[Day 8 - EM] Aquaphobia (open)

Having landed the New Hope tentatively, Elaranu made her way out to the main base... and immediately was hit with a dizzy spell as she saw the hallway. She had already been on edge just ~knowing~ the base was under water. But being able to see it through glass? She hadn't counted on windows, let alone whole hallways.
The Chiss woman closed her eyes and tried walking forwards, hand out to feel for when she found the... wall. But as soon as she touched glass the panic attack started in earnest and her legs gave out. Sitting on the floor with her legs to the side, she looked down at the floor, gasping for breath.

"Are you alright?" A young voice asked as footsteps rapidly approached. "Do you need help?"
Zerras knelt beside the woman with a concerned expression, offering her hand.

Ela just shook her head a little, though it was unclear at to what she was responding to. Her arms wrapped around her body though, to slow their shaking a little bit.

The woman didn't appear to have any obvious injuries, so Zerras relaxed a little. "Can I get you something?"

The voice that replied was dry, soft, "Um... perhaps... you could help me up? I... might be okay if I can make it out of this verchanp hallw-way..."

"Alright." She took the woman's arm and helped her to her feet. For her age, Zerras was pretty strong and the Chiss would find any physical support she might need, along with a comforting guiding hand.
"This way." she led her away from the windows.

Ela closed her eyes again as she was helped up, letting herself be led away. Even with her eyes closed, the world span and her legs shook, breath coming in quick pants. "Just... say when... I can open... my eyes..."
She draped an arm around the person for support, not quite tall enough to be comfortable draping it over the person's shoulders, even if they were on the short.

She brought her into an interior hallway with no exterior views. "I think you'll be better in here."

Ela gave a small nod and cracked open her eyes. Things were more dim, and more comfortable, "Yes yes... this feels better."
She let go of the other person to see if she could move on her own now.

Zerras step away to give her room, but remained nearby. "You look better."

"I do not feel better. The average for me for the symptoms to go away is ten point eight minutes, but sometimes it takes more or less obviously."
Finding a wall, Ela slumped against it in a sitting position, "I just need to sit for a moment, clear my mind. You have been much help miss...?"
She looked at Zerras with cloudy red eyes.

"Zerras Blume." she introduced herself. "I'm glad I could help. Is there anything I could get you? I'm sure we could find a more comfortable place to sit."

Ela chuckled breathlessly, "I am Elaranu. Just Elaranu. And I am sure it would be great if you could produce a leather recliner or something, but I somehow think this is not the place for that sort of thing, no?"
She panted as she talked, still out of breath.

"Probably not." she admitted as she sat down next to Elaranu. "So, it was the water?"

A small nod, "I... do not like the water. Particularly with so much of it above me like... .like that. It brings back bad memories."

She offered a sympathetic nod. "It's definitely intimidating. I can't imagine what it would be like for anyone with such memories. There are several areas like this, though, where our location isn't as evident."

"Mmmm... I could not tell from the hangar. Either way, I am not sure how much time I will be spending here; The ship I am working on is in the northern outpost, not here."

"Oh? I only recently arrived on Bankor and am still learning about what the Resistance has done here." she looked around. "I didn't expect this."

"I did not expect... any of this either."
A dry chuckle, Ela closing her eyes, "I came here to make credits, not fight the government."

"Then I thank you, for helping with the latter." she smiled. "I'm still trying to figure out where I can help."

"No need to thank me. Thank the Imperials for making a simple mechanic a target for their silly purge."
She opened her eyes again, "What did you do before you came to Bankor?"

"I hid." she admitted. "I helped those who I could, but I'm not a mechanic or a healer. Mostly, I just helped with physical labor, really. I'm still learning what I am."

"Any group could use physical labor. And if you are good at staying hidden, perhaps... special operations or information gathering? You certainly have an advantage in the latter as a human, no? The Imperial government seems to be more suspicious of non-humans."

"I'm good at hiding, as long as I stay on undeveloped outer rim worlds and don't do anything significant." she shook her head. "I won't do that anymore. I came here to do more, to be more active. I'll find my place."

"Then feel free to ignore my ramblings; I really know nothing about organizing organizations or getting the most out of its members. Have you talked to anyone with a degree of experience?"
