Learning more about the Sixth (D8 MM)

Now that the trials were over, and Qareme was now a Knight, that meant she would be able to learn something more about the Sixth. She wasn't one for computers though, and preferred libraries....but a computer would do failing that.

"Master Surro, good morning" she added as she sat at the computer, knowing the Jedi master would be very close by "I hope the trials were as you expected."

[Jedi Master Surro]

"You did what you needed to, Qareme, and we are proud to have you as a Knight of the Order," she responded.

[Qareme Torth]

"Thank you. I am glad."

Qareme paused, realizing it would just be easier to ask, and turned to the hologram master.

"Would there be an option now to learn more about the Sixth?"

[Jedi Master Surro]

“It could be possible you would need more time as a Jedi Knight so we can better observe your progress. The Sixth Line is a demanding path, it is not for all Jedi,” she said honestly.

“The Sixth Line, there is no contemplation, there is Duty is a meaningful change to the Jedi Code; it means that we put our Duty to the Republic above all other concerns of the Jedi. Which means we are called to engage in acts that many Jedi would have issues doing or even considering.”

“Assassination of Republic enemies, working deep undercover with the enemy, or even foregoing possible redemption of our enemies for what is best for the continued existence of the Republic.”

“Unlike the Shadows who came before we do not simply focus on the underbelly of society but the enemies that would destroy the Republic, or the Resistance in this happenstance.”

There were many things Qareme had considered. The first thing being assassination however was beyond any expectation.

"I see."

She paused, thinking about what to say. It was a lot to consider.

"Are there...records here of the missions performed?"

[Jedi Master Surro]

"Yes, though I am not sure you are ready for the knowledge," she responded.

[Qareme Torth]

"Why do you say that Master Surro?" Qareme looked curious

[Jedi Master Surro]

"You have just begun your path as a Jedi Knight, we like to observe potentials for some time before we begin the process of initiation," she offered.

[Qareme Torth]

There was a nod.

"I understand. I have only just begun as you said. However, it is not for the sake of joining that I wish to learn more. The Sixth are an unknown in these times, not even Master Hin knew of them. I wish to understand their purpose, their actions. It is a part of the Jedi history that I do not wish to be lost, as the Jedi have lost so much already."

[Jedi Master Surro]

"I will try and share what I can, as this situation is... unique," she admitted.

[Qareme Torth]

"Thank you Master Surro."

Qareme looked thoughtful.

"Did you go on these missions, Master?"

[Jedi Master Surro]

"I did, I would not ask anyone to do something I would not," she replied.

[Qareme Torth]

"Would you share some of them with me? If it is something private and you wish to move somewhere else that would be acceptable" Qareme looked to Surro.

[Jedi Master Surro]

“When I first became a Master I was sent on a vital mission to the planet of Ziost, during my time it was a world controlled by the Sith Empire under the thumb of a powerful Sith Lord considered immortal. It was a mission to prove the concept of the Sixth Line, and thus perhaps the first mission of our Order,” she replied.

Sith Empire?

"What happened during the mission? Were you there to spy, or...kill?"

Qareme had moved into a side room so they weren't just talking in a hallway. She wasn't sure this topic was one they wanted being overheard easily.

[Jedi Master Surro]

“It was an undercover mission, not even the Jedi I was working with was aware that I was a Jedi or even there. I posed as a simple office worker in a world controlled by the most insidious enemy the Republic had ever known. It was mostly a dull mission until the Emperor at the time proposed a contest for his Sith and then things got very interesting very quickly,” she said explaining the story.

“It would prove to be a harrowing experience and would impress upon me the power of the Dark Side.”

[Qareme Torth]

"A contest? I cannot imagine what those so steeped in the Dark Side would consider a contest. A contest of strength? Of blood?" Qareme frowned "what did you learn from it?"

[Jedi Master Surro]

"That they revel in brutality," she said flatly.
