[D6-LM] Finding an Accord

Jabber wasn't quite 100% sure as to why he had volunteered for this. His overall opinion of the Resistance hadn't really changed at all, and he could remember how he was shouted over while he had tried to occur suggestions and ideas at the rescue mission. He had heard from Djanik that they had eventually gone with a version of Bowze's plan anyway, and Djanik had his own frustrations with how they were operating. In the end though, the current Resistance still had the most motive force. If they were ground out, what the CIS was building would never have the chance to flourish.
In the end, it made sense to come to some kind of agreement, he had been the least personally insulted...and even then, Jabber had plenty of experience of swallowing his pride. It was time to look at the big picture, even is the Resistance seemed incapable of that. Not that he would tell it to their faces.
So he had asked Bowze to reach out to the Senator and set up a meeting with the current Resistance leadership...at least whoever wasn't locked up and awaiting execution right now. And regarding that, the Jawa did have one card to play...

He is shown to a hangar bay, well it will be a hangar bay right now it is just a large room with ships parked anywhere they could find space and bring in refugees.
They directed him to a makeshift table where a blonde human woman was trying to organize things.

"Greetings." Jabber offers a small bow. "I do not believe that we have had the pleasure. I am Lieutenant Kineluc of the Coalition of Insurgent Systems. I hope that we have a lot to talk about." Jabber motions to the chair.
"May I?"

She nodded, "Welcome Lt., you must be working with the General?"
She continued looking at maps and directing people to clean areas out an get things organized. She added, "I am listening."

Jabber is a little surprised. From her bearing, this sounds like the Senator that Bowze had spoken of.
"Yes, and the General has endorsed my visit. We both feel that the situation has changed somewhat with the way that the Empire has stepped up its pressure."
Jabber pauses for effect.
"The new CIS is a long term vision, and we believe that with time and resources, we could produce strike forces that could provide pivotal support at key moments. But time and resources are both things that are in short supply right now. We aren't so stubborn as to ignore the Loth-wolf at the door.
"We have a hard time reconciling our methods with the mainline Resistance movement, but as the Empire steps up its pressure, we realize that a partnership at least might benefit both sides. Hopefully there's a long term solution to bring us all under one banner, but in the meanwhile, at least it's something."
Jabber pauses, waiting to see a reaction from the Senator.

“Working together is the only prudent choice moving forward,” she said looking at the map and then directing a technician to go and make some repairs. She continued, “I am not sure what transpired before, but we need to align our resources.”
“You won't get any push back from me, what did you need or how can we assist?”

"From what I understood, our small group formed because we didn't believe that any ideas or plans other than "move in right now and hope for the best" were getting any traction." Jabber shrugs. "We are mortal too, and the fight is as personal to us as it is to the mainline group."
"As I said, we are looking at long term building. I don't want to speak for Bowze, I mean the General, but I am pretty sure that he wants to try to build up a proper army: ships, coordinated groups of soldiers, chain of command. Some kind of model that we could replicate and set up stations of throughout the galaxy. But to keep building, we need time, resources, and personel who know what they're doing.
In contrast, the mainline Resistance is all go now. I can say a lot about them, but one I can't is that they don't have courage a desire to fight. But...perhaps they could use a bit of help to stay alive in the process."
"We can get into details, but the broad outlines of my proposal are this:
We would like material support in the form of parts and raw materials for construction, and would like to be considered an option for anyone who doesn't want to charge directly to fight. In return, we can offer intel from our sensor array, do our best to get this new base of yours up and running, and...we have some information that might be helpful...if you are interested in rescuing those of yours in the Hypermatter plant."

"Of course we are," she said looking at the jawa about rescuing the people.
"I don't see a reason we can't work together."

"Excellent. I believe the general will want to hammer out the particulars about resource allocation, and what support can be reasonably provided. But as a show of good faith, I can give you an entry point into the Hypermatter facility that bypasses the security checkpoints at the entrance." Jabber pauses
"Can you share anything firmer than generalities with me on what we would get on our end?"

"i barely know how many people we have," she said exasperated. "We still have ships coming in, scattered reports and I can't get a hold of Yusandr... this Mahon person, none of the leadership."
"May the Force be with us, we'll help but specifics are a bit beyond me." Power fluctuates and they are in darkness for a second and then it comes back on.

Jabber thinks on it for a moment.
"I'll keep it general for now. If this is going to work, there needs to be a bit of mutual trust, and I am willing to make the first move. There's a sewer tunnel that runs from the basement of Building 3 in the Hypermatter plant to a nearby river. I managed to get through it myself, and I can show you where I got out. I can't promise that it will be a pleasant experience to go through, but likely a lot more enjoyable than blaster fire."
Jabber looks around. "And I can see what I can do around here too before I leave. I have to meet with some vendors to see if I can get us some supplies."

"Thank you." She offered the CIS 1500 credits worth of materials.

Jabber offered a tip of his cap (errr, hood) to the Senator.
"I hope that this is the start of a long and prosperous partnership."
He continued down the hall back to the transport that he brought him here. He idly observes the water.
"Huh...I bet you could sneak a lot of people in and out if you use the tides."
Built on Hope #2-Hard Survival:
4eA+3eD 2 successes, 1 threat
(1 strain?)
It's an offhand remark, and it winds up taking longer than Jabber would like and being more of a headache to recall the tidal charts, but a start of a system begins to be implemented to help keep the base location secret.
