[D10ME] Warrior's Beach

(OPEN, but be chill)
The sun was almost entirely gone, with just a hint of color left on the horizon. But that just meant that the fun was about to begin.
Petrus grunted as he unloaded a transport, carrying a portable generator first. He set it down with a soft thump in the sand, going back almost immediately for the next piece of equipment. And then the next after that.
It looked like he was setting up a sizeable holoprojector, along with beach chairs.
(Season Finale of Warrior's Heart will begin in 24 hours)

Liua, her mother, and Veras were there along with Yusandr and several resistance agents looking to have a relaxing good time.

The Coyote had helped set up for a big cookout, alongside Xanna and workers from the King's Bistro. While Dove herself stayed away from the cooking itself, except for helping with plating stuff up, she managed a makeshift bar. Mixing drinks was much easier than cooking anyway.
Seemed like buying a crate of Corellian whiskey had been a good investment, along with a few other things, and the spy-now-off-duty was serving up drinks to the best of their abilities with what they had to work with.
It seemed the engineered superspy could put her talents to more entertaining use.

If you mention the word barbeque, it is nigh impossible to keep this Mandalorian away. Venator stops by the beach party and tips his helmet to everyone around and greets them. He makes his rounds getting some bbq and a drink.

There wasn't much surprise to it, Jenna could easily be found lending a hand to her brother where she could. Letting him handle the heavier lifting, she brought out what bits and bobs can help and then saw herself to making sure there was room and everyone was comfortable. Handing out towels for those who didn't wan to just sit in the sand but also not in a chair. Taking periodic checks to make sure that all of the side things, like food and drink, properly got access to their stock.
Most people got a smile, she was in a good mood after all.

She had been in the clinic bed for most of the day. Honestly, that is where she was supposed to *still* be, and it was obvious from looking at her. She was weak, and frail looking; supporting herself with a makeshift cane someone had provided her with. Not to mention the bandages across her face. Verse was obviously blind, and in pain.
But somehow she looked serene, and at peace.
Somewhere along the line she'd heard of what Petrus was planning here. Apparently there had been celebrations she'd missed last night, but this time she wasn't going to stay in a bed. She wanted to be with her friends, so she'd set off on an epic adventure... inching her way toward the beach. It had taken her quite a bit longer than she'd expected it to. It took a lot of bumping into things and people before someone finally managed to get her oriented properly and hobbling into the right direction.

Zerras followed Verse. She had slept most of the day, but her dreams had been dark and disturbing. The ordeal with the Sith still weighed heavily on her. She still smiled, though. Physically she was feeling much better. Other than her eyes, most of her wounds had healed.

A bottle was popped and a drink poured for oneself. The tall blonde stared at her glass and then smirked at Dove. "How could I not show up with a bit of Corellian whiskey here?"

Dak showed up of course there was never a gathering or party the Cathar knew about that he stayed away from. He helped with unloading and setting up and even a bit of the cooking. He was no chef but grilling was pretty dang close 5o the cooking you do out in the wild so he'd had a good bit of practice with it.
He was in high spirits tonight, Empire beaten back, resistance strong, all his friends survived. In a war you cant really ask for more than that.

Astin had almost changed his mind about coming when he heard they were showing warriors heart at the beach cookout. I mean there was a beach, who really needed other entertainment then that?
Eventually he relented, he hadn't went into the city yesterday to not drink bourbon. He had joined Dove behind the makeshift bar, and was serving drinks to whoever came along.

Dove laughed, one of relief and happiness. "Damnit, Mia... claiming bottles for yourself now?" chuckling, she hugged the blonde tightly.
"I missed you, sunshine."

Sacha was helping Petrus unload the equipment, but waved to the people she knew.

When she saw Ven, she called out, "Ven, this is gonna be great. The show we're gonna watch is the best-worst thing ever."

Ria'la was propping up the makeshift bar . . . . . . . but he was in control tonight. Just a wide smile across his face as his two droids hung around behind him.
"I think we need a little mood setting. Binky. Playback mode. Low volume. Beach songlist if you please."
With that the larger of the two droids whirred, beeped and started to play low music for the background.

"Sure I can't get you a bottle of Wild Acklay?" Astin asked the reporter as he looked at one of the disposable cups he had been pouring drinks in.
What did a bartender do when they didn't have glasses to clean? Pour a shot for themselves? That sounded like an excellent idea.

"Not yet. Once I start . . . I . . . errr . . . have difficulty stopping these days."
He actually looked embarrassed admitting that.
"And this is one night I'd like to be able to remember clearly."

With a rumble, ten Z95-Headhunters came roaring over the ocean, flying low.
As they approached, the built up a small bow wave, surging in front of the nose of the formation's deflectors. Then, about 600 feet away, they all lifted their noses, splitting out in a wide fan, spreading over the rebel base in a spray of water which fell a few hundred feet short of those partying on the beach, and then, as a breeze followed them over the island, the sky lit in series of cracks and rumbles, as streams of white, orange, and red stars burst overhead, crackling and roaring in a blaze of color.
In the shape of the lights, for just a moment, the symbol of a phoenix could be seen, and then it dissolved into a great wall of color, and the retreating roar of engines as the ten fighters climbed, spiraling and leaving a pillar of colored smoke behind, before splitting out to each cardinal direction, and then looping back toward Rygor for the grand finale.

"Well, being able to admit it is a step in the right direction, or that's what I heard."
Astin offered the other man a smile. "I'll stick to serving you things that are non-alcoholic unless you say otherwise."

"Thank you."
Astin received a genuine big happy smile and absolutely not a 'Hey Handsome' smile despite them being very similar.
He turned to watch the Z-95 display, quickly telling Dray to film it for use in later propaganda . . . . morale boosting films!

Daunt dragged himself to the beach because he wanted to dance and spend some good time even if he wasn't in shape for either of those things. Still, he was putting on his usual face to cover up his sluggish condition. He was there just in time to watch the airshow, so he sat on the beach and did just that.

She heard and felt the fighters, and the fireworks that followed. Alas, she could not see the spectacle, but the oohs and aahs from people nearby told her that it would've been something to behold. She just smiled, continuing to push onward... no doubt bumping into random people on her way to wherever she was going to end up.

Zerras lost track of Verse as she paused to listen to the spectacle above and the cheers below. Smiling happily, she continued down the beach.

Spotting a familiar green face bumping around in the crowd, Astin gestured towards Verse as he replied to Ria'la.
"You're welcome, Ria'la. You mind helping that young lady find a seat? Seems she's likely as not to stumble over something. Guess she was doing a bit of pregaming."

Not actually knowing of the 'temporary' blindness, Ria'la gave Verse a funny look, and then a closer look, and finally a look of 'Oh!'.
"Ah do you need a hand to the bar?"
He addressed her hesitantly trying to remember if he'd actually spoken to her since that day on the prison skiff that seemed so long ago.

Do you need a hand...
"Oh, hello," Verse said with a goofy smile, raising her left hand up in a wave to where the sound was coming from.
The left hand that had been chopped off by a lightsaber and replaced with a clearly mechanical hand; and forearm.
"Is that where they are showing Warrior's Heart?"

"Hey, hey, that's, um," Mia said. She blushed a bit and then shook her head. "I get it. I missed you too. Someone had to chat with the Mon Calamari." She looked at the grill and then smiled faintly. "Could use a meal that ain't fish, really."
