(D2 LE Closed) I'm in agony... I can't breathe

Mia pushed into the clinic, finally attending to the wound she had sustained back at the Enclave. She knocked on the door frame and waited to be addressed.

Why do people volunteer to charge in and get shot? Goodness, ow.

[Juri Saizesh]

The door opened with a chime. It was a small waiting room, cozy but sparse. In it, the Witch was seated in a chair, trying to catch her breath for a few moments. Her fingers clenched and unclenched, still feeling the pain that she had taken in from the Aznuri woman earlier.

"Good evening." She stood, looking to the honey blonde woman. "Mia, right? I am Juri."

"Good memory. I bet that's good for a doctor." Mia walked forward to offer a hand, glancing at the clenching fist. She wasn't going to mention it for the moment.

"You did great work out there."

The smaller woman stood, idly rubbing her wrist for a moment, before taking the other woman's hand. "If I could have done more, more might have been saved." She looked her over, letting her eyes settle on Mia's face.

"Are you alright?"

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Other than the pain, yes," Mia admitted. She lifted her arm and pointed at the other where she had gotten shot. "I'm guessing blaster shots can't get infected. All that hotness or something? Mister Butell always tried to get me to understand casting, irm, cauterizing."

Despite the mention of pain, she still kept her spirits high. "And if I knew more triage, then the same would be true for me. You can't shoulder this by yourself, nor do you have to."

[Juri Saizesh]

"No. I don't have to. But it's hard to escape that feeling when you've survived two massacres." She grabbed her kit off her desk, then returned to examining the woman. "Come, let's take a look at you. The good news I'm not seeing any deep injuries from here, but..." she shrugged, then pulled the hypospray from the kit, applying it to the blaster wound. She sighed, working at it for a bit.

"You should at least feel better, but rest might be the best medicine."

"Ha, well, what do you think, Doc? Should I stick one of my stims into me?" Mia looked over at her pouch. "I tried to save them for emergencies, for myself or others. But I might need to be in tip top shape soon."

Mia peered at Juri and then sighed. "But yeah, it's not pretty. Two is two too many.' She paused. "Was the first one here too?"

[Juri Saizesh]

"Don't use one of yours." She removed a stim from the medkit, applying it. "And no, it wasn't. It was at home, during the Clone Wars." She pursed her lips.

"Have you ever seen what a Defoliator Tank does to a body? Have you ever smelled the carnage?" Removing the stim from the other woman, she shook her head.

"The Empire's methods are just as terrible as the weapons used by the Confederacy and their droid armies."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"'Hey, hey," Mia said, almost pulling out of the injection. But, seeing as it was already going into her, she didn't want to waste it. She pulled one out of her pouch and placed it on the table. "Lemme at least give you this for your help."

Mia nodded along with the story. "To be honest, I don't know what defoliator means. But I've seen charred bodies before, not many, but enough to never want to see it again." She hadn't really expected to hear so much from the so-called witch but they were in it then. "Guess I don't need to give you a rousing speech about standing up against the Empire then."

[Juri Saizesh]

"They won't stop." She backed away from the other woman, looking out the door. "First it was the Jedi, and then any who can feel the..." her voice dropped "... Force. Dissidents, anyone who stands in their way or doesn't fit with their perfect order." The last words almost spat out.

She shook her head. "This was supposed to be quiet. Someplace to lie low, and hold onto the Knowledge of my people..."

"I thought so too." Mia waved her hand, like Petrus had shown her. "You can do that sort of stuff too, huh? The Force, as they like to call it." She sighed. "They will stop because we will make it so, not because they will choose to. That is the way it has to be now.

"I'm in the business of rallying the people of Bankor. And besides getting your help on a, well, medical problem, you were my next stop."

[Juri Saizesh]

"Different than what the Jedi practice..." she looked to her hand, reaching through the Force. Green coalesced around her hand, her eyes, as her fingers danced.

But it disappeared quickly.

