Shadows of Bankor

Sending word to Vandil at the earliest convenience, she knew she would be nearby, but wasn't about to drop an unexpected visitor on her totally unannounced. Leading Xanna through the crooks and villains, and some fair few regular folk, that was the majority of who made up the patron-base of the Salty Nerf she sorta kinda hated every second of it.

For a while, she hoped, that this part of her life would never infect the other. Xanna, was part of the better half, the half that was supposed to be clean and wholesome. Where she could be just another person in the sea of people and live a nice, pleasant life. Now.. with everything that's changed? Was that even going to be possible anymore?

"Just," she said, talking quickly and softly to Xanna, "don't look at anyone you don't need to. Own your space, or someone else will take it from you. Know what you are, and what you're about, and stick to it. Otherwise, they'll eat you alive in here. Some of them seem friendly, they're not, they're liable to kill you if someone tossed enough credits at them. Don't look down, don't avoid contact, just look confident and assured at all times."

The rough crowd was in and the music was a delightful mix of cantina! Glares and posturing aplenty.

Confident and assured at all times, okay, I can do that. Xanna drew herself up and thought about being poised and composed. It had been a while since she had entered this place, and that was just to see Vuxia. She nodded to Jenna.

"I will follow your lead. Own my space. Got it." As they entered she thought it didn't seem too bad. The band was good. But there was a layer of hostility underneath it all, so she kept on her guard.

Vandil was in attendance listening to music in the VIP, well her VIP.

Approaching the VIP room Jenna announced herself, "We're here to see Vandil," she said.

"It's an, interesting proposition. One I am hoping she will be in the mind to entertain."

The doorman nodded and let them inside.

"Vandil," she said, upon entering.

"Hopefully I'm not disturbing anything but I have someone here who very much would like a chance to speak with you. To speak about the future of Bankor," she said, smirking, "something that I feel you have at least some of a vested interest in? No fan of the Empire, at least, I'm sure."

With that she stepped to the side, indicating Xanna, and allowing her the room and floor.

“You are a little early,” she said leaning forward as she started cleaning her vibro-blade.

A thickly built dug is dragging out a now dead togruta with a rather vicious cut across the neck. A young twi’lek about fifteen is already hard at work cleaning the blood off the floor. Vandil put fifteen credits on the table for the youth and then lit a cig, “Make it quick, I don’t like my time being wasted.”

Not exactly the best way to begin a relationship. How did Master Saarth manage to deal with people like this? Something about the greater good I suppose. Remain poised.

"Then I will keep it quick. Would you fight for the liberation of Bankor?" She raised a hand. "I do not care why and assume no lofty goals. But if Bankor could be rid of the Imperial presence, so you were free to conduct your business without their interference. Would you fight to achieve that goal? An attempt will be made. Alliances are forming, and success is more likely with you than without you." Sad, but true.

“Getting right to the point, I like her,” she said with a smile. She gestured for Xanna to sit and added, “That’s a hell of a sell, going against the Empire but it could prove profitable… or disastrous. What would you want from my people, resources and guns or just information… or do you want it all?”

“There is a cost for everything.”

Jenna settled, a little, and found herself a place to watch over the meeting and chime in if necessary. Near Xanna, so she was on hand if she needed direction, but Xanna was quite the negotiator and she trusted even here she was going to manage well.

In the meantime, her eyes drifted past where the body was dragged out of the room. Jenna, in that moment, knew she was getting a bit too used to the sight of dead bodies.

Xanna took the seat that was offered, sitting as gracefully as she could. She golden her hands over one knee. "The will is there, the main thing we need is numbers. The more beings we have, the better our chances. But if you are offering all, well every edge we can get." She shrugged. "What would you seek in return for your support?"

“Some of your people have access to the Foundry… we could give you people but I want access to the books, creds rule everything around me, so I am getting that money, sweetness. We get a little hypermatter credit line and a legitimate front and we help you liberate Bankor from whoever you like,” she said smoothly.

She nodded, businesslike. "Of course, if money is all you desire then money is what you will receive. I will explain your terms to those with the power to make this happen." She stood and offered her hand, frankly money was the absolute least of her concerns. "And I will make sure they understand why it is necessary. Thank you for listening to my proposal Vandil. I will not take up any more of your time."

She rose and took her hand in a firm shake, "Look forward to the business of revolution."

Jenna stepped out toward the center of the room more again.

"Thank you, Vandil," she chimed in with Xanna. Awaiting and staying by her friends side. It wasn't much of a surprise that Vandil knew exactly what she wanted but, well, now she was starting to wonder.

"To revolution." Aftr the shake she stepped back and walked away with Jenna at her side. Assuming they were allowed to move back into the cantina proper she moved towards the bar.

"I think I need a drink Jenna, what are you having? And...can you find out if that Togruta had any family please?" She looked off into the distance for a few moments, then looked to see if Vuxia was working tonight

She was there slinging drinks.

"Would knowing make it better?" she asked initially but eased her tone . "Chances are he probably didn't, people who come here... they usually don't," she said, sympathetic for the dead and yet, "it's better not to look into, ask questions. Those are dangerous, just, try to put it out of your mind."

Leaning in to her friend she whispered, quietly, as quiet as she can be by getting close to her ear, "Don't take anything more than you need, only what you require. She'll take you for everything and more."

She shook her head. "If there is family, I would help them to ease their pain somehow. It is not about me Jenna." She put a hand on her friend's arm. "But thank you, your concern is a beautiful thing. "

She waved at Vuxia. "Hello my friend. May I have something cool for myself, and whatever my friend wishes?"

"I'll take my usual," she said quickly, glancing to Vuxia with the hint of a smile but nothing more.

"I'll be right back, then," she said to Xanna. While their drinks were being prepared she went about the clientele in the bar. Knowing how to move around them she flaunted it a bit and used her know-how of dealing with the underbelly of the Galaxy to extract, from the patrons, everything she could find out about the Togruta that entered before.

OOC: Easy Streetwise he was a regular.

It was about as easy as she expected it to be, there always was a blabbermouth you could trust to be a blabbermouth mouth.

Jenna was able to find them with ease and took a listen, just required a delicate proding in the right direction.

A wry smile crossed her features and she ran a hand through her hair. "I do not even know where to begin. It has been...quite a day. But you did say if I came in then I should come and say hello. So hello." She nodded at the cantina band. "They are good. I should thank you for sending Bowze my way. He has been so very helpful. And you Vuxia, are you well?"
