She looked away and laughed sweetly, it was the first time he had really seen her do this. "Me, amazing? That is kind of you to say Petrus, but I just do what I can." Looking at him she added: " Well, I really like spending time with you too. So. What have you decided exactly?"

[Petrus Karath]

Petrus couldn't help but smile at that wonderful laugh. If you were telling a girl that you liked her, and she laughed in such a nice way, that was a good thing, right? The thought that maybe he was terribly misreading the situation made him swallow nervously.

But he was supposed to conquer his fear.

"Well..." Petrus said, smiling gently. "I thought about it a lot. But I finally decided where this is one of those time where it's best to just act." Slowly, he leaned across the mat, his blue eyes on her yellow, until he gently, but with just a hint of firmness pressed his lips against hers, one hand coming up to stroke back through her hair as they kissed.

"Do, or..." And then he did. He kissed her. Which was nice. And so she kissed him back, running her blue fingers through his attractively scruffy red hair. For a few moments she thought of nothing else.

Releasing him she pushed him back gently, looking deeply into his eyes. "Well now. That was a surprise." She smiled. "For a moment I thought you were going to invite me to a marathon Season 4 viewing party. I know Sloan has been going on about it."

She reached out and covered one of his hands with hers, seeming content to just look at him for a while.

The cool of her lips against the warmth of his was almost refreshing. Petrus relaxed as he felt her hand brush through his hair, the kiss deepening. When they parted, his blue eyes were bright, and he couldn't help but grin.

"Oh, well," Petrus said, grinning, "-see, I figured you'd be more likely to say yes to that if I kissed you first." The grin subsided into a fond smile as they gazed at each other, the thumb of his covered hand reaching up to cover hers.

"I didn't mean to interrupt lessons, really." Petrus said, his voice soft. "But... I guess I really wanted to know how that was gonna turn out. I had a feeling, though."

She leaned in and kissed his cheek. "Do not think this will affect your chances of promotion Petrus." She pulled back then lifted up his warm hand to look more closely at it. "One day these hands might know the feeling of dish soap..."

[Petrus Karath]

He closed his eyes a moment, savoring the cool soft touch of her lips on his cheek. He tilted his head, watching as she lifted his hand to study it. It was warm, but pleasantly soft and dry, with some light lightsaber callouses, but not more than that.

Petrus grinned. "You know, I never got to try the Spongemaster nine-thousand? I picked up a cheap model on the way home. Was it everything I imagined it would be? I was worried it might ruin me for other sponges." He dipped his head quickly, kissing the back of hers, his lips lingering a moment.

"You are full of excuses Petrus. I will note that in your performance review." She found the touch pleasing, even if he was a little warm.

She lifted his head with a cool hand on his chin. "Slowly. You understand Petrus? This is more dangerous for us than the beings in your shows. More complicated. So we will be careful, yes?"

[Petrus Karath]

"More dangerous than mega-rancors?" Petrus murmured, smiling. Xanna could feel Petrus' smile as well as see it, the muscles in his jaw shifting slightly under her touch.

But his expression turned serious, even as his blue eyes met her yellow. "But yeah, I understand. Careful. We need to understand our feelings. Look at them. Make sure they're not leading us... somewhere we shouldn't go." Attachments were not dangerous in themselves. They were dangerous because of what they made you do.

Petrus smiled again. "But trusting my instincts got me here. I think we can do it. If we're careful." His hand came up to gently cup her cheek, brushing back a strand of her hair.

She nodded and leaned into his hand, cool cheek on his warm palm. "You have come a long way from the day we met Petrus. I think I am liking your instincts." She kissed the hand gently.

"But also I am wondering if you are trying to avoid more core work? Well, and dish washing, obviously." A slight smile crossed her face. "We will take things slowly, and with care. Did you know I am going to be 20 standard years old soon?"

[Petrus Karath]

"Me too." Petrus' blue eyes gleamed at her, brightening at the feel of her lips on his hand.

"Avoid dish washing? That doesn't sound like me." He flashed her a quick grin. "But slowly and with care, I can do that." His master would have... well, probably wouldn't have approved of the endeavor at all. But he probably wouldn't have scolded him for how he handled it, anyway.

"Oh yeah? How soon?" Petrus' eyebrows went up. He'd have to get her a present, of course... was there a cultural significance to Pantorans turning twenty? "I'm twenty-one, myself. Pretty sure, anyway." A slight awkward twist of his lips at that; his parents hadn't been too specific.

[Xanna Teevou]

"One week from today in fact. Perhaps we can celebrate with our friends?" 'While we can' was the unspoken addendum. "Good. I..." she looked away. "You are a good person Petrus Karath. You will do the right thing. If things feel wrong, you will tell me."

She stood and walked over to her mat. "We are going to be shipmates as well, but I am not sharing a cabin. Not yet anyway." She laughed and took up the next position. "Well? Are you going to follow me, or just look at my glutes?"

[Petrus Karath]

"One week, huh?" For a moment, Petrus looked daunted, but then he smiled. "No problem. I'll put something together. For all of us."

His expression turned more serious. "I will, I promise. And you too, huh? If something feels wrong or..." He spread his hands. "Anything at all, really." His lips parted, then pressed together. He had caught on that she had secrets... but he wouldn't ask yet.

Petrus rose as she did. Not yet, anyway. Well, that certainly was a phrase full of... future possibility. Petrus couldn't help but consider those words. His eyes trailed after Xanna as she walked, focusing very much on just how she walked.

"Ah..." Petrus cleared his throat, then shot her a playful smile. "I don't know. I need a little more time to make up my mind." Still smiling, he went over to join her.

"That would be nice, but do not worry if things come up." Who knew what might happen?

She nodded, seeming grateful about his response. "Emotions are sometimes difficult, yes? But worth exploring." She walked back to her mat.

"Breathing Petrus, remember? And posture." She moved into a pose and looked back at him. "Things may get worse before they get better, and I am not just talking about the dishes. But we will let the force guide us."

[Petrus Karath]

"Yeah." Petrus said as he walked over. "I'm glad you think so, too. It's why I thought about it so hard, but finally did what I did." Kissing her was just the natural next step in exploring his feelings.

Petrus' lips quirked, but he followed her example, taking a pose. "Dishes do get worse before they get better... but yeah, we'll trust the Force. And each other. Go on as we've begun, huh?"

"Well dishes do get worse when you are around Petrus, this is true." She laughed and showed him some more of her skills.
