Underwater life. (Day 6 Early Afternoon)

There was very little exciting about living underwater, at least to Astin. No place to ride, no open sky, really nothing at all that interested him.

Plus it seemed to be mostly falling apart, which brought him to the room he was in, sitting at some ancient computer trying to get it to turn on the lights so he wouldn't have to work in the dark. It took a while but eventually he was successful. Sadly the flashing on of the lights was soon followed by a series on sparks and pops as more then half of them went out.

Snip
There's some banging on one of the murky windows out into the depths, and what looks like....someone waving?

Dove had been working on her own things near Astin, as she didn't have quite the same skillset to put to use for that kind of work. As she finished up the last details of her jacket, she looked up. Was someone knocking on... the glass?

Was that a sea monster? AStin looked towards the window of the room, only moomentarily frowning about the absurdity of putting windows in underwater facilities. Didn't people know that's how mynocks and sea monsters got it? He was more then a little suprised to find on closer inspection that this particular sea monster was red and seemed to be waving.

"Floats." He offered questioningly, as he returned the wave, well aware that she couldn't hear him. "What are you doing out there?"

She mouths what looks an awful lot like 'howdy' and points a little ways up the facility to an airlock, someone had evidently locked it behind her! Rude, folks were always coming and going through the ocean...sensible folks anyway.

"Is she...?" Dove stepped over for a closer look. "... Swimming out there? At this depth?"

"It seems so..." Astin replied glancing towards the airlock. "Reckin we should let her in though, before she gets eaten by a sea monster of something."

Standing up he moved over towards the airlock. "Ever unlocked one of thse things?"

Floats waves at Dove too

"Blubble gaarble! Gaaarble blubble!"

"Can't say I have... do you think there's seamonsters out there?" If so, she'd have to scrap her beach-plans.

Dove gave a wave back and then pointed at the airlock with a questioning look to Floats.

She holds out her arms and makes a rotating motion, then mimes hitting a button above and to the right.

"Aye, likely only have to worry about them down deep like this though." Astin made a wiggling motion with his fingers, evil things with a thousands tentacles trying to gobble people up... " He replied as he watched floats pantomime what do to,

"I guess i'll give that a try," He muttered as he attempted to follow Floats instructions to open the hatch. Something that took a few moments but he was successful at.

The inner airlock door opens with a groan, the rusty hatch protesting every inch of the way, it then reveals a rather damp chamber with another door to the outside. Looks like someone turned the exterior door access switch from 'Open' to 'Very locked no entry'

Floats' head can be seen through the small porthole in said outer door.

Astin scratched at his chin, it looked awfully moist in the tunnel and he really didn't want to go in. Still, better to let floats in before she got eaten, so tepping into the chamber he unlocked the outer lock before stepping back into the room proper. "Is anythigg here not wet." He muttered under his breath.

"Probably gonna be hard to find a place not-wet in these parts," she chuckled as she thought of the lewd implications of those words.

"At least Floats get to swim around now. Rygor must've been terrible for a Nautolan."

There's the sound of groaning as the hatch is opened on the outside, then water floods in. Despite some leaking, the whole base manages not to flood and a few minutes later a very damp but very happy looking wetsuit clad Floats pads in

"Thank you kindly Mr Astin, Miss Dove. I keep warning them not to lock me out, but most folks around here just die if they're out in the water for too long, real tragic. Would you believe first guy's I waved at ignored me? Some folk got no sense for the kindness of strangers."
Looking between the two of them

"I hope I ain't interrupting though, figured if it was something like that you'd have pulled the blinds down."

"We're working floats. Nothing lewd," Dove assured the dense Nautolan with a smile.

"Wait, you were out there and people didn't let you back in?"

"Dove has a boyfriend anyways." Astin added with a soft chuckle. "But yeah, just trying to get these lights going. "Half of everything seems to want to break when you turn it on though."

"No I don't," she said, a touch harshly as she gave Astin a withering glare for a brief second. Turning around, she stepped away and over to her own work.

"We gotta make due with what we got here for now though." Dove was carrying on as if the boyfriend-remark never happened now.

"Oh, you got a-"
Dove denial

"-You don't got a boyfriend....at all, definitely not. I'm with you Miss Dove, I don't have one either!"
As Dove turns away she gives a blatantly obvious wiiiiink to Astin

"Y'all having trouble with the hydroconverters? Wiring is a real mess around here, mind if I lend a hand? Been feeling like I need to make something today, do something good."

"My mistake, you and Dak just seemed pretty close." Astin replied apology in his tone, and raising his hands defensively.

Figuring she didn't want to talk about it anymore though he let it drop at that. "True, though I think I'd almost be happier camping in the forest."

Astin followed up with a nod towards Floats. "Please, I don't really know much about underwater stuff."

Good Maker, girl, get a grip, Dove chided herself, and did her best to focus again.

"Sure, that sounds like a good idea, Floats. You got a good understanding for aquatic... hydro... water-stuff. Might help if we got you on the outside as we get some things working?"

"Sure! We can make a real team effort of it....but I'm gonna need a commlink so I can holla at yah. It can be kinda lonely out there, well, 'cept for the sharks. But you don't want them getting too friendly, you know what I'm saying?"

"As for a commlink, I have one you can borrow, I'm even pretty sure its water proof."

"Sea monsters? I haven't seen any out there. There was a big 'Ole Opee Sea Killer, but he was off whale hunting and won't bother us...least if he don't mistake the base for prey or something."

Beaming
"I promise I'll take good care of your commlink, treat it like it was my own."

"Do... do I even want to know what a Big 'Ole Opee Sea Killer is? And why it might mistake the base for prey?" Dove asked, suddenly really wary about any bikini-plans she might've had.
