Dak sat with a flask in hand staring out into the ocean depths from a large transparasteel wall. He sat on a large cargo box and took a drink from his flask letting the slow smooth burn of the liquid sharpen his senses before irmt dulled them.
Life had become insane the past few weeks and he wasnt sure about any of it. Well except that he was doing the right thing here but there was so much more. The Hutts, Crinson Dawn, things with Dove, Sacha, the loss of his home, the ex inquisitors that lived with them now. Everything was just so kriffing complicated now.

"Dak, was it not? Do you mind if I join you?"
The Pantoran...chef?...looked like she was dressed for a sporting event, with a halter top and three-quarter length pants. Her backpack was bulging with supplies. She sipped water from a flask and looked out into the ocean.
"This is a beautiful sight. And mercifully cooler than it was earlier." She often wondered if her burden was simply to survive living in hot places forever. "I can leave you to your thoughts if you would prefer?"

Dak looked up and his expression of deep thoughtfulness was quickly replaced with warm invitation "Hey Xanna, yeah that's right Dak's the name."
He slid over to the edge of the large cargo container and motioned for her to join him "By all means a little company never hurt. How are you adjusting to our new home?" He asked offering her the flask as he spoke.

"Thank you. Much better now that there is some semblance of air cooling." She smiled and took the offered seat. "I should not drink, I have already had a beer this afternoon. But I suppose a sip would not hurt." Taking the flask she took a little gulp.
"Oh. Interesting. You know, JB used to make soup with alcohol but I did not carry on that tradition." Her thoughts turned to Rygor. "I wonder if they have closed down my kitchen."
Handing the flask back she opened up the backpack. It was full of material and tools for...making clothes?

He chuckled a little as he took his drink back "I'm sure an alcoholic soup was very popular. I know I'd be interested if I saw it on a menu." He took a sip from the flask "I have been trying to cut back though, it's good but only in moderation."
When she mentioned her kitchen he gave her a sympathetic smile "We can only hope they saw fit to at least run it themselves. You helped a lot of people there."

In the background Ria'la, with droids in tow was raising morale, or at least attempting to with a quiet song popular a few years ago around Rygor. Like right before the whole kriffing thing went to hell with the Clone Wars.
It was, also, moderately effective.

hey, the one from the holonet!) earlier. She thought there might have been an even better tune... she hummed a few bars...
Nah, nevermind, she couldn't remember.

"It certainly was popular, although he only made it once a month." She smiled slightly at the memory. "Moderation seems wise, it would be easy to become dependent in these trying times."
She pulled out some material and a measuring tool, checking some numbers on her datapad.
"Oh yes, if the Empire did not shut it down permanently then my friends will keep it running. And if they did...I can reopen once we have defeated them."
"Oh, I love this song!"

Dak snorted "I know that all too well Xanna." He tucked away the flask in the pocket of his jacket.
He couldnt help but smile at her tone "Confident, hopeful, those are traits we can use right now." Must be that jedi training a lot of them were like that in his experience.
He looked curiously at her tools and materials "What cha workin on?" He asked his head tilting to the side and his tail rising ever so slightly off the box.

She smiled at the tune and looked back to see a big fish swim past. "Oh, this? I am making clothes for a friend." A hand waved at the bag. "I have had some success with incorporating resistant materials into clothing. So I am going to try to replicate this process."
She seemed to know what she was doing and quickly began to layer a few different pieces together. "It is not much protection, but it can turn a blade and looks like regular clothing."

Dak observed her work for a bit before returning his attention to the view port and the reefs teeming with life nearby "Useful skill, that. Going unnoticed is the best protection and a big bulky suit of armor is the fastest way to get noticed."
