Djanik was back in the hangar, trying to get the grip right.

A little work on his own project, and then he'd be back to his main goal... getting the ships painted.

With an idea in mind, he set to work, trying not to let himself get distracted.

As he finished, he slid the blaster into the holster inside his jacket with a satisfied grin.

That was more like it.

Heading back to the hangar itself, he picked up the airbrush, ready to resume where he had left off.

He'd had some ideas, and now with some scrap metal to serve as a stencil, white paint, and a breath mask, he went back to work, fighter by fighter, humming merrily.

''That is an interesting modification you made there...is that the weapon we found in the lab'' came from Bowze behind him

"Yes."

Djanik felt the blaster, weighing it in his hands, trying to tune the weight in the grips to counter the forward tilt of the long barrel.

"It's an old, and I mean old, design. From the days of limited output power cells."

He showed the rotating cylinder, swinging it out and then locking it back into place. "It actually has to cool them down between shots, so you rotate between a set. They don't last very long either, so you carry a lot of spares..."

With a faint shrug, he added, "But it means it can actually shoot faster, and more accurately, than many modern blaster pistols, once you get the hang of it."

Smiling, he sequenced the cylinder with one hand, getting the weight in the other. "It's a more involved gun, but that makes it more fun to shoot."

Vaya had been taking a tour of the Jolly Roger. She didn't know much about ships, but she knew a hunk of junk when she saw one. She approached Bowze and Djanik with her datapad, looking grimy with ship-based effluvia. Unbegrimed (perhaps only donned after she had stopped crawling around maintenance nooks and crannies) was the silvery crown.

"I don't want to know where this thing came from or why it was where we found it," she said, rubbing her temple like she felt a migraine coming on (and being discrete about the CIS icebase). "It's got damage like it's been in at least half of the twenty least ship-friendly atmospheres this side of the Core."
