[Day 7 EE - intel training room] Purpose Anew

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus listened, his expression sobering. "What happened?" He asked gently.

He spread his hands. "I get it if you don't wanna talk about it. But..." Petrus shrugged. "Sometimes I like to talk about things from my past. Sometimes I don't. I dunno."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak waved dismissively again "I dont need to bore you with my sob story Petrus. Let's just say I got a very personal lesson on how the empire handles dissent."

He took a deep breath "That's why most of us are here though yeah? Because the Empire took everything from us."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus nodded. "I gotcha. Sure, that's fine."

He frowned, considering. "Yeah, something like that. The Empire took everything. But also, it doesn't stop. If no one stands up to it, it'll keep taking more and more." He sighed. "That's how I got into this. A captain was picking on a young girl, I was scared, but someone else stood up..." He smiled, shaking his head. "Sometimes that's all it takes. Someone standing up."

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak nodded "Brave thing to do for someone in your position. I mean brave for anyone but you being what you are, you were putting a lot more on the line."

He smiled "you're right though, usually just one person standing up for what's right can inspire others to do the same."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus hesitated a moment. "Maybe. But I'm gonna go ahead and say that anyone that stands up in the face of this kind of oppression is a hero. We've seen what they do to anyone who opposes them. Or even just people, who weren't trying to oppose them at all."

He took a deep breath. "Well. I should leave you to it, huh? I still haven't found Dove yet..." He smiled, holding out his hand. "See you around, huh Dak?"

[Jurdak Surt]

Dak stood and took his hand giving it a firm shake "Sure thing Petrus. Good luck on your hunt and hey you gotta show me that Warrior's Heart thing sometime. You got me interested but I never got a chance to pick up something to watch it on."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus grinned at that. "Sure thing, Dak. I mean, fair warning, it's pretty stupid, I'll be the first one to admit it. But hey, we all need a bit of stupid from time to time, right?"

[Jurdak Surt]

"Exactly, cant be all serious all the time. A bit of stupid is a nice break." He said with a chuckle.

"Stay safe out there Petrus, things are gonna get crazy soon."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus' expression grew more serious. "I will. And you too, Dak."

With one last nod, he left.
