Inside the room lurked one of her greatest enemies. An oppressor of boat mechanics. A brute and a thug. A black wearing shiny haired villain.

Still, that didn’t mean she had to be rude. Floats knocks firmly on the door.

Valus meditated in the rock garden.

Valus meditated in the rock garden.
Floats pokes her head in and then, upon not being told to leave or shot at with lightning, slowly sends the rest of her body through the portal and into the garden proper.

She tries a little way to get Valus' attention, but appears loath to disturb him while meditating.

"Valus right? You're going by Valus these days? I know I'm probably interruptin' and all, but I figured we should have a little chat, if that's okay."

"It is my name, Floats," he said calmly. "And yes I agree."

"Well, it's nice you remembered me, given I remembered you real good."
She approaches and perches on a small boulder, peering over at the former inquisitor

"So......"

"I apologize, I know it is only words but they are sincere," he said after a beat.

She leans forward and peers at him, twisting her head this way and that.

"Really truly? And you're on the straight and narrow now?"

"Hardly, I am only trying to be a better Jedi today than I was yesterday, and more importantly a better person," he said honestly.

"One moment will not change what I have done, not even a lifetime."

"Hmmmm"

She continues to peer at him, the silence stretching further and further until it goes from awkward to deafening.

"Okay, I forgive you." And she extends a greasy hand.

He accepted it and said, "You do not have to forgive just because I am here, I have earned your animosity many times over, Floats."

"Still, thank you."

"Oh I'm still mad about my shop, and the kid, and my shoulder, real mad. But a good jedi don't stomp around mad every day thinking 'bout past wrongs, that's how you get into trouble."

Firm shake!

"I've heard a thing or two about folks redeeming themselves, and if you're sincere then I'm not gonna give you more grief than is owed, and even that can be delayed a smidge. Still, if I ever go back to my shop, you owe me a window, you hear?"

"Let's just start with the window, don't want you writing cheques you can't cash. But I mean, if you're in the market for a boat...."
Darn it, focus

"You can let me know later. For now I'm just interested in your story. Dazcron told me all sorts of things about jedi going bad and sith coming good in the old days. But you're the first non-cube I've met with actual experience there."
Holding up her hands

"Though I suppose you might not wanna talk about it, which is fair."

"I will share what I can, if you think it will be helpful," he said after a moment of consideration.

"What would you like to know?"

"Well, how'd it happen? You were a jedi with nice hair and everything one minute, then you weren't. Something happened."

"Slowly."

Valus continued, "There was an accident in battle and my allies though i died I was on my own and Order 66 made that worse and then I began to be hunted... when my Hunter finally caught me he overpowered me with ease. Lord Vader was no kind and he made me endure torture and grueling tests until I had to give in to the Dark Side to survive... it was not swift but it was thorough."

"I was driven by fear."

"Fear of dying? Of being hurt?"
She takes a deep breath, crossing her arms
"I can get that, anyone would be."

He held up his cybernetic arm and said, "This was my reward for completing my training. He severed my arm as a reminder of his power."

"....What a dick!...Sorry, language I know. But that's just real cruel. Round here it's much easier to lend someone a hand."
Pursing her lips

"And so after that you were in a very bad place and just full of anger and what not?"

"Ah huh. And then you started wearing black and getting into trouble, it sure does sound like Dazcron was saying. Probably felt real lonely up there."

"Well, I'm sorry it all happened that way. I can't imagine it....well I can, and it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it, but it sounds about as bad as it can get."

Swinging her legs
"So what's your plan now?"
