Dak had finished a cycle in the refresher after his work out and he was feeling, well, rather refreshed. But now it was time to get to business he pulled out his data pad and started reviewing notes and other pieces of intel regarding the ops tonight making sure that everything was in place and ready to go to the best of his ability.

Vaya was there, working on a datapad and one of the room's consoles simultaneously. She seemed intent, but overly so, like a string kept too taut for too long. She had a headset over her ears and hadn't noticed Dak's entry, and so was entirely unselfconscious when she cursed in Old High Galactic and smacked the table. She pulled off the headset, went to drink from a metal cup, and grimaced to see it was empty.

Rising, she finally noticed the company in her corner of the room. "Tanned, rested, and ready?" she said dryly.

Dak had ignored the outburst from earlier and had kept shuffling data tapping keys and the like. When he heard Vaya he looked up with a smile "I did spend some time on the beach this morning thanks for noticing." Cathar for obvious reasons did not tan.

"What are you working on that's got you more wound up than a Nexu Cat?"

Vaya gave him a squint-eyed look, some combination of skepticism and too much time spent staring at a screen. "That sounds like the sort of saying you're allowed to use and I'm not." She rubbed the bridge of her nose with the hand not holding an empty cup. "Trying to catch up on the backlog of Imperial intercepts from the listening post. People," and droids, and whatever you count HYDRA as, "do most of the decrypting and analysis on-site, but I guess there's always more to do." She looked at him a bit more clear-eyed. "You know, I'm not sure I ever learned how you got from stepping carefully over pools of blood in the Salty Nerf for Vandil's credits to..." she waved her cup generally at the room, the Sword, their circumstances.

A late lunch taken care of after getting up late, Elaranu made her way around the base some more, trying to relax in preparation for what had been planned for later. A plan she was still sketchy on, but she was fine with that. It gave her something else to think about.

And thus here she was, going to look over things rather than think about the crushing depths of water pouring into places and...

It seemed she had not been the only one with the idea, though she did not recognize either of them offhandedly from just a glance. She went immediately over to a planetary map, a hologlobe with various interactables assigned to it.

Dak chuckled "I could ask you the same thing. Though I suppose you got mixed up in whatever this NuCIS thing is." He said barely holding back a scoff "but we're lucky to have you on board I remember doing that first job with you, you're smart and more than capable."

He set his data pad down and crossed one leg over the other "As for me, I knew people involved found my way to a meeting after the Aznuri massacre and joined up. Realized this place had no dedicated intelligence gathering effort or analysts or operatives and figured I'd change that." He had been responsible for requisitioning parts of the base for intelligence consolidation, operative training, and data storage.

Seeing the Chiss enter Dak gave her a wave and a smile "Hey there Elaranu, what brings you in?"

She shrugged with one shoulder, her face remaining casually friendly with the smirk that often found itself there. "I guess we're both guilty of assuming the other was a hardened criminal, unlikely to be swayed by from profit by ideology. It sounds like your career left you better prepared for life as an insurgent than mine did, though." She gestured backwards at the console she had worked at.

Elaranu. "Djanik's friend?" she said. "The one who helped with the Jolly Roger. I hope the notes I left made sense." The toasted the other woman with her empty cup.

"Mister Surt, was it not? And that must mean you are Miss Meadow. Yes, your notes were of immense help; It is too bad Mister Coppa did not get them to me sooner, or I might have saved some time."

She looked between the two, "I hope I am not interrupting anything?"

"No, just aurum-bricking. And Vaya's fine." She stared with frank curiosity at the other woman. "Djanik didn't mention that you'd come so far from home to get to Bankor."
