[Day 5 - MA] Allies and Shadows

[Dove Gray]

"Woah, woah, calm down. I can't just walk in and out of that placy willy-nilly." Damnit, Mia, must everyone know I'm a spy in the enemy's camp? Dove sighed deeply.

"Ok..." she took another deep breath, "I have some intel on the ship's layout. And I do have a mission going on at the moment that could bring me up there, under the right circumstances." Now she was looking thoughtful. "Possibly with a small group, but that's going to be incredibly dangerous, and we might all die."

Kriff, *I* might die if I have to keep this up much more.

[Dapper Dog]

Through it all, Ru'ni had been silent, he was not one to weigh in without thought. Now he rose and walked slowly towards the hooded figure.

"Excuse me," he spoke in a calm measured voice. "Everyone here is known or vouched for by someone so far. Everyone except you. I would know each soul to whom I am trusting the fate of my people."

His back to the bickering and posturing the figure spoke in a calm voice, “I believe in the cause and the people of Bankor, and this is the first step of many to get there. I am curious to see what comes of this, if my presence troubles you then I can go.”

Dak nodded but made a mental note certainly need to talk to Dove about that later. "you know if you're going up there I'm going with you."

[Mianerra Tavvos]

Mia and the devil over her shoulder hadn't thought of any sort of secrets after how open everyone had been before. Seemed like there were no consequences for saying anything on their minds.

Last time she had at least kept her Imperial liaison's identity secret!

"Just need some codes, maybe plant something," Mia said with a shrug, "Then we can transmit a message."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"The Aznuri, and indeed this 'rebellion' people speak of need all the allies we can get. But my people have been betrayed once, I will not permit it again." He glances around the room to see if anyone else is concerned about this one's presence.

"I am Ru'ni Wayne, the walker between worlds, speaker for the Orosini in this. You have heard much here already, enough that would give me pause in letting you leave. I would hear a name from you. Is that too much to ask?"

[Astin Denive]

AStin scratched at his chin an amused look on his face. "Here I was thinking we were still on the part of this conversation where we figured out if we were going to work together, and trust all these mysterious benefactors that people have mentioned."

"I mean I suppose if we can get on the vessel and like jettison the likely thousands of people on board into space we could take her over. But you can likely count me out of that one."

[Oraka Hin]

The old man nodded and then said, “I am Oraka Hin of the Jedi Order, a defender of the Galactic Republic and a fellow brother in the fight against the Empire. Our greatest strength is not discord but our acceptance that we need each other, who leads… the logistics, those are tertiary to one thing this Rebellion will need.”

“Hope.”

“We are the first embers of that Hope, Ru’ni Wayne of the Orosini. There are few of us, Jedi, but we have not forgotten our duty to the Republic,” he finished.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"My people tell tales of the historic Jedi." Ru'ni replies, crossing his arms to opposite shoulders and offering a shallow bow. "I doubt anyone not of such a group would claim membership to it in this climate. Your people have been allies of mine in the past. I honor that friendship past, and hope to continue it into the future."

"We will return the favour you did us. For us, for the Jedi, for the Republic."

[Djanik]

Jedi.

They were half the reason the Republic had become what it was now.

Force users, mad with power.

Still, maybe they could clean up their mess.

Djanik just waited to what fools errand they decided on, before trying to determine how, if at all, he could salvage it.

[Petrus Karath]

"Master..." Petrus said softly. He bowed his head, hands clenching at his side. He knew just how much of a risk Oraka was taking to be here, to announce his name to everyone. If the wrong person heard, or even if a desperate ally was tempted, it could mean his end. And yet, he took the chance, to bring hope to the others.

Could Petrus do any less? Taking a deep breath, he moved to stand next to his master.

"Hello! Petrus here." He waved to the group awkwardly. "I just wanted to say that I stand by Master Hin. We've got a lot of good people here. And I think everyone here has lost something. Or someone." He took a deep breath. "So, if we can help by standing up, together, well, I'm there. Let's let these allies know that we're all with them.

A pause.

Petrus winced. "Oh, and I'm a Jedi too. In case that wasn't clear."

[Fathynyu Kurrek]

Snip

Loud folksy gasp from the back of the crowd.

Then
"Oh hi Petrus! Congrats on coming out! I support you and your Jedi identity!"

[Djanik]

That brought a laugh for Djanik, and he just shrugged helplessly. Sitting at the base of a tree.

If he was going to hang, at least he'd hang with amusing company.

