“The Chaldi would know they are very much keepers of the old ways, but they are also slow to trust. I am not Chaldi though my family has roots there. They would have what you seek and may even meet with you. Who can say, but they are the keepers of such things,” she honestly.


“I learned of such things from the elders and keepers of tales, we keep stories and pass them down, some in word others by story, but we remember.”

[Verse Aura]

"Well," she turned to Vaya, "I take it you intend to go no matter what? I will accompany you if it's possible."

Vaya found her earlier polite smile widening to something more genuine, caught off guard by Verse's attitude. Trusting her, willingness to go off and do whatever-this-was... "Yeah? Yeah! As the Force wills it, right?" she said, the phrase coming off her tongue without irony for maybe the first time.

To Viati, she continued, "Is there anything else you can tell us about the Chaldi? Like where to find them? Or is there anyone else we can talk to?"

[Dapper Dog]

“The Chaldi live in the Sky-Trees but make their homes on the cliffsides on the edges of the great forests. They rarely leave their homes, we have none here who came from the Chaldi. Best if you can ride swoop wing but ship may work,” she offered.

“Be respectful the Chaldi are easily insulted.”

[Verse Aura]

"Hopefully we won't need to apologize to much," she said. "I have to do that a lot somehow."

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

"Stick with me, kid, I'll teach you all about cultural sensitivity," Vaya shot back, and then immediatley got self conscious about calling Verse a 'kid.'

[Verse Aura]

"Hmm, okay." Verse was pretty sure Vaya's enthusiasm had almost caused offense with not one but two of the important Aznuri, in as many days, but if she was so confident that she could teach Verse about cultural sensitivy, she figured the woman must know a thing or two.

"So, cliffs, forest. What's a swoop wing? Some kind of flying reptomammal?"

Ooc: Do we have enough to go on in terms of location? I don't want to force you to make up too much geography , but I'm imagining trying to find a place in a real world continent with that much detail.

Viati smiles, "Swoopwings are swoopwings, they like to eat fish and are very swift."

"Well, we don't have a ship... and... I wouldn't even know where to get a swoop-wing much less ride one."

Vaya scratched her head next to an antennapalp, staring off thoughtfully. "I don't have a ship. I know where I can rent a speeder. And I know some very unsavory people who would let me go into debt up to my kneecaps for a ship." She shrugged. "I'm a pretty good rider. How do we find domesticated swoopwings?"

[Dapper Dog]

"They do not have them here in Rygor, maybe Chaldi will give to you?" she said a bit confused.

[Vaya Mer'darrow]

"Oh, I'm sorry," said Vaya. "I thought we needed the swoop wings to get there." She cocks her head. "But just in general, riding is the best way to get around in that area? Or, are the Chaldi are impressed by good riders?"

ooc: I could make a post in the GM request thread if you like, but Vaya is on fire to chase this lead ASAP, as early as tomorrow. Is that feasible? Rent a speeder? Or do we actually need to find someone with a ship? I don't think I have any urgent questions for Viati that need to be asked IC, as opposed to being about logistics of the trip.

Also, can I make a knowledge check (Xenology?) about the Chaldi, esp. how to make friends? Doesn't have to be mid-conversation, I could do a "libarary trip" in my PF like last time.
