[Day 7 - MM] Resistance Meeting [Closed]

Yusandr didn’t like meetings but things were getting kind of official now, there was even talk of uniforms. They had a flight wing and a cruiser and departments… departments! They were not just meeting in Weggs’ garage anymore trying to make trouble.

They were a real organized Resistance. May the Force be with them because this was getting real serious, real fast. She looked at Rayne and Weggs and then waited in the CIC, they had a CIC now, for the rest of the meeting participants.

OOC: Open to select folks, PM the GM if you are unsure.

Dove showed up.

It had been... a rollercoaster of a couple of weeks for her. It had taken her a couple of days to have her breakdown and get over it, and after it she had thrown herself into the work of the Resistance to get a proper Intel-thing up and running. Sure they were still in the start-pit, but it was a beginning.

Everything had to start somewhere...

Djanik entered the meeting garbed in his uniform, hastily donned, but he hadn't had time to remove all smudges on his face and hair from the work he'd been doing.

Zero-7 had scraped a port stabilizer, so they'd been swapping that out.

Saluting to those present, he then made his way to a seat.

With a datapad in one hand, he flipped through it, trying to do some stock work really quickly before the meeting started.

Wearing her sleek grey and black 'ready for anything' outfit Xanna arrived and took her place at the table. At some point over the last few weeks she had become the Jedi liaison to the Resistance. A nod to those gathered was accompanied by a warm smile.

She placed her datapad on the table and called up a few files. It had become quite the operation from its humble beginning as a rag-tag bunch of idealists. Mahon would have been pleased to see that.

Next to Dove was Dak wearing much different clothes than people would be used to seeing him in. He wore sturdy deep blue pants and shirt with a tactical vest of the same color over it.

He had come to Yusandr weeks ago pitching the idea of consolidating they possible intelligence assets into an actual division. Dove was of course his first call in getting this going and the two had been working at a break neck pace getting things off the ground.

He sat next to Dove and tapped away at a data pad waiting for the meeting to start.

Having been working on their comms gear for some time it was not a surprise to see Ria'la there to head up the Propaganda Division.

He slipped into a seat while his camdroids settled on to the floor behind him and went into power saving mode.

Bowze, or Nato, arrived in the conference room wearing his CIS general uniform. As a consummate professional, he took the liberty of briging in fresh caff and donuts for those assembled.

''Good morning everyone'' he said on a cheerful note

After putting the foodstuff down he took a cup for himself and sat next to Djanik

''Captain''

"Good morning." Her Senior dishwasher, first class, received a smile. It was good to see Bowze so cheerful. She gratefully took a cup of kaff and the smallest donut.

''How are you Miss Xanna? Settled in?'' he asks, opening his datapad

"I am very well, thank you Bowze. I divide my time between here and our training locations." She smiled. "We have even managed to set up a restaurant here, you should visit it if your schedule allows."

''I will certainly try'' he replied graciously ''Have heard anything about Miss Vuxia?''

Yusandr sighed and said, “I will get right to it, we just got word from our off world contacts that a big op is going down across the galaxy, multiple resistance units are moving to attack major Imperial targets. Such a joint offensive should keep the Empire guessing at where to put their resources. This will go down in two days about midnight Rygor time, I am of a mind to participate and hit the Empire where it hurts.”

“The Dictator.”

“This won’t be easy though. We are looking at mobilizing nearly everything we got to pull this off. I am all ears if this sounds crazy but the window is there, we have the means, and if we show we are in the fight, we can keep the Imps guessing as at least a dozen worlds fight back,” she said firmly.

“We are going to need air support, ground teams, and anything else we go to pull this off. Our biggest hurdle is to get the Dictator away from the city.”

Bowze steepled his fingers, listening. He raised a hand

(ooc: Knowledge warfare to know the Dominator's class and Bex Station's defenses?)

OOC: He has a very solid idea of what they are up against, I can't be arsed to write it up but he knows the statistics like a nerd. Overwhelming odds.

Bowze tapped a few things on his pad then forwarded it to those presents

''Captain Djanik can correct me if I am wrong but these are the approximative fighting specs of the standard Imperial Star Destroyer and what I guess is Bex station's.''

He sipped some caff

''Like you can see we can't fight it directly without another capital ship...but having it leave the city could be done if we lure it by making a diversion attack on the space station.''

"Not a bad idea," Dove rubbed her chin for a moment, nodding. Unlike many of the others, she wasn't really one to look at her datapad at a meeting like this.

"We have some info on The Dictator from my visit there some weeks ago, but we'll need more for an attack like this. And we also need to dig more into what the Empire knows at the moment."

Djanik glanced at the information.

"You've underestimated the drive strength - those things are a lot faster than they look."

Glancing at Yusandre, he added, "I have to agree that a frontal assault on that ship is borderline suicidal, but it does have weak points... structural locations that are less sturdy. I'm not sure what you have in mind, Commander, but there are some places that fighters, or strike teams planting some serious explosives inside the hull, could do damage that would put it back in drydock for months, if not longer."

A small shrug. "I'm curious what your plan is - we can get it off station with a feint toward the defense platform, I agree, but where we go from there... I have some ideas, but most of them are almost certainly one way trips."

Taking a mug of kaff, he listened for more information.

Ela slunk in more than it could be said she walked in; She was feeling better, but well did not mean comfortable. The whole concept of being a rebel or outlaw... whatever these people chose to call themselves, was distasteful to her. But she couldn't deny it was warranted. To one extent or another.

Sitting behind Djanik, she slumped into a chair, taking out her datapad and playing some Credit Crush with a frown.

Ria'la listened. He knew little about military tactics but what he did know was News, and this could be Big News. Especially with the comms he had access to now.

"Even a small victory can be used here. I can spin it into something much bigger in concert with the other efforts across the galaxy."

by Sinnya
Sinnya was present, having stepped into the ad-hoc role of Aznuri liason in the weeks since Ru'ni had made himself scarce. She was a qualified starship pilot now (apparently, insofar as having part ownership of a freighter counted as a qualification), but that didn't give her any special insight into the ship tactics it would take to bring down a monster like the Dictator.

"What about the ground teams? How's that fit in?"

"I agree about small victories - if we plan to fight this out the whole way - to try and overthrow the Empire, it's going to be slow going."

Djanik tapped a few keys and pulled up some details, sending them to the display.

"However, we're also currently pretty far away from the main Imperial deployment zones - meaning sending ships this far out is costly, and weakens other garrisons. If we can stay alive and fighting - keep winning small, heavily publicized victories - that can serve as inspiration for people all over the galaxy. Right now, every time we do damage and survive, we are creating a record that rebellion isn't impossible... and if enough people believe that, it might actually become true."

"So a feint against the Station would seem to have potential. Presumably we would need to get teams onto both the Dictator and the station to help with bringing down their weapons systems? And in the worst case to move the Dictator of it does not take the bait." She paused and looked at Bowze and Djanik. "Would it be possible to have a strike team isolate and operate the ship's engine controls for long enough to move it away from Rygor?"

Tapping her chin she added: "Of course the biggest unknown factor is the Inquisitor. We Jedi may be able to lure him into using at least some of the Imperial forces to hunt us."

Her eyes narrowed disapprovingly at the Chiss slinking in late and seemed to be playing some games on their datapad.

"What's the current situation on the Jays for something like that?" Dove asked of Xanna, keeping herself professional. "The last encounter with the senior Inquisitor was rather... unpleasant. Do your two, uh, returned members, have some insights to share on that, perhaps?"
