That earned Dove a playful nudge in the side as he walked by her. "See cooking is already a bit funner then you thought it would be. Plus it can always shift a lady that's a bit on the fence off of it and onto other things." He finished with a playful wink.

Placing a heavy bottomed pan on the burner he turned on the heat. "First off we start by heating the pan, while tha5s happening though we make our preparations." He explained as he set out a wide bowl and added flour, salt, pepper, and a some chili powder. "Thars the best time to prep the batter we coat the fish in."

She eyed the process warily. "This seems like a very messy process." But there weren't any fires yet. "How hot do we want the pan...?"

The sound of a commlink's beep caught her attention and she glanced to Astin. "You got mail?"

"Pretty hot." Astin said somewhat vaguely. "We'll add the oil as soon as he see some wisps of smoke coming from the pan."

"First off though we mix all this flour and seasoning together, and coat the fish." That's when the lesson was interrupted by a distinctive ringing. "Seems I do." He murmured, silently cursing the damn thing as he reached for his comm.

"It's from Ru'ni." Astin offered reading it, then passing the comm towards Dove so she could do the same.

Dove kept a close eye on the pan, watching for any potential fires, and read the message at the same time. Which meant a lot of shifting her sight back and forth.

"Well, I guess he's still alive then." He used the nickname Pecs, which wasn't something she expected the Imps to have picked up, so to her it didn't register as a trap. "Do be careful though. The Imps might be doing sweeps there too."

She did wonder what Ru'ni wanted to speak with Astin about. "And keep me updated on what's going on, unless it's some super-secret guy talk, or something." She did have respect for her crew's personal life, after all.

Astin wasn't paying near as much attention as Dove to the process, seemingly not nearly as concerned with fires as his counterpart. Fetching a few paper towels he passed them to Dove after pushing his comm back into his pocket. "We'll need to pat the filets dry, don't want too much moisture on the fish."

"But yeah, glad to hear he is alive and not captured. Still I'll do like you said and keep aceye out when I go and meet him. " He smirked slightly.

"Pretty sure we won't be having any super secret guy talks, not even the one about the importance of breasts to this rebellion. So I'll let you know what I can when I get back."

"Pat dry... ok." How dry did fish need to be anyway?

"Wait... importance of breasts to the rebellion?" Dove looked over at him with an amused expression. "This I need to hear."

[Astin Denive]

Checking the pan he say a thin line of smoke wafting from it, and he nodded his head towards it. "That's what we're looking for, now is the time to add the oil to it, not too much though. Just a thin layer is all we need." He mentioned to the container of cooking oil nearby letting her add it to the pan.

"Well, that's a bit of a long conversation, but I suppose I can go over the main points. You ever notice how in a lot of species the females have breasts? Like maybe even most of them?"

"Thin layer. Ok." Thin layer like a paper, or like a thin layer of clothing...? Like see-through clothing? She was being overly cautious in the first pour, so there wasn't much there. Trying to correct her error, it was a little bit too much.

"Huh. I guess I never really thought about it, to be honest. But I guess I wonder why some of them have breasts when they lay eggs rather than giving birth to live youngs..."

"That's a bit too much, but it will be alright." Astin said with a smile. "You want it just a tad thicker then silk panties." Turning to the fish he started to coat one with the four mixture. "Next you take the filet and coat it in our mixture here, shaking off any extra. You just want enough on their to give it a crunchy texture without absorbing too much of the oil." He stepped to the side. "You try."

"Exactly my point." Astin said with a nod. "It don't make a lot of sense, unless ya figure the force has something to do with it. It's supposed to connect all of us together, right?"

Dove coughed as the laugh caught her suddenly. "I... are you saying that the Force is manifested in breasts?"

[Astin Denive]

"Well, not exactly. Though it could be. At the very least it might really like em. I mean why else would they be on so many species?"

He grinned. "And if that's the case the more breasts we have on our side, the more likely the force will be with us."

[Dove Gray]

"Sheesh, I can't argue with that logic." Dove laughed. "I think I'll have to wear my best push-up then for the good of the Resistance then."

She gave her chest a patriotic pat. "May the Force be with us." It was almost the way Yusandr would say it.

That caused him to laugh, and shake his head. "Looks like I'll have something to truly be looking forward to in our coming missions."

He shook his head and echoed Dove. "May the force be with us."

"Why, don't you always look forward to workin' with me, Astin?" she teased and gave him a nudge... with her hip rather than elbow.

"Well, it's a bit hard to concentrate on a mission when you're heads." He tapped his skull. "Not wanting to do the thinking for you."

"You're right though, I shouldn't let such things get in the way of looking forward to going on a mission with ya." Astin finished as he placed the the first filet in the oil.

"I mean I figure if I can manage to not burn this fish with you around. I can do just about anything."

"Suuure you can," she chuckled and took a bit gulp of beer. "I happen to be an expert at distractions, but for the sake of the food, I will not employ such dirty tactics now."

[Astin Denive]

"As tight as your pants are I'm sure you are." He replied returning her playful nudge. "Sometimes I wonder if you have to use lubricant to get em on." He added teasingly.

Adding the second filet he shook his head. "Food before sex though, can't say I can argue with those type of priorities."

[Dove Gray]

"It shall have to remain one of my many mysteries," she wiggled her eyebrows.

"Food always comes before sex, at least for me. But you're mistaken in thinking that's the only distractions I am capable of."

[Astin Denive]

That brought on a chuckle. "A lady need her mysteries like a fella needs his bike."

He shook his head, waiting for the fish to cook and turning it when it was ready. "Oh I'm sure you do, I mean I have a fair amount of my own to employ. That's just the direction my brain was going, well that and lunch."

"Darn right."

Dove watched closely with Astin's procedure in cooking. If she could memorize entire starship layouts, then she could certainly try to remember this.

"So apart from lunch and meeting with Ru'ni, what's your plans for the day?"

[Astin Denive]

"Well, I'll likely go out looking for junk with Floats. Other then that though? I'm pretty open, so might go cruising somewhere get a little time away from all these people." He shrugged.

"May go to that concert later tonight though, even if it reminds me a little bit of one of those school dances."

[Dove Gray]

"Getting away from all these people, huh?" she grinned. "Sounds like you're scared you'll get roped into some crazy mission, alright."

"Though that's not too far off a possibility in the coming days. Yusandr will probably make something official soon, but there's a big thing in the works. Won't hurt to make sure your gear is in tip-top shape."

[Astin Denive]

"Oh, I figure there will be a bunch of people that jump up to volunteer for any crazy missions. Likely as not no one is gonna have to call on me to join in." Of course they might. "Nah, I just like to get some time to myself sometimes, sit outside watch the stars. Maybe cook a little something over the fire."

He smirked, removing the first two pieces of fish from the pan and adding a couple others. "I figured it was about time for something like that, wouldn't of had a meeting this morning for nothing. I'll add it to the list to do a bit of shopping though."

Dove looked at the fish that was removed from the pan, to see how they were supposed to look when done. "Well, I got a maintance kit for my blaster. You're free to use it when I'm not, in case you need to get work done on your gun."

[Astin Denive]

"Might borrow it later tonight then." Those things were a solid investment after all. "After I pick a few things up." Sadly it waa going to really cut into his funds.

He smirked. "Think I spend more time lately working on guns and armor then on speeder bikes. That's a bit of a new one to me."
