Did Bowze really buy into the CIS cause, or was he in it for family/personal gain?
A lot of his methods and attitude came out in threads, but his motivations to get back into the business remained a little bit hidden behind that cowardly neimodian fascade.

Bowze was the earnest nemoidian you'll ever find
The initial intent for the character was to fade into the background, his CIS past as a dark secret of which he was deeply remorseful. Plans changed day 2 with the Aznuri massacre. The event pretty much shellshocked him out of any delusion of secluded peace and put him on track to involve himself against the Empire.
His methods were both shaped by his past and his experience (also by a degree of justified paranoia). His intentions, however were genuine as can be. Fighting the empire is more or less a way to make amends for his mistakes and redeem the original purpose behind the CIS

Also. Does he have the accent?
I read his threads with the accent.

Apologies for not getting to your ship sooner. If I'd gotten to it earlier, I might have been able to add some modifications or such!

Ah! It's allright, I know what odd schedule can do. It's a shame we did not interact more though!

Bowze's defining moment from the past?
Highlight of the game?
Moment of despair (other than anything with Yusandr, let''s not dig that one up)?
Most un-Gunray-ish In character thought?

1. His involvement in the clone wars and finding the truth behind him was pretty much something that always hang over his head. It made him extra paranoid, deeply remorseful and driven not to be used again.
2. The CIS. I really liked playing with those boys and girls. They pretty much made my game and gave me a goal to focus on rather then being passive
3. The rakghoul plague. If it had been brought *slightly* differently I probably would not have had a problem with it but hey, stuff happens.
4. The resistance meeting day 2. Bowze was set to keep as quiet as possible but the genocide force in hands but not in the right way.

I'm just curious as to where his 'general' background came from.

He was a general in the CIS during the clone wars. He was young but fairly talented considering most generals and admiral in that era where...bad. This tainted his view in a lot of way.

Oh hey, we both were radicalized by the attack on the Anzuri!
I really liked the very unique angle on Rebellion -- even as SW media and FFG materials have included more prequel nods, including ex-CIS now-rebels, he really stood out to me for the combination of background, personality, methods, voice.
Bowze (and the CIS) is the character I'm most likely to plagiarize as an NPC, probably to be a gadfly or cantankerous ally for rebel PCs. I'll let you know if I ever do, and how it goes for them!
