[Day 2 - LE] The Money Shot

by Vandil
Vandil had taken over the VIP section once more and waited for those that had the stones to answer her call, some had proven useful and the plan was moving forward. She was ready to reveal the next step. She leaned back and blew out a smoke ring as she waited for the specialists to appear.

OOC: Job is rumored to pay 500+ more creds per person.

It occurred to Djanik that he would need to stop doing this, and to also take very good notes of who was involved.

Some day, things might be different, after all.

Until then, however, in light of his new desires, he would need money. Wars were not won with only good intentions.

Entering the VIP section he sketched a salute to the muscle standing by, making himself comfortable and waiting for the action to start.

Under his collar, some bruising was visible, though he did his best not to show the pain he was currently feeling.

She had a plan, it wasn't a bad plan.. in fact it was a very good plan. However, every plan that involves a Hutt carries risk and she knew just how much risk she'd taken when she started. Even if the stress of it got to her at times she could pull through. She had to, after all, it wasn't just about her anymore.

Finding herself a corner to stick to she hid herself from majority view, Vandil would know she was there of course. Jax knew better than to be rude.

Daunt was there. Silent and sullen, devoid of prior bustle. But perhaps more feral because of it. He passed a soundless greeting and took a seat in the lounge.

Jabber slinks in, dodging a few people who seemed sure that he was part of the band.

"I promise, I will help you get backstage! Later!"

Jabber shimmies one more time and sneaks to the back VIP room. He recognized some of them from earlier, who had run into trouble. Jabber takes a seat at the table, frowning a little as he sees that his robes are still dirty from the Cram Berry...or is it blood? He honestly can't tell right now.

"Hello everyone. I hear there's work to be had."

Elaranu knew nothing of the job. She was here for music and dancing. Arriving in a sequined purple dress, purse in her hands, she looked around for a seat before finding a small table near the stage; No smokey booth on the edges for her.

Even Djanik was sometimes easy to distract, and the pretty (if strange) Pantoran from the earlier salvage expedition kept drawing his gaze, awkwardly. After a few minutes he pulled out his datapad to distract himself, embarrassed.

Why was he acting like a teenager? He was here on business.

The Jawa band setup and once they were in place they started their surreal set, at least eight of them playing on odd electronic instruments. It sounded cacophonous at first and then something surreal and dark came out of the mess...

Vandil smiled at her guests and said, “I am glad the scent of money brought you back, so how do you feel about making an unscheduled merchandise requisition for me?”

"It's my favorite type of requisition." Jabber chirps.

That should get me back on track instead of stupid attempts at heroics.

"Who are the lucky donors and what are we hauling? Or is that "need to know"?"

It wasn't as lively as she'd hoped, but there was a certain appeal. And it was danceable, so it worked for her purposes.

Leaving her cittus drink at the table, Elaranu cut a rug, though nothing fancy since it'd been a long day and the music was slow.

Vaya came in, slightly haggard. The smoke still boiled over the Anzuri enclave, and her original positive feelings towards the world in general and Vandil, in particular, had lessened considerably. She'd come away from their first meeting impressed and even maybe inclined to like her. What wasn't to like? Stylish dresser, savvy self-made businesswoman, responsible for a good pile of credits becoming Vaya's. But it all seemed a bit tawdry compared to what she had seen.

Still, even though the drink she had ordered for show turned her stomach, she did need to eat. And possibly pay for her and a couple others to vanish in a hurry. You didn't get this far through an excess of scruples she thought, and shoved away the rival thought: You got farther than you ever did in a direction that mattered by developing some.

"Anything for you, Kei’na Vandil," she said, the self-mocking showing off of her Ryl covering whatever mixed emotions might have come with a simpler statement.

Bowze made his appearance fashionnably late. He did not want to be here but he would prefer not having a debt to a hutt official for too long.

''Lady Vandil'' he said with a bow after entering the VIP section.

As the offer was made, Djanik just nodded.

His gaze wandered off to the dance floor.

He wasn't sure how you danced to this music, but Ela was making a noble effort.

Jax wasn't one to ever take front stage, but she was still here and that was good enough to mean she was still interested. Just a few more jobs, a little work to get her prepared, and then.. well, it seemed Vandil might be going somewhere with all this. Maybe then, maybe, that would be her shot. Shot at a new life, away from it all, the casual murder and constant fear of being betrayed.

Vandil grinned and said, “There is a sea skimmer carrying some nice goods, called the Vrakul Trident. I don’t care what you take but I need a briefcase carried by the captain of the ship. Kill him, steal it… sink the damn craft I don’t care but get me this briefcase and you will earn your pay.”

“It’s a private sea skimmer used for hosting parties for dignitaries, there is one such party tomorrow night. I have,” she smiled and finished, “tickets. You have the skills, care to make us all a little richer?”

The song was slow, so the effort involved a lot of swaying, the backbeat helping that.

At some point, Elanaru noticed the man with the strange eyes looking at her and gave him a brief smile before going back to what she was doing; He was with a crowd of people, and didn't seem dressed for dancing anyways.

Jax stepped forward, enough that Vandil would recognize her intent but awaited instruction. She'd claim one of those tickets, get the loot, and then get out. Just needed to use her recently acquired funds to prepare as much as she could. A job for the morrow, at this point.

"This is going to require a team, five probably. The rest I have another task that needs doing," she offered.

"I'm on the team," she said, removing any others thought that they'd be allowed to do this job without her. Crossing her arms she stood in a somewhat open spot, that she was able to almost be displayed as the first member of the team to step forward, and glanced around the room at the others present.

Dak was running a little late it was a kriff ton of work to avoid the inps after the events of this afternoon. He didnt think anyone would be looking for him but he wouldnt take that kind of chance.

"Vandil love you seem to have started the party without me." He said in a friendly tone, he was able to hide the pain his healing wound caused him if just barely, Juri really was a miracle worker a blaster burn like his would usually have taken days to heal now it was just a bit sore. "I'm down for whatever crazy plan this is anyway." He said winking to Jax, whom hed heard pipe up right before his arrival.

"Hmmm...." Jabber lets out a low sound as he thinks, realizing that yet another person from the events from earlier today was here.

"I am curious about this other task as well, but I think that my talents are well suited to this heist." Jabber turns to Vandil. "Did you have roles in mind for this team of five?"

“Some of my friends have been,” she paused to take a drag and then continued, “proven themselves to be unreliable and I no longer desire their friendship. It’s time we part ways, permanently. Close the door on the past.”

She then gets serious adding, “No loose ends.”

“Simple contract work, I give you the name, you make sure they get the ending they deserve.”

To the jawa she added, “You’re the specialists, figure it out just get me what I want.”

Jurdak received a smile and she finished with, “Perish the thought, the party never truly begins until you arrive.”

Mahon frowned as he finished his third drink and now he was going to do something even stupider but a Jedi had been captured and the Resistance for all their words had let it happen and the Aznuri had suffered for it. He knew the Empire was bad news but this was on a scale he couldn’t fathom and so he knew he had to call in a favor, it meant being under her thumb but this was bigger than him.

He mustered his courage and went to the VIP and then said, “Vandil, I… need your help.”
