[Qareme Torth]

"Neela? I have not heard that name before, but if Master Oraka knows her and called her by this name I have no reason to disbelieve it. She seemed aware of Jedi...lets call it tactics, or tricks by her words, so I can believe she may once have been a Jedi."

There was a sigh.

"I believe she could be once again, but the way back to the light is difficult when you allow fear to guide your actions as she does."

[Verse Aura]

"She didn't seem very afraid to me, but I guess you're talking about a different kind of fear."

[Qareme Torth]

"We are Jedi, she does not fear the Jedi. She fears the ones that control her; Darth Vader, and the Emperor" Qareme explained with a nod.

[Verse Aura]

"I don't know much about them, to be honest. Other than they're obviously really evil and really devious to have managed to do to the Republic and Jedi what they did. I guess maybe they might be really good at turning Jedi to the Dark Side too."

[Qareme Torth]

"When you think what has happened to the Jedi order at their hands, one can understand being afraid of them. All they need to do is learn your weaknesses and use it against you. Even Jedi can feel emotions" Qareme closed her eyes "I am thankful for the timing of the rescue, as I believe Neela had begun to start testing for mine."

[Verse Aura]

"I feel emotions all the time," she said. "I don't think the code forbids it unless you're taking it literally."

That was what she felt, at least, even if she couldn't put precisely put into words *why*.

"Were you afraid she might've found your weakness if she'd had the time?"

[Qareme Torth]

There was a nod at the question.

"The last thing she had arranged..or done herself, I am not certain, was to torture every other prisoner in confinement because of my attempted escape. That so many had suffered from my error pains me even now. I believe she was aware that torturing me would do little, so she started on others."

[Verse Aura]

"That's a pretty terrible thing for her to do, but if you blame yourself for it even now... that's like letting her win. She probably would've tortured them regardless."

[Qareme Torth]

"I agree, and it is simpler now to look back on it in such a light. It was less simple at the time, which was the intent."

Qareme let out a breath.

"I am thankful that the prison has been destroyed. It was a horrible place."

[Verse Aura]

"I think that's the key, not making things more complicated than they are. Once you start thinking about stuff too hard, then you start doubting, and that's how the Dark side gets you."

She paused for a moment.

"That's my secret, Qareme, I'm always not thinking."

[Qareme Torth]

That comment caught Qareme out, and she frowned.

"I am uncertain of how to reply to that. However, perhaps that is why we work well together. We compliment each other well, as our flaws are covered by the other. There is certainly merit to not thinking."

[Verse Aura]

"Oh, I know it's not always smart to not think. But I mean think about it. Thinking about it is what made you worry the Sith could turn you, and that worry is what made the Sith think they could succeed. If instead you didn't think about it, and just thought that you were the Light and didn't think about anything else, then there'd have been nothing to worry about..."

She looked up at the ceiling, as if she was mentally checking to see she got it correct.

"...I think?"

[Qareme Torth]

Qareme laughed.

"You are a simple soul, Verse. Please do not change that. I will take your sage advice to heart and remember it in a moment of crisis. Thank you for listening to my concerns, it has lifted a weight off my shoulders."

[Verse Aura]

"I'm not simple, I have very complex thoughts you know. Except when I don't."

It was hard to tell if she was joking, or entirely serious.

"But I'm glad to have helped."

[Qareme Torth]

"Sure you do" Qareme commented in her emotionless tone, as always difficult to tell if she was serious or not.

"I intend to take some time to practice with the saber again. I would expect you to also join me, if you are willing."

[Verse Aura]

"Of course, I'm always up for practicing my Ataru some more. Though maybe I should just go back to Shii-cho, start with the basics again."

[Qareme Torth]

"Good. I believe you are more skilled in these, so it will be of benefit to work with you on improvements" Qareme lowered her head "thank you, friend."
