The Armorer [Sacha Q&A]

Sacha was fun. Originally, her Force sensitivity only existed because Armorer is really good for what I wanted her to be, but it ended up becoming a decently significant thing for her without supplanting her Mandalorian identity. She was fun! I'm toying with bringing her back, but it really depends on how her post-game goals pan out.

Well don't leave us hanging! What is Sacha gonna be up to?

I really enjoyed this take on a Mandalorian. It was fun seeing it in the show, and you really brought it out.

What were some interesting twists and turns for the character during the game? Anything that changed her direction?

Her long term goal is to follow in Tarre Viszla's footsteps in some way - her eventual goal is to retrieve the Darksaber and lead.

I'm glad you thought so.

She had a confrontation with some Jaklu warcats fairly early on that really changed things for her, since it made her aware of her... other talents. Before then, she was just going to finish her apprenticeship, and her biggest ambition was probably to help the Nite Owls with her skills. Her time on Bankor really opened up her mind as to what was possible for her.

Did you always envision Sacha weighing in on team resistance? Do you see the war on Bankor changing her character arc?

She was always going to be somewhat against the Empire. Initially, she was quite uncomfortable around outsiders. The War on Bankor actually opened her up as a person to others a great deal. She found, partly because of Floats, that she wanted to connect with others outside of the Mandalorians. It pointed her toward possibly trying to involve them more deeply in the events of the galaxy. Her resentment about the Mandos' situation has narrowed from outsiders in general to the Empire in specific.

Fun note the scene with the warcats was a throwback to s similar scene in Old Era Bankor, a nod to Wayne's character as those animals are drawn to Force sensitive characters.

Ha, way cool! There were so many Easter Eggs I missed in this game. XD

Again, we talk a lot so no real questions. I loved reading Sacha, especially through several lenses

-From having just played a Mandalorian to see you play the culture.

-My deep love of the Armorer Tree, combined with the Armorer character in The Mandalorian (this battle cleric keeper of her people type).

-As one someone engaged in the romance angle

Seeing her come out of her "shell" as it were, and step into a path that's bigger than herself, I'm looking forward to seeing where you take her.

Sacha was great. She protec, she attac, but most importantly she Mando like a boss. Oddyn's dagger is in very good hands. Our forest talks are the highlights of the game for me, especially the one that revealed our conflicting alignments. You played her organically, and like Juri I am glad I witnessed the evoluton. Keep it up!

Thank you both! I'm glad you enjoyed reading her and our threads together. I felt like there were ways I could have done better by her, but overall I'm happy with how things went.

I'm glad we had a chance to make good on her connection with Juri. They clicked quickly, and despite our few threads, it felt natural to me. She's hoping eventually she can find a path that will let her show Juri her face.

The dynamic with Daunt was fun. The conflicting attraction and repulsion because of backstory and the conflicting alignments that they seemed to just decided could let lie for the moment to have what they had right then.

Sacha's defining moment from the past?

Highlight of the game?

Moment of despair?

Most un-Mando-ish In character thought?

1) By the time Pre Viszla died, she was already halfway out the door. She knew something was up with the outsiders in the pod from the beginning, but didn't feel quite comfortable fighting her leaders on the subject at the time.

2) Her encounter with 13 and the assault on the Mandalorian Enclave. It really galvanized her - she realized she couldn't just sit by. No group is an island, and the problems of outsiders were affecting her people, while the problems of her people and the outsiders were tied together. Amusingly enough, she'd also never been told she had any kind of destiny before, and she didn't really believe it but also kind of wanted to. It, among other things mentioned before, made her think bigger.

3) Oddly, she's never really had one. Throughout the game, she's recognized some negative aspects of herself and her people, but it's all stuff she could help or change. The Enclave assault was repelled. She was sad for the losses and mourned them, but there was never a moment where she was anywhere close to hopeless.

3) Gushing over cute animals a bunch. She's very much a sparkly-eyed bunny hugger.

It was nice having another Mando around and an armourer to boot. I wished we had some more threads together but our different starting locations made that a bit difficult. Though I will look forward to have both our characters back in a future game if that is possible.

So what made you settle on going down the armourer path?

TBH, I just really liked the character in the show. I thought she was super cool and interesting, and expanded on the Mandos in interesting ways. I also like make tech crafters. As for the character build choice, I was like, "I really like the abilities in this tree. But do I want to be Force sensitive? Is that too much? ... Fuck it, YOLO."

Just wanted to drop a line and thank you for being perhaps the least likely friend for Jurdak. I had expected them to be enemies or at best settle into an uneasy business like partnership but Sacha was so caring and passionate Jurdak couldnt help but like her once he got to know her. It was an excellent chance for him to observe his own prejudices and realize maybe not all mandos are so bad. Was great fun thank you!
