[Day 8, MM] A Knight is like a half, or a quarter Master?

It had felt as though her arms were on fire. Taking a stim had helped her to push past the pain for now, but she continued to go sleeveless, allowing the cool Temple air to take some of the edge off the burns. There was so much to do, so many questions, and no time like the present. Perhaps she would check for Bacta, or more likely Kolto, later.

With the trials complete her thoughts had turned to the previous day's conversation with Usef. Not the bit about marrying one of his sons, the part about how the Jedi could afford anything. Her recollection was that the council had provided from the Order's reserves, but she had been a Padawan and had not really thought much more about it. Now she was a Knight, and one of a handful left in the Galaxy, the question of resources had taken on a greater importance.

"Master Surro? This is Knight Teevou. If it is not too much trouble, may I request information on the state of our supplies and resources? I am guessing that the Sixth Line saw fit to make provision for future operations from this location?"

Master Surro appeared and said, “Our supplies are in a poor state, Guardian Malvik has made shoring them up her first course of action.”

Xanna nodded, it was not unexpected. "Perhaps I can assist her in some way Master? I might be able to call in a favour for a start."

Usef kept going on about how wealthy he was... It seemed a reasonable place to start.

"That would be quite useful, thank you," she said warmly. "We have water stores, but perishable food items are in short supply. There is a farm, but it will be several months before the harvest is viable."

She tapped her chin with an index finger. "Hmm. I could also speak with the suppliers who provided for my soup kitchen. Do we have credits available for purchasing goods, or are we starting from scratch in that regard too?"

"The Malveaux were a wealthy family, and I have used some inventive means to reestablish that credit line, it's a legal grey area," she said with a smile.

Xanna raised an eyebrow. Her former Master would have approved. "I...see. Well that is good news Master. It is not as though the Empire is going to turn a blind eye to acquisitions under the name of the Jedi Temple."

"So, we need food. What about medical supplies, ships, droids, and parts for lightsaber creation and maintenance?" She shrugged. "Perhaps I can get a bulk discount." Pulling out her datapad she started tapping away, entering in some details. Not so unlike running a soup kitchen after all...

"Guardian Malvik has a ship, but the rest is in short supply, we do have droids and parts to maintain them," she responded.

She nodded and made a few notes. "My friend should be able to help us with many of these things. I will look into it and see what can be done. Is there anything else that I should look for Master?"

"I trust the insight of a Knight to know what we will and will not need," she said warmly.

Xanna had failed the Test of Insight but decided not to raise that particular point. It would be an opportunity for growth, yes, why not?

"Very good Master, I will see to it. Thank you for your time." With a nod she put the datapad away and pulled out her comlink.

I am making a supply run. Food, equipment, etc. If anything vital is required please send me a reply.

Message to Usef:
Good morning, your favourite Jedi is now a Knight. Are you available in [LM timeslot]? I would like to discuss some resource and supply matters with you.

Usef replied <Why I always have time for you, of course!>

Malvik replied with a rather exhaustive list of needs prioritized by severity.

<Wonderful Usef, I will see you soon>

<Thank you Guardian, I will do what I can>

Xanna walked to the ship, slowly taking in the surroundings and enjoying the feel of the Temple. The architects really liked their wide open spaces.
