[Day 9 - LN] Party like there is no Tomorrow

[Dapper Dog]

She agreed and made her way to her friend and joined the hug pile quietly.

[Dove Gray]

"You gave a lot and then some more today," she said, sitting down in the chair next to Dove, looking at her with a soft smile. Shifting off something she was carrying onto the table, it didn't matter right now. Crossing one leg over the other, a arm on the table, she glanced around quick before looking back to Dove, "Taking a bit of a break, figure.. I can keep you some company, keep you from drifting off, or.. let you drift off and bat away anyone that comes to disturb you."

She chuckled quietly, smirking with humour, as her eyes still remained close. "I briefly considered pretending to be dead," Dove joked, her voice soft and low, a stark contrast to their setting.

"But, well, someone had to do it, no? It wasn't particularly heroic, not like those who faced Vader, but hey... someone had to do it. Better me than someone else."

Had she been someone else, Dove would've said she needed a vacation, or that she was done with this for a long time. But for her, it would be back to business as soon as possible. There was still much unresolved about today that she'd have to bring to Yusandr, but... it could wait. For a couple of hours, it could wait. Let people enjoy the moment and the victory against insurmountable odds.

"How are you feeling though?" she asked the girl.

[Xanna Teevou]

She finally said after much silence, “Thank you, it’s what he wanted. He… my dad, he said that we all owe something to each other.”

“I asked him about death once…” she said pulling back wiping a tear away as she continued, “he pointed at the lake and said, that the waves that come to shore they are just one way for the water to be they have a long journey and then reach the shore and the wave is gone but the water remains and returns from whence it came to.”

“He said it better than I could but,” she smiled weakly as Veras collected herself. “Yeah… kriff, this sucks.”

She nodded and returned the smile. "Yes, it does, but we will honour his memory and take his lessons to heart. Oraka Hin kept the hope of the Jedi order alive, and I think he will keep guiding us."

Holding Veras' hand she looked at the group that were assembled. Petrus, Liua, Djanik, maybe Sloan was here too. "We are family Veras. If you would like it, there will always be a cabin for you on the Warrior's Heart."

[Zerras Blume]

Zerras stood nearby listening, not wanting to interupt.

[Djanik]

She nodded and returned the smile. "Yes, it does, but we will honour his memory and take his lessons to heart. Oraka Hin kept the hope of the Jedi order alive, and I think he will keep guiding us."

Holding Veras' hand she looked at the group that were assembled. Petrus, Liua, Djanik, maybe Sloan was here too. "We are family Veras. If you would like it, there will always be a cabin for you on the Warrior's Heart."

Djanik felt a pang of sorrow for Veras... and rested a hand on her shoulder, offering what solidarity he could.

"And you'll always be a wolf, you have a family of tw... ten, who will be there for you, through thick and thin."

Glancing around the room, he spotted Delia, and had a moment of panic... and then he saw Juri.

Hmmmm....

[Dapper Dog]

The young Pantoran said quietly, "Thank you, I am glad to have you all here."

[Zerras Blume]

"Excuse me. I'm sorry. Are you the pilots that flew beside the New Hope?" She finally spoke up.

[Djanik]

"Ay, we're Wolf Squadron, just like Elaranu."

He glanced at Veras. "I'm wolf leader, and she's Wolf-2, the hotshot that blew all those TIEs off your tail." He gave her an encouraging little tap of a punch - she had done good.

[Zerras Blume]

"I was Elaranu's gunner." she smiled. "I wanted to thank you both, for keeping us safe."

[Djanik]

Djanik chuckled, "I feel a bit guilty, I let Elaranu's ship get a bit busted up out there, but I'm glad you made it home safe."

[Jenna Karath]

"How are you feeling though?" she asked the girl.

"I'm doing alright," she said, not totally convinced herself, "I have my brother here, Xanna, my family went off into that fight and then they all came home. I'm.. relieved, beyond being able to explain just how relieved I am. Don't have much to be afraid of right now, tonight. No need to keep on my toes, can relax, it's.." she shrugged, "I don't really know what to do with how nice that feels?"

"But.." she glanced back to Dove, having drifted her attention around, "you might not have faced down something like this.. Vader, but you.. you don't stop. You never stop, I've seen it today. Seen it before, I guess, when you were with the Inquisitor. You risk everything you have, constantly, for.. others. Everyone here can say that last bit tonight, everyone can claim they're a hero tonight, but you.. you just keep on doing it. You seem to roll that dice every chance you get. That's, I know you now better than I ever have, Dove. I've got you figured," she said with a smirk.

[Zerras Blume]

Djanik chuckled, "I feel a bit guilty, I let Elaranu's ship get a bit busted up out there, but I'm glad you made it home safe."

She shook her head. "You did what was necessary and the New Hope made it back to base. That allowed me to join the others boarding the Dictator. Without Wolf Squadron, everything might have been lost."

"Sheesh," she chuckled, opening her eyes as she shifted to a more upright position in the chair, "you might ruin my air of mystery, with that cleverness of yours. But, go on - I'm curious now."