[Astin Denive]

A jedi huh? Astin wasn't sure he agreed with the orders stance on girls not kissing boys, or well anyone for that matter. Seemed unnatural to him.

"Hope huh, sounds good to me Mister Hin."

There waa a momentary pause. "I do have to ask how we get some of that though, because as we sit here planning another suicide mission. Things seem pretty damn hopeless."

Followed up Astin glanced at Floats. "You kinda make me think he just came out gay when you say it like that, Floats."

[Oraka Hin]

The old man responded carefully to Astin, “If we are planning a mission it is because we have hope that it will make a difference. If we think every fight will be without pain then we are deluding ourselves. What we are doing now is for others, we are fighting because others can’t or won’t but our actions can inspire others.”

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak didnt know Hin directly but he nodded in the media's direction regardless "Its good to have you here Master Hin, I served with some of your order during the war and I'd be proud to do it again."

Petrus' announcement didnt quite take Dak by much surprise, the kid had a similar vibe to him that a lot of the others did. Float's outburst drew a chuckle from the Cathar. She seemed like good people.

In response to Astin's question Dak turned to him "We provide the hope, we hope that our efforts will lead to a better Bankor. We've pulled off what many thought was impossible together and we can do it again. We trust in each other" he looked to Djanik "even those we may have disagreements with. all we have in this fight is eachother, That's where we draw hope from."

[Verse Aura]

Verse took up a position by Oraka and Petrus. Half of these people already knew what she was anyway, but it was good to show there were a good number of them here. The better to inspire the hope that Master Hin was speaking of.

[Dapper Dog]

Yusandr chimed in, “The Force is with us.”

“Jurdak has it right, that’s it, we trust in each other and we fight. Not all of us are gonna get to the Finish line, but if you joined this fight expecting a reward, well good luck with that. Rayne, Senator, reach out to your people, we’ll make this work,” she said confidently.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

Mia put her hands in her coat, though less out of anxiousness but more contentment. This time, she was going to claim credit. "I taught you that," she murmured to Petrus before smirking at him.

[Astin Denive]

Astin glanced to Dak. "A better Bankor? Alright we'll go with that. Heck I'll even join in on the mission, hopefully i'll die along the way too."

"That way I wont have to see it when the empire returns, smashes the ship we don't even have the crew to run and declares marshal law on the planet. They'll likely burn the Sky Tree Sea to the ground while they are at. Best way to get rid of the undesirable inside it."

He stood up and waved before moving to the speeder. "Call me when you need me."

/exiting unless given reason to stay.

[Xanna Teevou]

Xanna looked over at the departing moustache, walking over to stand beside Petrus and Oraka.

"That is where I would hope the promised Mon Calamari ships and the efforts of the diplomats come in. But do not let such things get in the way of your dramatic departure Astin."

She turned to the senator and Rayne. "So? You say we can get ships. If we can take the Dictator, and hold it until they arrive, can your alliance of senators keep the Emperor from reprisals? Put Bankor under the protection of Alderaan, or something like this?"

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak frowned he hadn't taken Astin for such a pessimist. Hed probably call it realism though.

[Djanik]

Djanik snorted. "If you think we can take and hold the planet, I can puncture that bubble now."

Standing, he dusted himself off. "Dramatic though that statement was, it wasn't wrong. It's premature to think we are going to beat the Empire head on. We need time, preparations, training, and a lot more than hope." Arching one eyebrow, he added, "That doesn't mean we sit around and do nothing - but we should expect this not to be a war fought on equal footing. We'd be wise to plan to fight a mobile war - to draw the war away from the civilian populace. Not directly onto it."

With a faint shrug, he added, "But what do I know, I've only spent three years inside that war machine - seeing how it operates first hand."

[Dove Gray]

Dove was fine with letting someone like Xanna handle the diplomatic thinking. Especially since it seemed like she had something in the works. So she nodded approvingly to the blue girl.

"We have some different avenues to try. But we can't spend too much time dwelling on it, as the Imps have already singled out some targets among us, I'm sorry to report. But we might be able to use it to our advantage."

[Xanna Teevou]

Very calmly she fixed her gaze on the other Pantoran. "My apologies, I did not realise you were also a senator in your long and distinguished career Djanik? Of course we do not hold the planet with force. We hold the planet with diplomacy. Which is why we are asking the senator if this is still possible. From what I have been hearing it seems that it is." She looked at Rayne. "So, does the Emperor now hold total power, or can he still be blocked in the senate?"

She gave Dove a nod of thanks for her comments. "Ideally we would have much more time to prepare. In the absence of time it is good to have some options."
