[D7 MM] Ship to Wreck

Sacha sat up on top of the junked out freighter she'd gotten ahold of with Venator. It had been moved to the hangar for simple ease of storage and repair - she could deliver it to where he wanted it when it was ready.
Her legs were hanging into a hole where she'd opened one of the plates, working away at something in the innards of the ship. Something snapped, and she suddenly shouted, "Kriff!"

Jenna had been walking the base, it put things in perspective of course this included the Hanger eventually too. Figured she'd make a double call of it, make sure the Warriors Heart was in good condition still, not that it'd seen damage but... clean, nice and respectable. Part of her still didn't trust her brothers cleaning habits but maybe that too would improve.
Course, that was when she heard a bang and a shout, walking over she leaned down to look up from under, "You uh.. ok up there?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," grumbled Sacha's voice from above. "Dropped the damned spanner. Don't suppose it fell through down to where you are, did it?" She asked with a sigh.

"Lemme see," she said, getting down underneath the ship and looking around a bit. Wasn't on the floor, not that she saw and it was smooth so it couldn't have fallen out of sight. Looking up into the hole she found it barely teetering at the edge of the opening right above, "Oh," she said, collecting it quickly, "well, that was.. I got it!"

"Oh, you are the absolute best," she said, clambering over the hull of the ship and down the ladder to her. "How're you?"

"I'm," she paused for a split second, the pause of someone who could go into something in more detail but wasn't sure they wanted to.
"I'm good," she settled on, "thinking about taking our own ship out for a bit later and was swinging through to check it's all in order? You?"

"Working away at this thing," she said, tapping the hull of the ship. "It's a little worse for wear right now, but I should have it more put together by tomorrow." She paused and added. "Though I'm never so busy that I can't be an open ear if you ever need one."
It was best to have it said, but leave it open for her to take or leave as she wished.

Jenna thought on it for a moment, shrugged, "Thanks, Sacha," she stepped back away from the ship and looked at it more in full view. "How about this ship though? Can't be too easy getting to work on it in that armor of yours, no? Could maybe be that you need a hand here and there? Don't got a very pressing schedule today, could lend you a hand if you like?"

Tossing the spanner up in the air with a spin and then catching it again, Jenna was quick behind, "After your lead," she said, a hint of a smile played out as she climbed up behind the other woman.

Sach resumed her seat and gestured into an open plate of the hull. "Something's pretty enthusiastically stuck in there. I've been trying to get at it, but the armor, like you implied, is getting in the way some."

"Always been good," she said, holding out the spanner to Sacha again looking for her to take it, once she did, Jenna slipped into the space somewhat. Knowing, through experience, what she can get into and out of, she searched around inside, "at getting myself into things. Luckily," she said, grabbing out the, whatever it was, and retracing her steps to get herself back out.
"I've always been," a breath from the exertion, "pretty good at getting myself back out too," she glanced aside. It was an interesting note to touch on, considering, she smiled at the thought and then looked back at Sacha, holding out the whatever it was.

Looks like this was at one time Mandalorian ship and she finds an ingot of beskar'gam in a hidden compartment while working along with a traditional dagger and written in old Basic Oddyn Viszla.

She sucked in a breath as she opened the thing Jenna pulled out, revealing the beskar and dagger. She ran gloved fingers carefully over both. "This is a hell of a thing you pulled out, Jenna..."

Looking it over she shrugged, "I've no idea what it is-" she paused, thought about it a lot. Mandalorians got talked about a lot, the connection with Beskar, ceremonial type stuff, religious view on the art of warfare, all of it. Came with the territory she worked in that people tended to talk about them in awe, like they were walking instruments of raw power.
Then it hit, "Is that.. beskar?" she hazarded the guess, "and what about the dagger?"

"That's-" she stopped herself short, worried about which thought might come out. Was about as old as the temple they found, and she was quite sure she shouldn't openly talk about that, "-old," she finished the pause.
"Could this ship really be that old? And you flew it here!?"

"... Well, more like towed-slash-limped-slash-cajoled it here," she replied. "It's not going to lift off again until I get it fixed, but it's really in good shape when you think about that kind of age. I suppose someone could have stolen the items and to smuggle in a newer shop, but the ceremonial dagger is only worth much to another Mando."

"Could be," she said, furrowing her brow as she thought on it some more. "More like an old smugglers compartment, or the like, could be that they thought they could sell the blade to a collector and make off like a bandit with the Beskar. Then, whatever happened to them happened, their ship ended up where you got it and.." she shrugs, "rest is history."

"Yeah, that makes sense. Could go either way... This is an old kriffing ship," she replied. "Probably rebuilt like this a bunch of times."

"Sure you want to trust this bucket of bolts then?" she said, "Can only put it back together so many times if you think the ship itself might actually be that old, or at least parts of it are.. maybe replace that bit there, at least, huh?"

"You're absolutely right about that. A lot of it is still good, but there's a lot needs replacing, too," she agreed, banging on something for emphasis, which promptly fell. "That's why we gathered a lot of materials for it."

There was a thought, a bit of a stretch but with everything on her mind and the ship that was almost as ancient as time itself underneath her she got to thinking, "Sacha," she'd said after some pause, maybe even more work, "you.. you're a Mandalorian.. and I've, I've heard the stories, the tales, I've shared my circles in the darker corners of the galaxy and know what you and your people can do but I don't.. being a Mandalorian doesn't seem like something you just retire from someday, but someday.. you'll be old, and frail, like the rest of us.. someday, you won't be able to wear that armor.."
"Someday.. what do you do when you reach that someday? What do.. what do you plan to do?" she asked, hesitating occasionally and pulling it up slow, careful.

She paused speaking to consider the question, setting aside the fallen piece of her ship. "A Mando is never not a Mando. There are a few who'd rather die in battle than live that long, but most of us spend more time in our enclaves, finding other ways to make ourselves useful. An old Mando has a lot to teach, and education is sacred."
She spun her spanner and stepped in further, starting to work on something. "If I live that long, I'll probably still be fixing and making stuff when I'm old. I guess we'll see if I get to that point."

"Hope you do," she commented, looking on at her, "I'm still.. I'm still a bit surprised, really, with how you met my brother. Never expected a Mandalorian quite like you.. at least, from what I heard in the stories."
"If.. if we make it through whatever happens next," she said, a brief smile, "I want.. a farm, somewhere, someday. If you.. if you can eat? With the rest of us at like.. a table, I'd love for you to visit. I.. I would love for you to visit anyway, but to get everyone around that table someday that's... That's the dream."