Dove felt tired, even if she was already recovering somewhat from everything that had happened over the course of the night. Since the attack started, it had been a non-stop action ride.

"Do tell me what it is you've figured out about me."

Jenna paused, gave it some hard thought on how to tackle the answer, "You care," she finally said, "and not just in a common sense, but you really care at the end of the day if you leave this galaxy in a better place than you found it. Whatever your reasons, you do, and you're willing to sacrifice yourself to do it. Kinda defines the hero, a bit," she smirked, "at least, those are the basic qualities of one after all?" she smiled, shrugged a little, "Whatever you did before, whatever you were before, doesn't matter too much if you're a hero now, huh?"

There was a small smile at that, because for Jenna.. maybe that meant she could do also something more for herself. Live better, move on, become something greater than she was. If Dove was able to do that, she could too, right?

[Juri Saizesh]

"She had a wound in her heart, it is good you could give her peace in the end," she said calmly.

"I think I will be leaving soon, Bankor has nothing left for me."

"I... think I will, too. This Resistance will need my help, but I also have to build my coven. A new tradition." She nodded to Delia. "Any place in particular you're off to? I'd like to stay in contact. Even if it is some time between tea sessions." Juri beamed at Delia.

Sacha got up when she saw Juri, but didn't interrupt her conversation. She simply stepped up next to her, leaning on whatever was convenient as she spoke with her... friend? She presumed she was a friend.

Feeling the presence of the Mandalorian, the Witch leaned against her, feeling quite content. A knowing smile to her, while keeping her conversation with Delia.

[Sacha Ordo]

Along Jurdak's wanderings he came across a mostly familiar group in Sacha, Venator, and Juri. Dak decided this was as good a place as any to post up and just relax with a drink. Besides walking was getting hard as the painkillers were wearing off but self medication was a hell of a thing.

Sacha waved with one hand. "Hey, Dak. How's the injury doing?"

Feeling the presence of the Mandalorian, the Witch leaned against her, feeling quite content. A knowing smile to her, while keeping her conversation with Delia.

Feeling the lean, Sacha rested an arm unobtrusively around her waist as she spoke with Jurdak and Venator.

Dove paused, and there was no immediate reply or laughter. She had never felt like one deserving of the title of hero... a hero was... someone people could look up to, admire, aspire to emulate. She was just... doing her job, and sometimes that job was murder, or sabotage, or deception. Or all three, or more.

Her head turned as she looked to the people gathered. "... I'm not a hero, Jennah, but... thank you." It was awkward, as she had never sought praise or gratitude for what she did.

"I think I'll leave the hero-title to those who will stand in the spotlight, be a beacon of hope. Stuff like that. Me, I think I'll do better away from the light; continue my work in the shadows. And if we're going to continue this fight, away from Bankor, well... I think I'll need more people along. People who can tell right from wrong." Dove turned to look back at Jennah as she spoke. "Dredgen Huk is probably some of the best Black Ops folks out there today, but he doesn't know right from wrong. He's not the kind of guy I want by my side in this fight, in this Resistance."

Not just for chasing the next paycheck to keep me alive. So, still, you might not think of yourself as a hero but at least, I guess, I still think you deserve the praise of one. Won't force you up on a pedestal anytime soon but.. I won't forget, at least, you deserve just as much as the others we are celebrating here tonight. Maybe even more."

"I'm not sure I've got it in me, to sacrifice anywhere near like you do," glancing back toward the party she focused on Petrus, Xanna, and then back to Dove. "Got people I need to stay by, people I've.. fought, fought really hard for."

Delia said, "That would be fine, and I wish your new coven better luck and a bright future."

"Every act mattered." she nodded. "It came so close to everything falling apart. Without what Oraka did, the others and I would not have survived against Vader."

"Yea," she smiled, accepting the touch of comfort. "Uh, guess I just keep seeing amazing people like you and my brother always so willing to sacrifice yourselves it makes me feel a bit.." she shrugged, "well, it makes me feel that because I've started facing problems instead of always running away that I made a step in the right direction."

"It's not a farm on some Idyllic countryside but flying around the Galaxy with my brother and his new Jedi girlfriend is," she smiled, looked over toward them, "it's good enough."

[Dove Gray]

Dove gave Jennah's hand a reassuring squeeze. "And there's plenty you can do beside them, to help them out, support them in what they're going to do. Petrus and Xanna are both Knights now, and they're both clever and capable, but you can do things they cannot."

"I'm not saying you have to give up him, or anyone else, to continue doing the Resistance's work. We'll have need of eyes and ears everywhere across the galaxy, and you got potential, Jennah," the woman spoke with confidence, and some pride in Jennah's talents. "And most importantly, you know what's worth fighting for."

[Venator Praedae]

"He's the Emperor's enforcer and right hand man," she explained. "And about as scary as you'd expect for that."

"Dak, Dove, and Ru'ni Wayne were on my team. A bunch of the Jedi were on the other. I didn't know all of them, but everyone survived."

Venator nods. "Glad we were able to give dem Imps a good shin kick'n."

He tips his helmet to Jurdat and Juri. "Howdy pardner. Even'n darl'n."
