A gem of a conversation (D4 EM)

With the last few weeks going by so quickly, Qareme lacked the opportunity to question her friend on her new accessory. That didn't mean it hadn't concerned her though; something felt wrong about it, and seemed just as bad.
I hope she has not gone too far...
Knowing the best place to find her, Qareme approached and entered the clinic, the tapping of her walking stick as she entered likely as big a giveaway as anything else.

When Qareme entered, she would likely feel it. The manipulation of the Force radiating from deeper in the clinic.
In her little back room, the Witch sat, legs criss-crossed as luminous green vapor flowed about her. At a small table, a set of earrings rose slightly, the Force flowing around her and into them.
Her fingers worked, curling over them, before she reached for very exacting measurements, beginning the ritual.

I don't like this feeling...
Qareme would normally not involve herself in anything in the back room of the clinic; it wasn't her business after all. However that feeling drew her in, and she moved towards the door before knocking.
"Juri? Are you in today?"

"It is open." She recognized the voice, as she lifted a small jewler's tool. Setting in a few small pieces of jewelry into the Talisman, she seemed to focus on her work.

Qareme took that as an invitation, opening the door and entering the room. Closing it behind her.
"I did not know you were a jeweler. Another one of your many skills?"

"Of a sort." The tool floated down to the tiny floor desm as she manipulated the vapor with her fingers, that push with the Force as she continued the ritual. "Talismans and charms were always part of my tradition." She spoke, not quite looking up.
"Had I not heard your voice, I would not have said anything."

Qareme moved to sit nearby, but not too close as to disrupt the work.
"I remember seeing other pieces of jewelry before, but not ones like this and your necklace from the faire. You created that one also?"

"Yes." The earrings separated, metal pieces bending and contorting, as the Force seemed to begin infusing them. "These Dark Times are... trying. I haven't made things... like these since I was with my Coven." She quietly responded.
"But even then, I can only control so much of the process. The Force has its own will." She pursed her lips. "And the Darkness the Empire has brought... is making things difficult. Fear clouding everything."

There was a nod.
"So you are aware of the darkness. That was why I wished to speak with you."

"The Dark Side of the Force is strong here, on Bankor." She closer her eyes, her fingers curled to 'talons' as the charm began to rise. "I am not far enough in my skills to fully guide the eddies of the Force in this practice."
Eyes opened, slightly aglow from the magicks of the ritual.
"I know there is conflict. All I can do is work to bring in hope and aid."

"One cannot use the Dark Side to heal Juri. It only seeks to hurt, to twist your emotions until it consumes you."
Qareme looked at the charm.
"The more one calls upon the Dark Side, the more it takes a hold of your heart. Please be careful."

"I have seen what the dark side does to a person without restraint, or one who is so arrogant as to not worry." Small jewels inlaid in the metal darkened, and then brightened, as the magicks worked within them.
"I will be careful, Qareme. I do not wish to lose myself simply for blind power."

"I believe you my friend. I saw your necklace though, and I could feel that something was wrong with it" Qareme looked back to Juri.

"Fear. It's clouding everything. And affecting my work." She responded, as the earrings disassembled and rearranged, the glow imbuing itself in them.
"It is a burden, but the protection this offers is unparalleled." She smiled, watching the female Zabrak for a moment.
