Interim #1

The Dictator becomes the new Imperial authority in the region and over the next few weeks the Empire begins cracking down on dissident groups forcing the Scrap King to go to ground and vacate Bone Town which is now controlled by the Empire and much of the Graveyard as well.

The outpost in Jaklu for the Empire grows as well with word that the Jedi was spotted in the region and there have been signs that the Mandalorian Enclave might be in danger of Imperial relocation.

Meanwhile Vandil has been quiet having received her prize after the successful heist on the Vrakul Trident, she has been quiet but word on the street is that she cleaning house for Tididol the Hutt… but there are whispers that a new figure in the Underworld is on the rise, a figure known only as The Disciple and some say they may be tied to the Crimson Dawn, but that would be crazy right?

In the hills of the Jaklu region, the students of the Jedi train and learn as they evade the sweeps and patrols of the Inquisitor. Jaklu is no longer safe for them and the farm house has been abandoned… lost in a terrible fire. Will the Force be with them?

Over the few weeks the Resistance has grown bolder making strategic strikes at Imperial and local officials that are supporting the Empire but they have also suffered losses as Admiral Yulani has proven very effective in curtailing the activities of the grass-roots rebellion. She is ruthless and precise and has a way of swaying the people to her side presenting the Empire as a force to bring them peace and prosperity… the crackdowns shifting from being brutal assaults on the people to focusing their ire against the criminal elements and even having Imperial soldiers working in the communities to help improve conditions in the slums…

Three weeks of changes...

Over the last few weeks, Ru'ni has been absent from the area of Rygor more than he's been present. He returns a couple of times a week, but only stays overnight and each morning he leaves with a few more of the exiles recently displaced after the Imperial obliteration of the Aznuri Enclave.

He is always seen heading out towards Yuvas on foot with his flock, and always returning to Rygor alone, ready to help relocate any more refugees who had seen the way this world worked and wished to return, to their tribes and friends and families, to their people who would welcome them with open arms.

Djanik spent much time in the scrap yards before the Imperials moved in, taking the chance to dig out an old Patrol Boat, and a heap of spare parts.

Then he rented out an abandoned garage in the outskirts of Rygor and spent a lot of time re-assembling the aforementioned ship.

Apart from that, he has largely kept his head down, though he has spent a lot of time keeping tabs on the various groups acting in and around Rygor in opposition to the Imperial presence. Though he is outwardly milquetoast, in secret has had retained ties with groups such as the bone pickers and Resistance cells.

The I in Me is Mine

This is not me.

A secluded spot in the midst of Givaki wilderness hosted many beings. Blue caterpillars, sledgehogs, several aviosupials of varied genera. Tiny yellow-winged insects that had evaded taxonomists so far, at least some of them carriers of pathogens. One toxic pseudoamphibian. A giant asp that knew to avoid the pseudoamphibian but would have no restraints about a sledgehog. A bunch of minuscule, mostly amorphous invertebrates. And many more. Plus one Zabrak intruder.

The intruder was are of his aliendom in this othewise pristine place. He was a blemish on this ecosystem, unwanted, unneeded. The ecosystem had its ways of dealing with those to restore itself to some balance. The bite on the steel skin was one such way. Virus entered the Zabrak's body, challenged his immune system, was on the brink of overcoming it...

This is not my place.

Somehow, he felt it. Not just the bite, but also the microscopic struggle within him. He focused on it, visualised the spiked orb, and called upon his phagocytes. He jockeyed them with his will, coerced them to enter the fray faster, to feast on the virus even if it led to the death of both. And it did.

"This is not mine.

The metal cylinder on the mossy stone before him had been a gift of convenience. It held memories of others, not his. He couldn't access them, he couldn't dismiss them. They were like those obnoxious untaxonomised insects that could infect him. They were meant to be repelled, swathed if they dared infringe on him. If this piece of metal and polymers was to be his, he had to made it his. With determination, he started to break it down. Once he was done with disassembly, he forced himself to try putting it together according to a blurry scheme in his head, over and over again, as if he was solving a 3D puzzle, through trial and error, adding seemingly random components that elongated it for his grip. It was becoming more cumbersome, more unwieldy, less elegant, brutal in outline, savagely adorned with small horn-like spikes along barrel tops not dissimilar from the crown of his own vestigial horns. Rough and meant for violence. The process was long. The star disk advanced in its descent toward the horizon, emboldening predators.

But I can make it mine.

As the chassis clicked in, his instincts flared up, and the lightsabre was meant to flare up in the same instant. It didn't. The emitter ended up in counter-intuitive place, it cost him the precious quarter-second that could have saved him from the asp digging venomous fangs into his arm. The red flame didn't sear it in mid-air.

But I can make such places mine.

But the steel grip of his hand did it, seizing the asp with preternatural reflexes, smashing its spine by the skull with a wet squeeze. His sabre hadn't been ready, but his body was. An imperfect tool in a perfected hand. This was how he wanted it to be. No item, no phenomenon was the source of his growing power. He was.

But I can make myself.