"Today has caused so much suffering, all I can feel is the Dark, using it... it's too heavy on my spirit..." she shook her head, as seemingly nothing happened.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"That's new," Mia murmured, watching the green light. She then gave a soft smile. "Yeah, using something called the 'Dark' doesn't seem too good for long term prospects, you know? Kind of like not using cheap fertilizer for a farm.

"My point is, you don't need that stuff. You're a plenty good doctor with your normal skills and, well, the Light might help too from time to time."

[Juri Saizesh]

She offered a small smile. "Your confidence in me is invigorating. Perspective, I think. In the light of what happened today. Sometimes it's hard to focus on those motes of Light when there is so much darkness everywhere." The small woman walked around the larger one, before leaning against a bench, her back to it.

"If things heat up, and people start fighting back. I'll be there to patch you all up."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"I think things have already started heating up," Mia replied. She felt the singe mark on her coat and then gave a wry grin. "You wouldn't happen to know how to sew too, would you?"

Though she did think about asking so-and-so's crush about that sort of thing.

[Juri Saizesh]

"Not especially talented. But I can work needle and thread." She noted the blaster bolt, moving closer and runnung fingernails over the material, inspecting the damage, quite clinically.

"Should not be too difficult."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"That's a relief," Mia remarked, "It's a tough coat, with lots of sentimental value behind it." She adjusted the collar, making sure not to rustle it too much. "Suits me, doesn't it? Or do you think I should get rid of it?"

[Juri Saizesh]

"It very much does, Mia." Juri let her fingers drop the jacket, before heading back to her desk. Underneath it, a simple toolkit.

Well worn, used with care. A smaller kit withdrawn from it. Needle. Thread. Even some fabric. She walked back to the other woman, before kneeling to best look at the tear in it.

Needle threaded, she began to work.

"I don't think you'd like getting rid of it. Nor would you look like you if you didn't have it."

"Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to fill it out rather than it suiting me," Mia remarked. She glanced down at the stitching and pursed her lips. "Sometimes I wonder if I should get it re-fitted. But at that point, I might as well spend the credits on a new one."

[Juri Saizesh]

"Are you talking about the coat, or the person it originally belonged to?" She didn't look up from her work. Setting pins into the jacket, patching it with a similar colored piece of fabric, and setting to it with needle.

"If you were going to refit it, or replace it, I think you would have done it already." Her voice was warm, soothing.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"No, no, it used to fit him just right," Mia said before smirking. "Tall, handsome, strong, just like lots of women like." She eyed Juri and then gave a light shrug as to not mess up the repairing process. "Not everyone has those tastes, though. Well that and he was like a father to me.

"You're right though. It wouldn't have been so hard to replace it by now, huh?"

[Juri Saizesh]

"I wouldn't replace it. Father figures are hard to come by." Juri didnt expand, just letting the thought hang in the air. She let her fingers trace over the repaired patch, making sure the stiches wouldn't give due to exertion.

"But don't let the weight of legacy worry you, either. Just know that they would be proud of what you're doing. Especially if you ever feel like darkness is creeping in too much." She stood, nodding at the handiwork. "And now you're adding to the story of the coat. And one day, there will be a being who looks up to you, and maybe you'll give them the coat."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Ha," Mia said, looking down at the coat. She then closed her eyes and smiled faintly. "No, no, he wasn't so great of a man. If he were here during the Enclave attack, he would have ran to his ship and left this planet behind.

"And yet, there's something comforting about him. He was there for me when I needed him, at least. Just not much a hero."

[Juri Saizesh]

"Sometimes, it's enough to be there for one person, to be a hero, Mia." Juri replied, her vibrant eyes focused on Mia's own. "He might have run, but you didn't. Which means whoever saw you, will be inspired to rise up. Maybe instead of just hitting back on their homeworld, they work to gather others, like some kind of massive alliance. But who knows..."

Mia gazed back and then looked away. She scratched the back of her head and chuckled. "What?" she asked, "Are you some sort of mind reader? Guess that green light stuff might point towards that." She swallowed her anxiety and looked back again. "I'm hoping to get everyone to band together. Not just here but the galaxy. If a thousand years of peace could have survived before this, then it could happen again. I just hope there isn't a thousand years of tyranny first."
