[Day 7 - MM] Resistance Meeting [Closed]

[Jurdak Surt]

Once the meeting had started in earnest Dak had slid away his data pad and for now sat watching and listening to the others as they spoke.

He had some thoughts on the best way to proceed but he wanted to hear Xanna's answer before he made any decisions.

[Xanna Teevou]

"What's the current situation on the Jays for something like that?" Dove asked of Xanna, keeping herself professional. "The last encounter with the senior Inquisitor was rather... unpleasant. Do your two, uh, returned members, have some insights to share on that, perhaps?"

She looked at Dove and nodded. "The best answer to that question is that the Jays will need to deal with that particular problem. This new one is powerful and it will require us to work together to defeat him. We may even need to draw him off to ensure the success of the greater mission."

[Jurdak Surt]

"Not unlike the prison break then, have you jedi lure out the enemy." He spoke, focused on the issue "Those two assets can they be trusted in the field? Seems to me using them is risky." His personal feelings aside there were objective risks to such a thing.

[Xanna Teevou]

"We believe it is best to keep their efforts focused away from the field. Some of their Intel may still be valid but it is likely that the Empire has changed up its operations." It was probably best for everyone if they were kept out of the way for now.

[Dove Gray]

Dove nodded, crossing off something in her mind.

"Let's keep them in the back for the time being, with more focus on what knowledge they could have that is still useful," she looked to Xanna with what was probably a look of understanding. "I'll at least put my trust in your judgement on those two, to do what is best."

What the best was, Dove didn't feel the need to clarify and would let others read into it as they pleased.

"It's likely too risky to have them confront the High Inquisitor."

[Sinnya]

"The tribes have left those two to the Jedi, too." Sinnya put in as this side point was raised. "So far. But some of the people want to know what exactly the Jedi judgement is. Just by the way." She crossed her arms with something of the air of fortifying herself for a siege. "That's not what this meeting is for, so fine. I'm just the messenger. You should know you can't leave it hanging forever, though."

[Xanna Teevou]

"Yes. Dealing with this new Inquisitor is a problem that we Jedi must deal with." She nodded and looked around the table to Sinnya. "This is a fair question. I would imagine that a lifetime of penance would be appropriate, once the immediate problem before us has been resolved. But I will pass this message to Master Oraka. I expect he will wish to speak directly with the Aznuri himself, and I hope that this meets with your approval for the moment?"

She looked back around the table. "So the Jedi will deal with this Inquisitor. Shall we move on to discuss the rest of the plan?"

[Djanik]

"I would recommend we don't completely copy the previous plan - getting predictable has a danger all its own." Djanik considered it. "I am concerned with giving up the element of surprise - if the Jedi were instead part of the raiding team on the station - that would give the Dictator extra impetus to move." A small difference, but one which allowed the jedi to serve as bait and combat asset both.

[Dove Gray]

Dove didn't mind moving on with the meeting. Whatever became of the prisoners wasn't up to her to decide - it would be whatever law the jedi would decide to answer to, and there probably would be disagreements on which laws to follow in the Resistance itself. Not all of them were Republic-folks, after all.

"Right, I agree with Flyboy here. Jedi in the strike team on the station would draw more attention away from Rygor. However, we need to make sure that The Dictator doesn't just decide to bombard their own station if they feel it is too much of a risk of losing it. Or some crazy in charge decides to use a cannon to kill the mosquitoes... in this case, the Jedi."

Tapping her datapad once, she brought up the picture of Admiral Yulani. "As long as Admiral Yulani remains in charge, we're up against a fierce enemy commander. She's not one to use a hammer when a surgical knife works better, and if she senses a ruse, it could be game over."

If there was one person Dove worried could undo everything, it was the Admiral.

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak listened intently "what are the odds that Yulani could be removed from the situation beforehand?" He asked looking up at Dove who had met with the woman "Is that a possibility?"

[Dove Gray]

"It's not impossible, though such a mission would likely require to infiltrate that ship itself. I've not often seen her leave it..." she frowned. "Either way you cut it, it's gonna be risky ops with a lot of unforeseen circumstances."

[Djanik]

Djanik gave a small shrug. "So long as we don't actually take full control, the Empire will be hesitant to bombard their own station - they want it intact - it's an important asset."

Glancing at those gathered, he added, "Besides, these jedi hunters seem to like doing things in person - hard to imagine this one is so different."

[Sinnya]

“The refinery in Rygor's an important asset, too. One of them still shot it up to catch one Jedi," Sinnya reminded the other rebels. "They burned a whole section of Rygor for just a hint of something they wanted. Don't count on Inquisitors to hold back. They'll go after any of the rest of us who get between them and what they want, too." Just look at poor Mahon.

"We can use that, but not if we start by underestimating them. How strong they are, or how crazy they are." She cocked her head and regarded Dove and the picture she'd shown the group thoughtfully. "So they have crazy ones... and really sane ones. Can we do anything with that?"