The blood-red flame projected itself finally, from the left of his horizontal grip. Then from the right. A sword-spear worthy of a Zabrak, the natural consequence of his identity being transposed onto the forbidden weapon. It didn't matter that someone before him had done the same. Exar Kun, Darth Bellious, Darth Maul - he knew none of those names except the last one. His path was his own. Hopping on the slippery stone with one leg, scattering redundant pieces of metal with his boot, he entered a frenetic spear routine, interspersed with quick punches and high, powerful kicks. K'thri, Teräs_Käsi, Juyo, and the newest teachings, they were moulding into something new and heretofore unseen, and unforeseen.

And I will.

---

Daunt spent the interim on intensive secret training, both with tutor and alone. He discovered the ways to use the Force to enhance his physical performance, reforged the lightsabre he had been given and learned how to use it with accuracy.

He was also hunting with Sacha Ordo and delivering the meat to Xanna's kitchen soup, helping around the establishment. Meat deliveries became more timely once he secured a speeder.

The first week was full of hope. With the help of the infamous boat-mechanic Floats and others, the crew was able to retrieve the Tython Run's crashed vessel in the water. Damages were minimal enough that all they had to do were a few minor repairs and even those were on the cosmetic level. In her classic sense, Mia made sure that everything was situated on the ship, right where it was 'supposed to be.'

The second week was the first of the dimming. Mia began to look for resources for her fledgling dreams of a widespread revolution. However, her only true area of success was gathering credits for herself, and a paltry amount at that too. And contrary to her initial beliefs, the newcomer Imperials did not oppress them harder. Watching them help, sway some of the masses, was a ploy. But she wondered if her aid was simply a ploy too.

The third week was one without the spark. Her big, lofty, audacious (a word she doesn't even understand) goal was nowhere in sight despite how hard she tried. Mia kept up appearances, because that was what she always had done. Her chores at her and Petrus' apartment were still completed but inside her room began to slip. After all, it wouldn't matter if nobody saw it.

With her place by the Inquisitor's side, Dove has been taking advantage of the perks that comes with it. The Resistance has had good intel from her when the opportunities have been there, such as her utilizing the neural recorder to get glimpses of important documents or layouts of locations.

She has been treading the dangerous balance of assisting the Inquisitor in looking for Oraka Hin, while also attempting to keep him suitably distracted. So far it has worked... but even a genetically engineered spy has her limits.

Dove Gray knows she is playing with fire, and that this time she might get burnt for good. But it is a chance she is taking, as she doesn't believe there will be another chance like this...

Dak for his part spent a lot of time doing what he had been doing, living his life hanging out at the Nerf, meeting up with Daunt and Juri every once in a while since they were neighbors. Having dinner with them now and again was nice.

Somethings had changed though and those close to him would likely notice him being more guarded and vigilant, his eyes checking windows and exits any time he entered a building. His old training was coming back to him as he did some dirty work for Yusandr and the resistance. It felt good to be using his skills for a good cause again but that old paranoia certainly was creeping back in.

He had also been spending some time with new friends like doing some scavenging with Sacha before the imps moved in on the scrap yards. The two even hung out outside of scraping once which was nice he liked her even if she was a mando. Dak had also been spending a good amount of time with Dove seeing her a couple times a week just hanging out, seeing stuff around Rygor, and doing some travel around Bankor when it fit both their busy schedules. He liked her and found their time together to be very relaxing and it recharged him somewhat."

All in all a pretty great couple of weeks

With her brother and friends safely home Jenna could focus on the problems of daily life, the reminder of the Empire ever a present threat in her mind. Following her guts instinct she collected together the money from the job she pulled on the Vrakul Trident and added it to an ever growing pile from personal work and contracts taken as a security adviser. Stowing the money away into a rainy day fund she prepared herself, with friends, for the eventuality that life may ever take a sudden turn and with her little nest egg she would be ready for whatever the Empire would throw at her, and her family, next.

Once she had no one, never again.

Ria'la's report on the Aznuri Enclave crackdown, 'The Razing', certainly got him noticed. A heated discussion with his Editor had resulted in 'taking some time off to recover from the strain of his last assignment'. Although he knows it was the company high ups putting pressure on his Editor to do so the argument has caused a certain tension to descend on Bankor News Broadcasting.

For now that action has put off any Imperial crackdown on the company itself. BNB still broadcasts to the Bankor.

Ria'la himself has fallen into a slight depression and taken to drinking. Considering his light workload this hasn't been a problem yet, but once his reporting picks up again, and the shadow of that Star Destroyer over Rygor means it will eventually, then we'll see if the core of hope in his heart can overcome.

The next three weeks are a busy time for the Jedi Padawans. Through training Xanna can feel her endurance improving, but she also finds that the Force occasionally alerts her to danger, and gives her insights that aid in diplomacy.

When she isn't training, running the kitchen, or spending time with Liua and her other new friends, Xanna gathers the last materials she needs for a special project. Eventually she meets with success and designs herself a set of armoured clothing that passes for a regular jumpsuit.

After discussions with her close friends Xanna pulls in some favours with the local community and is able to find a retiring smuggler with sympathies for the Jedi and the Aznuri. Between them (Xanna, Jenna, Petrus, and Sloan) they gather what resources they can and take possession of her ship, a heavily modified YT-1300 freighter. Sloan picks out the perfect name "Warrior's Heart".

Venator spends the next few weeks collecting scrap from the Shattered Graveyards as much as he can before the Imperial crackdown. He continues tracking down and hunting bounties. It doesn't seem like he really tires of it.
