[Day 2 - EN] The Darkest Hour

No one seems to miss the jawa or the angry nemoidian.

[Astin Denive]

"Huh. You took the words right outta my mouth for that one, Speed Freak." Mia sat back down next to him, lying back and staring at the ceiling. She wasn't so sure about why the prisoner was now in charge, why nobody had chased after the speeder after seeing it. It was all very confusing and something told her it wasn't just her being a bit dim again.

Mia reached into her coat and held out her bottle of whiskey to Astin. "Care for a swig, then?"

"Sure." Astin replied taking the bottle from Mia and taking a sip. He hadn't been sure what the jawa and other guy had been doing here but the jawa at least got a polite nod as he left.

Handing the bottle back he frowned. "Seems like this shindig is starting to break up. Any more reason for us to stick around?"

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"A rendezvous point would be nice." Ru'ni noted in response to Astin's question. "And a when to go with the where."

[Dapper Dog]

Yusandr said, "Get some rest, we'll send runners with the meetup location first thing in the morning and get to work, we'll either be dead or heroes."

[Jenna Karath]

Jenna put her hand on her brothers forearm, so he could feel the intent, but glanced around and decided, for now, to avoid saying more. Then she looked around the room, "Do you need my brother on this mission?" she asked, directly, looking at Yusandr as she seemed to be the woman in charge.

[Petrus Karath]

"Jenna..." Petrus tone contained a curious mix of concern and exasperation. Anyone who had a sibling was probably familiar with it.

[Dapper Dog]

Jenna put her hand on her brothers forearm, so he could feel the intent, but glanced around and decided, for now, to avoid saying more. Then she looked around the room, "Do you need my brother on this mission?" she asked, directly, looking at Yusandr as she seemed to be the woman in charge.

"Bankor needs people to stand up, the Force is with us, even in these darkest of times," she admitted.

"The odds were never good to begin with but honestly this should be his choice and his alone," she then turned to find some rest.

[Ru'ni Wayne]

"I have people to look after," Ru'ni explained as he headed towards the exit, pausing beside Petrus and Jenna for a moment.

"People who were nearly wiped off the face of this planet today. I trust that you will both make the right decision."

[Jurdak Surt]

Jurdak stretched and then immediately regretted it as he winced "Well if that's all for the night I need to go sleep this off and make sure I'm fresh for the op in the morning."

[Jenna Karath]

Jenna lowered her head with the response, not to hide or sulk but to think without distraction. Turning toward her brother so that she was between him and the rest of the room the Aznuri stepped beside them, spoke up. To him, a scowl, "You don't know anything about what you ask of me," she said.

Looking firmly to her brother her expression got softer, leaned in and just a little hunched that she had a almost humble appearance,"Please, don't. Running in to help those people today was one thing, but this.. you're, well, you know, and that would be walking into the hornets nest."

[Ru'ni Wayne]

Jenna lowered her head with the response, not to hide or sulk but to think without distraction. Turning toward her brother so that she was between him and the rest of the room the Aznuri stepped beside them, spoke up. To him, a scowl, "You don't know anything about what you ask of me," she said.

"You're right, I don't. But I know that a lot of my people won't be able to ask anything of anyone...EVER...AGAIN..."

Unless physically stopped, Ru'ni exits.

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus' lips twisted, pain flickering over his even features. "Jenna... you know me. You know who I am. You know that I have to do this. Please." He said. What he was pleading wasn't clear. Understanding, perhaps.

[Mianerra Tavvos]

"Don't finish the bottle," Mia noted, getting out of her seat. She did a quick jog up to the Aznuri leaving. While she did not physically impede his departure, she made a point of walking abreast with him.

"Ah, sorry 'bout all that. If it were up to me," she trailed off. Her oath kept her from saying she knew Petrus well enough to know he'd do the right thing.

"The Aznuri do not stand alone and nor will they ever." She gave the Ru'ni a small wave and walked back to the floor.

"I know you'll do the right thing, kid," she told Petrus before snatching her bottle from Astin. She took a quick drink and then headed out the same way Ru'ni had.

[Astin Denive]

Astin took one last sip from the bottle before giving it back to Mia before she left. He rose to his own feet a few moments later and took a few looks around.

