Figured I'd post one despite dropping. Curious about people's thoughts.
A Star Wars PbP game set in the years following the fall of the Republic

I've been busy and barely making money for all my trouble! Oh, but part of it is my fault, so, you know...Verse Aura wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 12:00 amEven though we didn't have too much interaction (other than being badasses in that distraction scene together!), I was still sad to see you drop from the game... hope everything's okay in your life at least!
I would've liked to have more interaction with her after that scene, but with the chaos of the game and so much stuff happening, it sadly fell off the radar.
Did Mia ever find a rock so heavy she couldn't throw it?
Haha, that was certainly more of a surface thing. She had a lot of deeper running scars/insecurities that I would have addressed more in the game if I had stuck around. In essence, she is happy-go-lucky naturally, but with so much destruction, she started to question her own approach to life .Xanna Teevou wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 12:03 amI thought Mia was an interesting character. I didn't do a great job with our threads but I enjoyed our interactions. She seemed like a happy-go-lucky Fringer type, so perfect for joining a Rebellion against the Empire
I chop it up to what I said in-character: Mia also grew up around tons of farm births and whatnot. Plus she'd seen it all with her sister causing a fuss. As for posters, I really do like the idea of Captain Chandrila. Unfortunately, I don't think she'd place her entire planet on a crossfire. Maybe she should rewear Captain Alderaan's shield...Astin Denive wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 12:45 amI had fun with Mia, she was one of the few characters Astin could bounce stuff off of without her getting too offended.
She is welcome on the Coyote should she ever finish her recruitment projects... is she going to be put on posters?
My headcanon is that she went to secure the alliances that came to fruition at the end of this game. Give first-hand intel to them so that they could be coordinated when they came to Bankor. From there, she could come back to the Coyote. I wouldn't have a problem with that.Petrus Karath wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 12:57 amI was sorry to see Mia go!
Can you tell us what she's been up to since she left?
I'm not too interested in reprising Mia actually. I didn't like her too much mechanically actually and I had trouble finding her accent. I like her concept as a whole though. And yes, she'd probably go back to her farm once the dust has settled rather than involve herself in politics.Dove Gray wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 1:01 amDove after Mia left:
Thanks for the great connection, and for the fun dynamic of two moms looking after the kid together. It was a fun thing I hadn't tried before with you guys, and I love thinking of new dynamics and ways we can play together that doesn't always end up the same way.
Is Mia a character you'd like to revisit at some point? Would Mia want to settle down somewhere after the Empire is defeated?
Conceptually, she was kind of like a Captain America who wasn't scrawny but never gets super powers. I could have gave her a big gun but eh, I never had the chance to.Fathynyu Kurrek wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 1:30 amI really enjoyed the character/concept of Mia. One doesn't need super special powers to be a badass fighting the good fight.
I sympathize with the difficulty of brawn concepts in this system, there are a couple niche ways to make it work (lightsabers, marauder, martial artist shenanigans) but if you're just brawn 3 it's brutal as you have to run into heavy fire to fight people who do far more damage than you with their big 'ole guns.
I saw a bit of Jyn Erso in her. Farm girl but a little less reluctant than Jyn's initial arc. Otherwise, her random goofiness was sometimes a bit Han Solo. Probably all the Corellian stuff!Sinnya wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 3:04 amMia succeeded in helping inspire Sinnya to greater Resistence-y bravery, for sure! I was sorry I didn't have more time so I could've done more threads with her as Sinn slowly made her way from timid civilian to proper Rebel.
I know Captain America (and Captain Alderaan ) were overt inspirations, but if you had to pick one or two (or more!) canon SW characters Mia was closest to, who might they be?