[Elaranu]

Elaranu was actually listening. Quite intently in fact, mostly because all of this was new information to her. But it was that very fact that made her unable to add anything; She knew nothing about Imperial command, special operations, tactics, or any such thing. She appreciated that she was so much extra weight here, but it wasn't like she'd exactly planned herself here.

[Bowze Coppa]

Bowze began to look worried, probably a sign of a healthy recovery from the rakghoul virus. He took a deep breath before speaking

''I am sorry to say but, with all due respect, most of you are mostly wrong in your analysis of the situation: Bankor is not insignificant nor it is a mere blip on the Empire's radar. We have the highest known population of jedi in the galaxy, as in we actually have one, and two inquisitors betrayed them. On top of that the planet is the primary supply of hypermatter in the region and we just boadcasted a message of defiance. As of now, consider that they consider us public enemy number one and that they will come for us hard. The clock gives us an opportunity but it also works against us.''

He turn to Yusandr

''It is not my professional opinion that our primary objective should not be the Dictator, nor full scale open rebellion. I believe we can win the day...but by playing a shell game.''

[Dapper Dog]

Yusandr nodded for him to continue.

[Ria'la Tu'roth]

Ria'la was scribbling notes into his datapad throughout the conference engrossed in the minutia. He did look a little unhappy at the implied assassination of Admiral Yulani talk but was now giving the CIS General his attention.

The droids were still on the floor behind, very obviously NOT filming anything. Dray was actually spinning on the spot like a children's toy. A sure sign of droid boredom.

[Bowze Coppa]

He continued after the okay from Yusandr

''Our primary objective should be the removal of Captain Hrugros and his closest associates...and the promotion of Commander Jin Serasai in his place.''

He paused to let people contemplate the idea before he gives his reasons why.

''I believe the fall of the Brute of Rygor is something that will inspire our troops and the populace as well as giving us a bit of an edge. Hrugros may be a beast but, everything else aside, he and his men knows enough about Rygor and the surronding area and the population to put serious strain on daily resistance activities, supply lines and so forth. To put it simply: he knows where to hurt us. If the Empire loses an officer with those characteristics everyone here will be better off. If we can promote Commander Serasai and manipulate the situation so that she gets greater ressources and control over Bankor, while passing her as a loyal Imperial patriot, the situation will flip to our advantage: Our activities could be masked from the rest of the Empire.''

[Dapper Dog]

Yusandr replied, "How do we pull that off in two days?"

[Djanik]

Djanik listened to the idea, and then posited, "If we manage a successful attack that inflicts serious damage without taking abhorrent losses, that would likely fall on the shoulders of those currently in command."

A small shrug. "If we achieve this short term goal, with preparation, we can leverage it to more than one long term goal. This mission doesn't have to destroy the station or the Dictator - merely bloody the Imperial nose in a public way, without killing civilians."

[Dapper Dog]

"We have been bloodying their noses for weeks now," she said after a moment of thought. "Why would Hrugas be any different?"

[Djanik]

Perhaps... "I believe a hit this hard would be hard to explain away."

[Dove Gray]

"I don't disagree with removing Hrugos. He's a bastard through and through. Though I am concerned if Serasai will be able to rise to the position and also keep the Admiral in check without tipping her off to her true allegiances."

Dove frowned as she thought about the scenario. "Yulani was sent here by Lord Vader himself, so it is as you say that Bankor is of great interest to the Empire."

[Bowze Coppa]

''The difference is...'' he began ''That all of our other operations never targeted him, nor his imperial standing, specifically.''

He sipped some caff while searching for a file on his pad

''I would like to suggest Operation: Bad Blood...A two pronged action against Hrugos and his goons. The bulk of the operation will be in the hands of two teams: an assault team and an infiltration team. The first team will strike at the Brute. This will also serve as a cover for the infiltration team who will be tasked to get into the hypermatter factory and slice into their database.''

He sent everyone the plans of the old CIS factory as well as the entyr point discovered by Jabber

''The first team will act as saboteurs with the aim of doing damage to the foundry as a guise for getting Hrugos. Killing him is optminal but plan B here would be to have him flee the scene and have 'dramatically appropriately placed security cameras' catch him abandoning his men.''

he glanced at the reporter and his droids for that last sentence

''The second team's aims it to get shipping routes, schedules as well as financial data for the foundry but they will also be in position to put a back door in the system. This will allow to 'be creative' with the records and 'prove' that Hrugos has been tempering with them for his financial gain.''

He paused once more

''These are the great lines for this plan, there are more things to add but before I continue I want to know if everyone is following and on board so far.''

[Dapper Dog]

"It's a sound plan but he is just a symptom, and Serasai isn't an Imperial soldier she is local security," Yusandr corrected. "We can work with your people to do that, but again I want to hit the Dictator."