"Well I suppose that's my cue to leave too. I'd like to be freshly fucked if I'm going on some sort of suicide mission tomorrow. But it's a tad late for that so I should be heading to bed too."

/exiting unless for some reason stopped.

Petrus' lips twisted, pain flickering over his even features. "Jenna... you know me. You know who I am. You know that I have to do this. Please." He said. What he was pleading wasn't clear. Understanding, perhaps.

She'd ignored the Aznuri, not out of distaste or even out of misunderstanding, but they felt pain because of what they lost of their people. Petrus, however, was all she had, and so she couldn't let that bother her, she couldn't let that get in the way.

So she pleaded, as best she could, "What they're asking of you is crazy, it's crazy, and you know the danger. We could leave, right now, start up a new life in a place that mom and dad never thought to care for. Could live peacefully, find families, but if you go up on that ship with the rest of them you probably won't come back and I won't know what to do with myself."

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus closed his eyes. The thought of leaving his sister alone hurt, a deep cut. But Jedi could not make decisions from emotion. They needed to do what they believed was right.

His eyes opened, blue and clear. "I can't." He said, his voice still gentle. "I can't give up half of who I am. And you know who I am." He pressed his lips together, giving her a significant look. He couldn't very well let all these people know he was a Jedi, after all.

[Jenna Karath]

"I know," she stammered, "I know, but I can't be ok with this. I can't just let you walk into what I know, as most as I can, that in some way this is going to be a trap. These people..." she caught herself, held her tongue.

[Jurdak Surt]

Jurdak approached slowly "Jax, or Jenna, I guess. Your brother has a purpose, he has something to fight for, thats....that's all we can ask for in this life. You saw what they did, they wont stop here. Trust me....." his eyes watered slightly "i know what it's like to run, I know what its like to be afraid to lose everything. I have lost everything, the empire killed my family. For years O fled, I hid here with my tail between my legs but guess what? Here they are again. Ready to take from others what they have taken from me."

He took a deep breath "I understand you want to protect your brother, hes everything to you, i get that trust me I do. But I've seen his kind before, he ran too, after the empire took something from him and he cant just run anymore. Will we over throw the empire? No but we can bloody their nose, we can show the galaxy that they arent impervious, we can show them the titan can bleed. We can give them hope."

The Cathar paused and looked around at who was left. "That's what this is about, at least for me and I'm sure for a few others. This is about standing our ground, telling them no more, showing them that we are tired of running and tired of hiding. To show them there are those that will push back. I understand your concern but I think your brother has found something to believe in again. Dont try and stop him."

[Xanna Teevou]

It had not been what she was expecting, but it felt like the right thing to do. She was not going to get involved in the Karath conversation as it was for the siblings themselves. Love was not a thing that could be rationalised.

On her way towards the exit she paused with Yusandr and Mahon. "There was never going to be a perfect time to stand up to the Empire. We have to start somewhere and it would seem that the Force is with us, even if the odds are not." She gave them a nod and prepared to make her way out unless stopped.

[Petrus Karath]

"I know," she stammered, "I know, but I can't be ok with this. I can't just let you walk into what I know, as most as I can, that in some way this is going to be a trap. These people..." she caught herself, held her tongue.

"I'm sorry." Petrus said. "But it's what I have to do." It wasn't really even a question of making a choice. It was just something he knew.

"But it's not hopeless." He said. "I'll be with some of the best people on Bankor, fighting for what's right. We can do it." He wasn't totally confident, far from it. But he had to believe.

[Jenna Karath]

Jenna looked into her brother's eyes, just holding his gaze for while he spoke and sometime after when his words dissipated into silence. She needed to see it, the resolve, she had to know it was unwavering. However, it was a lost cause from the start because she always knew her big brother best. Still, it hurt like nothing else to find it here when she least wanted it.

Eyes welling up she relented, took a step back, glances around and then, with her head held low, defeated and exasperated, she said,

"Just.. bring my brother home."

Without much more fanfare she herself made a quick exit, bringing a sleeve up to dry her eyes as she did.

Petrus watched her go, his hand half-raised. Slowly, he let it fall.

Looking around, he brushed a hand through his hair. "Uh... I should go. See you soon." With a general wave, he too left.
