[Day 4 - LE] Dead to Me

The Nerf had weathered the Earthquake basically intact, they lost some bottles of spirits and other perishables but things were back on track by the evening rush. Vuxia was cleaning the counters and the Monkey-Lizard Blues were setting up for their set when a cadre of Imperial officers, Captain Hrugos among them, entered and took up their favorite table.
Trion noticed and was disturbed but kept getting ready… this was going to be an interesting night.

Daunt had already been inside when things started happening. For now, he just stayed on his drink and watched.

The Nerf wasn't Dove's favorite spot, but she liked music, so there she was. Leather-jacket thrown over her white form-fitting suit. It was good to see it hadn't been too badly hurt by the earthquake.
Dove did notice the presence of the captain, and took up a table nearby. For possible eavesdropping, and for maybe interjecting herself into the conversation.

Ru'ni had spotted Dove on the street and followed the woman inside for a moment of her time.
But when he noticed Trion and Hrugos, he realized that something much bigger could be about to take place. Hugging the edges like a wallflower, he tried to stay unnoticed as he monitored the situation.

The music at the nerf wasn't usually to Astin's liking, but experience had taught that such places were good for picking up women. Or at least as good as anywhere else.
He was dressed well, in well fitting slacks and a button up shirt, that hugged his lean frame. It wasn't as laid back as he usually went with, but casual was for later, right?

Jenna sat at the bar, nursing a cocktail, and dressed in her usual rather boring affair but the material was of a somewhat nicer quality than usual, new? This wasn't the place to wear anything fancy, it was at best for her a place of work, but today she was here simply to be in presence of the underworld so she could think on the problem moving forward. How to tackle the growing need to rid herself of her connection to the Hutts, how to be free again.
Signalling Vuxia for a drink, she readied to sink in a few questions...

Dak made his way into the Nerf for some quality live music he walked in with his usual swagger a quality pair of well fitted dark pants and a black button up with the top few buttons undone. He went to the bar and ordered something strong and smooth, a little on guard due to the special guest this evening but trying to ignore it and just enjoy good music and good company.

"The officer and the songstress used to be an item, but it ended sourly. The captain has it hard letting go. Expect drama." Daunt gave Dak a quiet tip on what could happen next.

Dak nodded keeping an eye on Hrugos and Trion would be fine
"I'm packing a blaster, not what I'd prefer to have but itll do if we need it to. My rifles in my speeder outside if I need it." Dak replied equally as quiet a voice that likely wouldnt carry past the two in a noisy bar.
"I'll get a couple more eyes on the situation." He said looking over at Dove.

Dak sat next to Dove at the table and leaned his head in so his lips were almost touching her ear "Captain and the lady on the stage have a messy past. Captain doesnt like how it ended, could be messy." He finished before giving her a brief kiss on the cheek, possibly to sell the lover whispering sweet nothings in her ear possibly just because he wanted to, hard to say.

Not everyone here knew it eve cared about the Captain and his random barmaid. For Astin m,'s part he ignored the tension and tried to enjoy the night.
The had amm happily escaped the earlier quakes after all.

"Welcome, how can I sort out that thirst?" she responded as she wiped the bar down.

"House special," she said, "and was wondering after if you knew anyone who was particularly. Seems I'm hearing a lot in passing but nothing concrete enough that I care to pay it any mind, but maybe that's just cause nothing on the wind has been all that interesting for someone in my position," she shrugged.
"Could be maybe you could help me with that a bit, I'm hoping?" she added on a bit more direct, with a smile, and the veiled promise.

She starts preparing the special and said, "Well particular in what way, you looking for work or someone to get cozy with?"

"Everyone's looking for love," she quipped, smiled at the dumb joke a little, but shook the thought before she continued, "but work, work is what keeps us afloat the longest. Grounded too, in a way I guess," she shrugged.

The group of about six Imperial officers laughed and enjoyed themselves as the band got ready. Captain Hrugos seemed pleased to be quiet and sip at his brandy as he waited for the performance. He was not as boisterous as the others, but seemed to be content to just enjoy his drink and wait for the entertainment a far cry from his vicious nature on the battlefield.

“Depends on how much you like to get your hands dirty but I hear the Wall is making a move to consolidate the major gangs in the slums in the name of the Disciple. Don’t know them but if you want paying work they might be the way to go,” she responded.
“Hear the Hutts may be cleaning house as well, again bloody work though.”

Trion wore a long black strapless gown and smiled at the crowd and said, “Thank you for coming, we are Monkey-Lizard Blues and I hope you vibe with us tonight. I also want to give special thanks to those that fight for Bankor.”
She turned her band and shared some words there was confusion as they swapped to more acoustic instruments and then she turned back and said, “This first song is dedicated to all those we wish to forget, love gone wrong… it’s a new one so I hope you like it.”
The music began light and airy, she swayed with the music before she started to
sing, “I don’t know what you been told, see I am not your enemy… but if there is one thing that I know is that you ain’t friend to me.”
She closed her eyes and continued singing until she hit the refrain and there were small tears at the edge of her eyes as she sang, “You’re dead to me… why can’t you see you’re dead to me… why can’t you see you’re dead to me… you’re obsessed, just let me go.”
This was definitely an emotional song for Trion and as it closed out, she smiled, but it was pained.

Vaya wouldn't have missed this show for the world -- or at least, not for almost anything. With the delays from this morning and the earthquake, she almost had been forced to choose one of the maybe three things on this backwater she would have skipped it for. Luckily not.
She had rushed here from the landing pad and picked a spot optimized for sound, eyes fixed on the stage and the singer. She didn't get up to dance, but her hands and feet and antennapalps swayed, tapped, and bobbed in deep absorption.

Daunt was quite attentive about how Hrugos would take it. He enjoyed music casually as it didn't strike any emotional cord in him, and focused more on the message, obviously intended.

"Aw, honey," she chuckled, selling the illusion of a couple for now. "You always say the best things."
Picking up her glass of whiskey, Dove glanced around the room during the performance, to gauge the reactions of the crowd. Especially the neighbouring table with Hrugos and his goons.

Hrugos had been quiet but by the end he leaned back in his chair and clapped politely. His fellow officers seemed oblivious to his cooling anger. He tapped his ear lightly and then replaced his hat and rose as four storm troopers barged their way through the crowd.
He sneered and said, “Excellent show, Trion… ever the shining starlet. Troopers arrest this dissident for suspected collusion with the Resistance… in fact arrest the whole band for spreading such seditious lies.”
They move to do just that.

Dak leaned in close to Dove "I'm going to set up outside, the big Zabrak might do something and if he does I'm gonna back him up." He gave her an actual kiss this time "Wish me luck darling." He said with a smile as he made for a back exit.
He went by Daunt first saying quietly "If you're going to do something wait till they get outside. I've got your back." And with that Dak left the bar to go to his speeder retrieve his rifle and find a nice spot far enough away to be hard to see but close enough to observe through his scope. If Daunt or someone else wanted to stop this they would have ranged support. If not Dak would just watch.

Dove and Dak had gotten a polite nod when Astin saw they in the crowd, but he didn't join them. Two men usually ended up a problem when there was only one woman, and there were plenty of other attractive ladies around. The singer, the familiar looking sister at the bar, hell even the bartender.
Settling in to watch the song, a frown made it's way onto his lips as things turned south quickly. Glancing around the establishment he frowned, it seemed pretty in tact from the earlier quakes, but maybe there was something he could do to 'accidentally' shut off the power? With the lights off the band could likely make a hasty escape in the chaos.
