertain of how to respond to having her world flipped upside down, she decided to go with the first thing that came to mind.

"Uhh, I think you have me confused with someone else. My name... uh, is... Axy Halo?"

"I show you courtesy and you insult me with lies," he said calmly. "The state of Jedi training has truly deteriorated."

"No, wait, I'm sorry!" Realizing her mistake, she took a step back... then realizing the mistake of making it seem as if she was about to flee; which to be fair she was very much thinking of doing; she turned the stepping back into something approaching a curtsy bow.

"You surprised me, that's all!"

Think Verse, what would Master Alana do in a situation like this?

"I thought you surprised me," he said calmly. "Well either way, this turn of events is fortuitous. Don't you agree?"

There was the briefest moment of lingering doubt and uncertainty; but Master Alana had always taught her to live in the moment. To not be weighed down by thoughts and worries, and instead trust in the Force to see her through any trouble that might head her way. And she had *lived* those teachings, and taught them to others. To turn from that path now and fall into despair... that wouldn't do.

So she exhaled, and just as her breath vanished from her body, so too did she expel that doubt; to live in the moment again.

"That depends on you," she said with her own measureo of calm, "and whether part of you is still willing to return to the Light."

"Don't be boring," he said calmly dismissing that request.

"Tell me where the rest of the Jedi are and I can assure you that you will not share their fate."

"I get it," she said, smiling, "you want to be part of the secret club. Does Darth Vader know you're trying to defect? I hear you inquisitors are all really scared of him, the way you want us to be scared of you. I had a friend who was scared of one of you, you know what she did? She offered to meditate with the inquisitor, to show her that none of us have to be afraid."

Well, if it worked for Qareme, maybe it could work for Verse as well!

"How about it," she said after a moment, "how about we try it? Meditating together?"

"You are right I do wish to be part of your club," he turned using the Force to rip a wall off a building saying to those inside, "We need privacy."

The people flee.

"Shall we?"

OOC: Difficulty of the Meditation is 4 red and a purple, may roll Force as well and add 2 setback for the Inquisitor.

Verse ignored the blatant display of Force power. At least, she *tried* to ignore it; but it was obviously kind of hard. Still, live in the moment. Let the Force flow. Be zen. This was the worst idea. No, this was the best idea. Be zen.

Verse closed her eyes and sat down, allowing the Force to flow around her, meditating with the Inquistor.

This really was the worst idea. No, be zen.

The Darkside, naturally, dominated. Still, Verse pushed through. She thought on everything that had happened, remembering that time in the pool, when all of the Padawans were diving for stones. And she found the most brilliant stone, only it wasn't a stone at all... it was, the Force telling her... something. Sharing some insight with her that she didn't fully grasp at the time, but that seemed to come into focus as she sat here, meditating and hoping for...

...something to help get rid of the inquisitor?

No! Don't think like that. Be zen.

What she really wanted, was to *help* the inquisitor. *Really* help him, in the way of the Jedi. The way Qareme had done with Neela. The way Valus had turned back to the light. Idle hope, perhaps. The dark side was so strong around him, after all...

...but maybe her grasp of the Force impressed him, allowing that same flicker of hope that had turned the others back to the Light to be relit anew in the High Inquisitor.

Or who knows... perhaps the Force had something entirely different in mind.

Discipline Meditating, Knowledge of the Force Upgrade, CIS Boost, Sense Danger (-2 setback): 3eP+2eF+1eB+4eC+1eD 1 success, 4 Dark Side

(Using the Free Upgrade to any one roll in the game that Verse got from diving in the pool; I thought it was narratively appropriate here.

Also used Sense Danger to remove 2 setback from any one check per session)

Roll is a success, so I don't know if it's necessary to flip a destiny for a positive outcome, but if it is necessary, I will do so)

"Yeaaaah, seee..." she slowly got up once the impromptu meditation session came to a close, "...that doesn't like, really work for me?"

She slowly took a few steps back. "You're welcome to join the resistance, though!"

And took a few more. "Anyway okay thanks bye!"

And rapidly turned around, launching herself into a sprint!

He does not follow. Once he was alone he said over a secure comm, "Begin sweeps of Orlandis, immediately. Discretely."
